McGregor was ok. Bernie Vince was sensational and I would probably rate him b.o.g. He played mostly on the ball and was particularly damaging in the first half.
This tells me Vince isn’t up to AFL standard. We heard the claims that he isn’t fit when in reality it’s just that he can’t adapt to the AFL. BOG for Eagles and yet if he were to get a game with the Crows next week he wouldn’t get near it.

Vince is a midfielder and when he gets to play that role for the Eagles he burns. For the Crows he is a forward. Judge him when he gets to play midfield for the Crows.

Meanwhile Pfeiffer mills around without a lot of eye-catching performances, can't get a game full stop at AFL level, and he is up to AFL standard? FFS
Mate, sometimes you lose grip of reality.

You continuously harped on about how Vince wasn’t fit; well he goes back to the SANFL and gets high amongst the best. I think it’s a fair assumption to make that he is 100% fit or very close to it, certainly not the 50% you claimed.

In his 6 AFL games this year he’s averaging less than 10 possessions per game, and is giving away just less than 2 free kicks per game, most of which have been holding the ball. He’s too slow to put his plans into action, and he has a lack of pace. Unfortunately I can’t see him making the grade.

Pfeiffer is almost 2 years younger than Vince, has this slipped your mind?

Spoke to Tippett yesterday at Sturt vs West and said he is out for the rest of season. Hinge played in the reserves yesterday and played a good game for West Adelaide

I'm actually going to agree with FD here... you can't say Vince isn't up to AFL standard just because he dominates a game in the SANFL. He has only played a few AFL games so he is finding his feet and performs better than Pfeiffer in the local league yet he is the next champion?

Exactly. That forward crumbing position in the AFL requires someone lightning quick with an excellent defensive side to their game. Vince probably lacks a little in both of these areas. I think Vince could be a good AFL player setting up play from the midfield or back half and he is good in tight with quick hands from the clearances.

This is just stupid!!!

Have the facts slipped your mind?

He has gotten AFL games, doesn't have the grounding in footy that Pfeiffer has, and was pulled from country footy to AFL in the space of 12 months. Of course he is going to take a little longer to adapt to the pace of AFL. He is playing up forward for us when he is ripping it up as a midfielder at SANFL level; notice he looked very impressive when thrown more into the action against the Power.

I love how Pfeiffer "is going to be a great AFL player" without having played any games, while Vince "isn't up to AFL standard" yet is doing what Pfeiffer isn't: playing AFL footy (not to mention looking a better player than him at SANFL level without the same grounding in footy). Fair go mate.
Tell us what leads you to believe that Vince will make it as an AFL player? What are the qualities that make him such an appealing prospect?

If true, then I hold out VERY little hope for Tippett. During his 6 months with the Crows he's had a major neck injury and now a shoulder injury which could keep him out for months. Why the heck didn’t we take local boy Chris Schmidt?

So because he's had a couple of unlucky injuries, you're having a crack at the decision to recruit Kurt?

You're kidding right....Tippett was kidding right?

Thiele's not kidding, but it's a decision Adelaide have made with an eye to the future.

Kurt's ruck form for West has been very good and I'm sure he wasn't recruited with a view to playing him this year. He'll be back as an exciting prospect for next year and beyond.

Be patient, he's a young ruckman.

How does this make any sense????

Should he had payed a stinker to raise his stocks?

Give the lad a go.

Does the name Sean Wellman mean anything to you?

It took him basically 18 months from the time he was added to the AFC supplementally list in 1992 to get his body ready to play football in 1994.

IIRC he broke his ankle in the 1992 pre season training and was restricted to doing weights. From lifting weights that were too heavy for him he ended up with a potentially serious back injury. Half way thought 1993 his AFL dream looked over and certain to be delisted because of injury. As we know he debuted for the Crows in 1994 and went on to have a wonderful career at Essendon.

I wouldn’t be writing KT off yet.
