You can't compare Ottens to Hamill. Why? Hamill was sledged by John Elliot at the B&F and didn't like it and left. He gave his all for the Blues and then was slandered by Elliot.
Ottens was paid on potential for years at the Tigers, told TW he would stay, and then left the club when it was down and in need. He's a traitor. (I agree similar to Nathan Brown).

Geelong has, St Kilda, Melbourne, West Coast, Richmond over the next 4 weeks. Even Melbourne will beat them on last nights pathetic effort.

Why is everyone so down on Ottens? He played a realtively good year last year.
22 games 9th in the B&F despite having no preseason.
kicked 25 goals and was our No.1 ruckmen
Doesn't look like that bad a trade so far. Pattison & Meyer are only boaderline starting 22 players. Ottens is quite possibly our most important player, we would be in trouble with our ruck division without him.

He was a good player for us last year considering he had a few niggles, probably one of the main reasons people think he will never perform at his best again.
So far he has had a strong preseason along side King and they could potentially be a strong ruck combination if they stay injury free. Quite happy with him
