New recruits get SANFL homes

The SANFL mini draft is to allocate Crows interstate recruits to SANFL clubs so they have a team to play for when they’re not playing AFL.
The draft went as follows:
No. 1 North Adelaide – Ben Hudson (pictured)(Adel)
No. 2 Glenelg – Josh Mahoney (PA)
No. 3 South – Rob Forster-Knight (PA)
No. 4 Norwood – Tim Hazell (Adel rookie)
No. 5 Port Adelaide – Scott Stevens (Adel)
No. 6 Sturt – Troy Chaplin (PA)
No. 7 Eagles – Fergus Watts (Adel)
No. 8 West Adelaide – Michael Pettigrew (PA)
No. 9 Central – Jacob Surjan (PA)
No. 10 North – Luke Peel (PA)
No. 11 Glenelg – Rowan Andrews (Adel rookie)
* Note this may change as there is a rumour Scott Stevens could be at North Adelaide.
Dont know why...maybe a swap for Chad Davis? Davis left North for Port, but North arent happy with the $$ Port are offering. Releasing Stevens may be a sweetner?. This isnt a rumour, just a guess on my part.

So was that a rumour, not a rumour or a guess on your part???
I doubt that the Port Magpies would let Stevens go as a sweetner particulary now that Plapp has left, the Magpies might need all the talls they can get.
Also North Adelaide are pretty right for talls when you consider they have Adam Heuskes, Damon White, Stephen Gilham, Adam Grocke and a few other talls.
If anything North Adelaide would be looking for a small.

To clarify - the rumour about Davis/Stevens is a bit of speculation on my part. I could be totally wrong (probably am), but you never know.
The first bit about Stevens moving to North was on Channel 9 Thursday night. The reason why has not been revealed and I didnt catch the whole story. Should find out this week.
As for Plapp - that is very ordinary! I agree that they may hold SS now that Plapp has left. I'd heard Plapp was in Tassie a while ago and I thought he had already left Port.
To read that story today was a surprise. To make him stand out of footy - cant imagine the Tassie Devils or even Burnie FC being happy with that!
