Who's making these decisions?
Smart is a direct report to Fagan so it's his call

I don't think the club will continue with a COO role and I have no doubt Fagan is leaning on Roo and Noble as trusted advisors and I don't think either if them have confidence in Smart

When are we expected to hear that Smart is gone?

Or is that just wishful thinking on some people behalf.
Not sure however the club needs to manage the change

Can't let go to many at once, however I think between now and end of pre-season the new structure will be fully implemented

Serious?

Ah well, she's pretty great, so be it ;)

She's actually in Sydney for six months as of next weekend, so I'll see what happens.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand...

I told you all Sando couldn't coach, and was actively damaging our playing group. Thank God we had the courage to pull the trigger - and I'm certain that's thanks to Roo.

The Scotty Thommo thing telling Sando to pull his head in has been mentioned; has the rumor that Sando savagely denigrated Luke T in front of the playing group after a bad loss been floated? Or that we had disciplinary issues with a couple of players this year, where Sando's response was so pissweak that a couple of leading players tried to step in? Or a report done by an expert on process/methodologies on our coaching that was designed to help Sando improve, which was apparently ignored or lost immediately?

Sando was a crap coach, a crap leader, he cannot be in charge, and thank Christ we woke up to it.

Don't know this Bali rumour though; someone aware me?

Fages looks a gun too.
What happened with the Thommo thing (scotty)?

Actually good article from Dwayne Russell. I'm all for change to get rid of mediocrity but would be appointing one of Dew, Sumich (wtf) or Bolton be change in the right direction?

Wow, has a real dig at some of the failure clubs like Melbourne, Bulldogs, Richmond etc, ******* good on him! Those clubs are the definition of mediocrity, and finally a Victorian journo has called them out on it. He's gone up a few notches in my book since the Sando sacking, is speaking a lot of sense.

So is it because basically Fagan is competent enough not to need a COO, or is there just a cleanout going on? Both maybe?

Not much to be honest. I still can't help but think that the coach is already in place, at least there is an agreement. Cannot go into trade week without a coach.

Smart and Steinfort gone.
Should've guessed Smart was gone once Chappy gave him his full support on 5AA... :p

Afc currently has too many staff with a senior management title - the amount if gm's alone is ridiculous for an organisation of that size. There is not enough work to go around for everyone in the structure, which suggests there are people not pulling their weight.

I expect we will see a more streamlined professional corporate structure in place with the deadwood cut loose. Should give us more money to go towards footy operations rather than trigg, smart & chappy's mates!

The financial statements as well as showing a drop in corporate sponsorship show increased administration costs. For what?

The cushy jobs of the triggy era are over...

I can't for the life of me see a need for Smart's and Harper's roles. Possibly due to not knowing their job description. But it seems to me we were admin heavy and coach light.

Noble was basically given Harper's role because he is useless. How Harper was nit sacked when thus occurred is another triggism. Pay 2 for 1.

Where is Hitaf Rasheed these days? She ended up at Events SA at some point after leaving Port, I'd arsehole out Harper, respectfully ask Nige to step aside for the better good, use their salary for Hitaf to take up over the Club media and image and put the rest into coaching.

I have no doubt an exit strategy is being planned.

Has harps realised yet...
All I know is that Noble is the only one who has been guaranteed his role, others have been told that their roles won't appear in the new structure and those roles that will continue to exist those in the roles will need to convince Fagan of their performance

The ones that pay for the signs?
Correct. There's a name on the players jumper's left breast about whom I'm referring to. I went to a very big function last evening and the word getting around is that the club has been advised and Ill use the words I heard, "stop becoming amateur hour".

Apparently they have been put in no mind that after the current contract runs out, so does the money if things don't improve.
