Fingers have been pointed at someone who has been in prison for the murder of someone else.

Sarah vanished on November 8, 2000, after leaving work in Claremont about 5pm to meet someone in the Bassendean area. Her car was later found abandoned at the old Swan District Hospital site but her body has never been found.

Ms McMahon to lD him that she had obtained about $10,000 worth of drugs from Mr Morey which she had to sell.
Mr Hilderbrandt also claimed that on 6 November 2000 he was present when Ms McMahon received a telephone call on her mobile telephone which she had said was from Mr Morey.
He claimed that at the end of the conversation she said, ... that she’d broken the code of silence over the phone’.
He said that the reference to breaking the code of silence referred to saying his name and mentioning the drugs.
According to Mr Hilderbrandt, Ms McMahon was ‘... very, very, scared’ (ts 81)

Police say she left her work at a reticulation shop in Claremont on November 8 and drove to Bassendean after which she was never seen again.

In 2012 a man who was serving a lengthy sentence for attempting to strangle a woman was questioned about her disappearance but denied all knowledge of the case.

Ms Kendrick originally told police she was called to a house in Marangaroo by her friend Gareth Allen, who said his trucking company co-worker and part-time housemate Donald Morey had killed a girl at the property and help was needed cleaning up.

She said in her statement that she and Mr Allen's wife, Marta Margaret Allen, had cleaned up after seeing Ms McMahon's naked body on Morey's bed, with rope looped around her neck and congealed blood on her face, and also saw the body being removed from the house, wrapped in Morey's quilt and placed in Mr Allen's ute.

But testifying today at an inquest into Ms McMahon's disappearance, Ms Kendrick denied any knowledge or involvement in the matter, saying she was "messed up'' on drugs when she made the statement to police.

"I don't remember seeing any body,'' she told Perth's Coroner's Court.

"I didn't see any girl - I would remember.

You are the reason threads get locked because you continue to go off on these tangents. You created this thread so I had hoped you would keep to them.

I want to continue to read and discuss these issues in the appropriate threads so I can assess the points raised. I DO NOT think 1 person is responsible for all, nor do I think ONE GROUP is responsible for all. I want YOU to state here and now who you think is responsible, a single entity a group or different people at different times. Lay em down

Can you please stick to the point of posting information which is pertinent and backed by fact, rather than wild ideology and unproven/untested theories when it comes to discussion current cases. Please also refrain from spam posting the same material across multiple threads, it doesnt contribute in a meaningful way.

Reward has been increased.
"I often wonder what our lives would’ve been like if Sarah had never been taken from us, but now our only consolation may be to find out where she rests. To those who may hold the key to Sarah’s whereabouts, please come forward." https://t.co/G9AHX2AYpv #perthnews

The tragic case of Sarah McMahon is back in the public spotlight after the state government announced it had approved reward increases of $250,000 in 11 unsolved homicide and suspicious disappearance cases.

Sarah's case is one of them….

…Mobile phone records released during the 2012 inquest found Sarah received four phone calls on her mobile the day she went missing.

Of these four calls, one was from a friend, another was from Kate and two were from a man called Donald Victor Morey.

More questions than answers

Morey, 63, was sentenced to 13 years and four months in jail with no parole over the attempted murder of a Perth sex worker in 2003.

Morey attacked the woman shortly after she got into his Holden Commodore station wagon late at night.

He drove her to Helena Valley where he tried to put a rope around her neck, but she fought back and escaped.

Morey denied the offence but his DNA was found on the woman's hair extensions.

There was a one in 10 billion chance the DNA could have been from someone else, court documents from his sentencing in 2005 show.

He was found guilty of attempted murder, unlawful assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and making threats.

Morey walked free from a WA jail on September 17 after serving his full sentence.

He's been released under a Post Sentence Supervision Order (PSSO) by the Prisoners Review Board, meaning he must abide by a range of supervision requirements for two years.

According to the board's decision to release Morey on a PSSO, he has "unmet treatment needs" relating to violence and consequential thinking.

The board's decision, published online, reads: "You were assessed as requiring an intensive violent offender treatment program and think first program. You refused to participate in the treatment programmes.

"The board is of the opinion that a period of community supervision will enable further work to be undertaken ... to address your outstanding treatment needs and reduce the risk of you committing a serious violent offence and the risk that poses to the safety of the community."

Court records show Morey appeared in the Armadale Magistrates Court on November 1.

He was charged with carrying an article with intent to injure and breaching his PSSO. He pleaded guilty and was fined $2000.

Police refused a request from WAtoday to provide further information on these offences.….

Thanks for sharing this article Pete.
I've been on the look out since September to see if there would be any news on his release.

Quite unsettling to know this guy is on the loose, on our streets again.
I hope they're keeping a very close eye on him as I have strong doubts that he won't reoffend. The Nov 1 court appearance is indicative of that imo.

"Morey tried to place the rope over the woman's neck but she put her back against the passenger door and repeatedly kicked him.

"I fell out backwards and hit the kerb with my back," she said.

"He dived out over the top of me and I got him in the face with my feet. I think that dazed him a little bit. I crawled to the back of the car and he followed me.

"He was punching into me for about 15 minutes and I was screaming. I climbed on to the back of his car . . . to try not to let him get me back into the car again."

The woman managed to climb a high wall and stumble through a swampy area."

Ms Ugle's body was found in April 2003 near Mundaring Weir - a short distance from Morey's Chidlow home and from the Helena Valley street where he took his December 2003 victim. The two prostitutes knew each other.

Why would a car go to Geraldton and back?

"The charred remains of 24-year-old hospitality student Deborah Michelle Anderson were found in a burnt out car in a shopping centre car park in January 2000.

Police have been baffled by her death for more than a decade.

She told family she needed the car for a trip to the zoo but it was later revealed the car had been driven to Geraldton and back on the day she died.

Helena Valley, Middle Swan, Chidow...

Close to Parkerville right?

DM dealing drugs and attacking women.

Associates would be interesting.

Going to check who had property in the Hills around that time.

JFC - Perth Hills at night (or day)

Avoid at all costs.

The West Australian coroner has recommended a review of the way police investigate suspected murders, after identifying several failures in an inquiry into the death of a young woman.
The body of Laura Kate Muckersie, 20, was found in a storm drain in Swan View in 2001.

She had died as a result of a methylamphetamine overdose, but the coroner was unable to determine if that was the result of accident, suicide or homicide.
But Alastair Hope said her death was suspicious, as no drug paraphernalia was found near her body, three people were seen running from the storm drain and her body had been moved.

Mr Hope said the detective who reviewed her case had decided the case was not suspicious without knowing all the facts or collecting relevant phone records, and had dismissed concerns raised by other officers in a rude and unhelpful manner.

the review detective didn’t gather all information so the review is worth nothing ?
