Sanchez’s dirty trivia thread

19 for lots of players. I remember a lot of guys wearing it, but not many having long careers (or in LeCras case, moving numbers after a year or two).

2000 for the first year with no wings. I believe 2001 was no wings, and 2002 was the first year with the wings as the away jumper.

Home jumper for wings was 2016-2017 (I actually really liked the navy wings but I am usually alone on that boat). Probably still had the tablecloth in 2017 until the 2018 season where we had the peril back.
Close. 2000, 2001 was wings free, but in 2002 we wore a 1992 replica at least once to celebrate ten years since the flag. Following the response to that, the wings returned in 2003 as our away jumper.

The wings became both the home and away jumper in 2016 (no more tri-panel), but the tablecloth was still the clash. In 2018, we finally got rid of that and now have our current setup.

Depends how high you want to go.

Between 1-50 there’s only one number that’s never appeared in a game.

But between 51-99 there’s only one number that HAS appeared in a game (other than Josh Hill’s one-off game in 67 to mark Indigenous Round).

McIntosh debuted in 53 right? And let's just assume that he played in 1991 GF.

The top 12

17 - 592 games (McKenna, Chick, Kennedy)
5 - 583 games (Lamb, Lovell, Morrison, Stenglein, Ebert, Sheppard)
27 - 576 games (Zanotti, Jackson, Jakovich, McKinley, Darling)
7 - 571 games (Narkle, Turley, Gehrig, Fletcher, Masten)
6 - 535 games (Miles, Peos briefly, Banfield, Nicoski, Yeo)
3 - 533 games (Mainy, Judd, Gaff)
2 - 526 games (Wiley, Annear, Kemp, McDougs, LeCras, Waterman)
10- 520 games (Turner, Pyke, Braun, Selwood, Brander)
9 - 509 games (O’Loughlin for one game, Hutton, Wilson, Lyle, Cousins, Naitanui)
4 - 497 games (Glendinning, Sumich, Antonowicz, Kerr, Sheed)
11 - 497 games (Davidson, Caton, Breman, McIntosh, Gaspar, Priddis, Kelly)
20 - 484 games (Peos, Hall, Bond, T.Cummings, Cox, Gov)

For a number exclusively for whipping boys, #7 is very high on the list!
Can we all promise to be nice to the next gun to get it?

Ok, time for the second version of this question.

Which two numbers have been worn in games by 10 different players?

Hint: both have been worn in a premiership.

The other answer to this was 22
M.O’Connell
S.Ellis
Hynes (including 1994 flag)
Downsborough
Stone
Collica
Waters in his first season
Graham
Sinclair
Giles

Not so much trivia because I don't know the answer but I am interested if anyone else does.

How many players have won flags at multiple clubs?

Jetta and Burgoyne are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

There's a few. Cam Mooney, Martin Pike are another two, sure I can think of more with some time.

Hmm, I can only think of three.

With a fourth F/S selection who didn’t last long and never played for us.

Are we thinking of the same 4?

I can think of 3 who were drafted by us and played for us whose fathers didn't, 2 drafted by us who played for us whose fathers did, one drafted by us who didn't play whose father did, one drafted F/S by another club who played for us, and one who wasn't drafted F/S by anyone who played for us but whose father is a HOF legend...

My head hurts now.

I can think of 3 who were drafted by us and played for us whose fathers didn't,
AM
BC
MM

2 drafted by us who played for us whose fathers did,
JB
JW

one drafted by us who didn't play whose father did,

NM (father played WAFL, not for us)
Edit: oh and AW

one drafted F/S by another club who played for us,

Nup, stuck on this one

and one who wasn't drafted F/S by anyone who played for us but whose father is a HOF legend...

SC?

AR if that helps

David Sierakowski (spelling)?
Could play, but was always crippled with injuries.

So we had

Father-son selections by West Coast who have played for West Coast, whose fathers also played for West Coast:
Jacob Brennan
Jake Waterman

Father-son selections by West Coast who have played for West Coast, but whose fathers did not play for West Coast:
Ashley McIntosh
Ben Cousins
Mitch Morton

Father-son selections for West Coast who never played a game, but whose fathers played for West Coast:
Alec Waterman

Father-son selections for West Coast, who never played a game and whose father also never played for West Coast
Nathan McIntosh

Father-son selections for other clubs who have played for West Coast:
David Sierakowski (Brian, St Kilda)

Other sons of former Eagles who have played AFL for other clubs:
Brandon Matera (son of Wally)
Alex Rance (son of Murray)
Teia Miles (son of Geoff)

Sons of former Eagles who were drafted but never played AFL:
Jordan Lockyer (son of Andrew)
Probably others

Sons of former Eagles squad members who have played AFL:
Jobe Watson

Eagles players whose fathers played AFL somewhere:
Tom Lamb (father Wayne played for Fitzroy and Melbourne)
Probably others

Current Eagles players yet to debut whose fathers played AFL:
Hamish Brayshaw (father Mark played for North)

Current Eagles players yet to debut whose fathers were on AFL lists but never played:
Bailey Williams (father Paul was at Carlton and St Kilda)

I think that’s every permutation.
