Seems as the so called 'big 3' Carl,Ess and Coll have come to an agrement (todays Age) where they will split 50/50 the gate recipts for their games with each other to subvert the leagues equalisation rules. Another Elliot idea, or so it seems.
Just wondering how the league headquarters, more specifcally, the bloke who puts together the actual draw (dont know who it is now Collins has moved on) will now work out.
Maybe by some magic there may be an equitable draw next year, where Carl,Ess and the Woods may all meet only once. The Dons might even get up to 4 interstate games in a year.

Seriously though, would it suprise if the league did do something along those lines just to smack Elliot down again? Maybe draw them at Colonical where the Dons members would reduce gate takings to a very paltry size indeed. Will be interested to see how they react (league HQ) to this latest little challenge to their authority.

ps I keep seeing Wayne J as Cartman in the episode where he took over from officer Barbrady "You WILL respect my AUTHORITEY"
Elliot as Mr.Garrison? Leaves Eddie as Mr.Hat.

I like the idea of "chainsaw" (He sounds like one)Elliot going after "The Ferret" Samuel. A lot of ordinary peoples problems come from him. He's big on competition but he and his cronies shut waverley down because it would be too competitive against colonic stayed

But the way the they would like it to be is VIC clubs v interstate at colonial (home team keep the profits (???) and VIC v VIC at the MCG with shared everything (members entry, Corporate boxes, Gate takings etc etc - this will be possible with redevelopment of northern stand

Grendel, dunno about the Carl/Coll game but they can't schedule Essendon's matches against Carl/Coll at colonial due to the club's contractual agreement with the AFL.
At the end of the day if some of the clubs decide to pay each other part of their home gate it's none of the AFL's business.

BTW, we did play 4 interstate games this year. 5 last year and 6 in '97 for that matter too

Grendel,

As we well know, the AFL will never get rid of the blockbuster games while themselves and the larger clubs make so much money out of them. Even though Mick Malthouse is another critic of the uneven draw each year

The rest of us just have to work around them as usual!
