There are good arguments for saving Didak, and good arguments for letting him sink. The question is, what's best for Collingwood? (Didak should be able to look after himself. But of course he can't)

Unless we get a first-class trade for him, I think he's worth enough to the club to give him another chance under the following circumstances, or similar:

A stringent good-behaviour clause to be inserted in his contract again, including a no-nightclub curfew.
He must get off the drink and stay off it while he's contracted to the club. If that involves counselling & education, so be it.

He doesn't play in finals, whatever happens.

Lastly, and this is where you can help lads;

All Pies barrackers to come off the drink in sympathy. Only during the season, of course.:D

And if he thinks that's too tough, he can try getting a real job.

Good post, but didn't he have all that in his last (modified) contract

Trying to avoid saying stuff that will get me in trouble, the clause the first time has to have been a media circus to shut up the critics and make it look like we were doing something either that or we are dealing with someone who thinks they are above punishment, but I choose to believe the former.

I think the club knew full well that what they were asking in the contract was unreasonable and prior to singing the contract Didak was probably told so long as he stays out of the headlines, the contract would not be enforced.

Didn't they take it out for the latest contract? 3 weeks later he's out getting stotious. And his form fell off too.

Look, he's had the shite frightened out of him now. One more chance and if things don't work, cut him loose.

I think he wants to change, but as it was reported in the press on the weekend, once he hits the piss, he totally loses it.
So as long as he drinks, he is incapable of changing.

1. He wasn't drinking when he made the decision to go drinking.

2. He wasn't drinking when he lied.

Hard to believe he will change imo.

So a last chance on top of his last, last chance.

Sorry Snag, not for mine, if I could tell you what I've been told, you would think differently, I think

To all the people who are willing to trade Didak as part of a deal for Kerr. What do you suggest Collingwood does when Kerr screws up next year? After all his record is worse than Didak's. Are they going to trade him for pittance in next years draft or should they give him more than one chance?

i have made a new site on facebook to protest against collingwood getting rid of didak at the end of the season, i want everyone to join so collingwood will see how valued he is to the collingwood football club and how much his supporters love him, the more people that join the the better, once enough people join im gonna ask the collingwood football club to look at it. the site to join is..... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=29491809458&ref=mf

every body on facebook should join

Hey I love Didak as a player, but gee it was only two weeks before that a new contract was honored for him, only for him to piss it back in their face.

It reeks of a person who cares for the one and only!

Caring for the one and only seems to fit the description of one Brendan Fevola, yet I'm sure you love him there at Carlton.

Save Alan Didak, pfffft!!!!!!. He's had plenty of chances to save himself.

You guys spouting you will not buy a membership if he is given the arse can bugger off if you like, the Collingwood football club will survive and prosper without you and Alan Didak.

Slightly amusing that the "Save Didak" thread has become a "P off didak" thread, while the "P off Didak" thread has become a "Save Didak" thread.

Maybe this means people prefer to attack than support? Related to the Oz tall poppy syndrome? Just as likely means nothing

So how does that change his point about Didak?

It doesn't, if you read my post I didn't make any mention of Didak in it and whether he was correct or incorrect in his description. I was relating his post to Fevola.
