Say you were getting married....

I'm confused. You're getting gifts off people you don't really like. What's not to enjoy about this?

Sounds like Maleficent.
"Now, I know I'm not invited, I swear I don't hold a grudge, but because im generous i'll give your newborn Aurora a gift because i'm just that kind of person :) IF SHE PRICKS HER FINGER ON A SPINDLE WHEEL BEFORE HER 16TH BIRTHDAY, SHE WILL DIIIIIIE!"

If the OP was changed from "people you don't care about" to "people you hate" I imagine this would elicit stronger and more confusing emotions.

Guilt. I'm Catholic, my response to everything is guilt.
It's a truly remarkable cross Catholics bear, my mother wouldn't have taken Holy Communion in nearly fifty years and yet still she can't shed that Catholic f***ing guilt complex.
Drives me round the bend.

I had my wedding in Thailand and not one person besides my family bought me a present or even a ****in card. Still livid about it to this day, I mean they paid to come to Thailand yet still none of them had the desire to even give me a card, not even sure I want to consider them as friends now tbh.

Their present is forking out for a ****ing airfare and accommodation. You can't complain about people not buying you something when you're having your wedding overseas and they have spent over $1000 to be there.

I'm baffled by this attitude. How much do you expect people to spend on you? A recent wedding I was in one of the bride's maids was talking to me as we waited for photos. She said the bride wanted to have the wedding in Thailand, and her justification for making people fork out thousands of dollars to attend was "Oh well it'll be like 18 months away, why can't they save up?". Why the f*ck should they have to save up for your wedding? What if they want to go on their own holiday that they need to save for? Oh f*ck their holiday because YOU'RE getting married. Dumb b*tch.*

*Not saying you or your wife had this sort of ignorance, but it annoyed me (obviously).

My mate married in Thailand and I was invited but I just sent a card with a cheque. **** that.

ROFL- are you the same dude that was banging on about not getting a card in the Wedding thread?

(apologies if not)
