Rd 9 - Saturday May 26th 2.20pm
Eagles v Port (Woodville)
Port 11.9 (75) d Eagles 8.12 (60)
A very even first half with neither team able to get a good break. Port were expected to drop off in the last quarter with the Eagles having three days extra to recover from the previous round. With a three point lead at the last break, Port found something extra in the last quarter to run over the top of the Eagles to lead by 21 points at one stage until the Eagles kicked the last goal to put them within 15.
Central v Norwood (Elizabeth)
Central 16.9 (105) d Norwood 8.12 (60)
Central were well in control of this game after half time winning by 45 points. The Bulldogs inflicted the 2nd straight loss to Norwood who had been undefeated at the end of Rd 7. Bowen Lockwood finally found some form with three goals.
Sturt v Glenelg (Unley)
Sturt 14.16 (100) d Glenelg 5.14 (44)
Sturt had the better of Glenelg in the first half, but the lead wasn't beyond the Tigers. The second half saw the Blues streak further ahead and win by a good margin of 56, just their second win for the season.
North v South (Prospect)
South 13.13 (91) d North 13.9 (87)
Poor old North looked like they might finally win a game going into the final term in front. The Roosters led for most of the game, but South learnt last week that they can dig deep in final quarters and came back hard to win by just 4 points.
Bye: West
