Norm Smith Medallist
I watched most of the Sandringham vs Weribee today, just thought I'd put my point of view forward on some of the performances.
Breese, Daniel – Was excellent for most of the day, played across half back with brief stints in the forward line. Unfortunately injured his wrist in the 3rd quarter, not sure about the extent of the injury (looked to only be a sprain) Clark, Michael - Really struggled, didn't get much of the ball, and when he did have it, his disposal was at times disgraceful.
Febey, Steven – Played in the midfield for most of the day and did some nice things. He had plenty of the ball and used it well most of the time. Whether he did enough to get a call up or not is debate able.
Funcke, Ross – Got quite a bit of the ball, but his disposal lets him down. Took allot of the kick INS, but kept going straight down the middle and turning it over. Didn’t do enough for a call up.
Jamar, Mark – Is improving all the time, got plenty of hitouts, and used his big frame effectively around the ground. Missed some relatively simple shots at goal.
Miller, Brad – Didn’t notice him much, but when he got near the ball he used it well.
McDonald, Anthony – Didn’t get allot of the ball, I can’t see him breaking into the Dee’s side again this year.
McDonald, James – Like his brother, he didn’t have much of the ball.
Williams, Luke – Was the best of the Demon players. Luke played in the forward line, but pushed up into the midfield as well. He kicked 4-5 goals, and presented well all day. May get his chance next week against Sydney.
