What's the go with our interchanges? Should we have the highest scoring players on our bench and will their score even count? Or chuck on actual depth?

Any player can be on the interchange and you will score 100% of their score. This can be 4 mids if you want.

I hadn't thought of that - I had assumed we were having 22 players scoring each week so interchange guys you'd want as the highest scorers, but it hasn't been stated for sure......

EDIT: you got your answer uber-quickly, good work Armooo

Games can be played every week. I'm not sure 100% how it will take place yet.

My preference is still to do it in a way that the games over bye weeks aren't worth as much as normal games.
I'm easy as long as it's one of the ways put up previously - unless anyone has an objection to your triple threat approach I reckon Armoooo just makes the call on it and we book them in - any objections?

Both options rely on byes so you probably need to give your list a once over to check you're not in too bad a way.

I know I was but am levelling it off a bit now.

Yeah i wasnt sure on scully either felsty
Had to check the OP.
If you are taking byes into account I think your really hindering your team. Jeez the byes change every year so its a raffle if your team stacks up well against it or not.

I think we should skip the byes. Way too hard when byes change every year. It's already difficult enough getting a decent player in the right position, no need to make it harder

Whatever way it lands the game isn't designed to make long term options around bye weeks so I wouldn't recommend taking it into account during drafting.

I think the consensus is that 11 matches isn't enough but those 11 one on one matches are the most important and these will be scheduled around bye weeks.

Just drafting to the schedules set out last week.

It kind of forces you to be balanced across all teams so it shouldn't be too bad in future years and if it doesn't work out it will get people trading which is another plus.

I reckon take out bye weeks!

Leaves us with 17 games, 11 is just too little. That way we play half the competition twice.

It won't be completely fair this first season, but after the initial season, use a strength of schedule similar to the AFL. As much as I think the triple threat has merit, I just don't feel like it will resemble playing a proper game.

*If you really wanted the first season to be fair we could do a private(or public) vote on who we think are the better teams for 2016. However, I'd rather just go random for our first season.

Well thats exactly right.
No point planning around byes.
I was hoping we wont be playing through them anyway, as that was the original plan from Armoooo iirc.

Personally i never plan for byes no matter what format because u never know what your situation will be by bye time considering injuries, trading etc.

If u guys are hell bent on playing during bye rounds, heres an idea i thought up and dunno why it hasnt been used before:
Play one head to head game, over all 3 bye rounds...
Everyone on your team will score twice.

Everything's relative - I have 15 guys who can play mid 13 of which are under 25.

At this stage when choosing between guys where I have doubts about them all, the fact that they can potentially plug a gap in my week 15 side this year is pretty much the deciding factor. The chances are unless I am either very lucky or very unlucky they won't play normally so shoring up points in the byes is important.

It's been a factor in my last 3 mid pickups but I don't think has been detrimental to my side, but it could be in the future depending on how things go - that's why I wanted confirmation that it was as stated last week.

I'm relaxed about changing it but we need to finalise it one way or the other - it's good that people are giving their views as I guess it slipped under the radar on Friday as nobody cried foul then.

How about using a pre-season competition as a bit of a circuit breaker. Gives us more matches and doesn't challenge the integrity of the home and away and finals series. We could give a prize such as #1 pick in the PSD or the #1 position on the waiver wire as a prize that keeps it interesting but doesn't throw out the balance of the game. As seasons go by it would also give us the opportunity to experiment with rule changes (if we wanted to start awarding 150% for a vice captain for example).

This way we would have a 4 week pre-season competition.
11 H&A rounds
3 Finals Rounds

This would give us the 3 bye rounds vacant as well as room for two byes throughout the year (which could be a good time to open up mid-season transfer windows).

Not a fan of the pre-season idea. Stars don't play, SC scores are hard to come by (and out of whack from short games).

I don't care whether we play byes or not, but I'd definitely prefer more than 11 games. I'm fine with not playing everyone twice or the alternative multi-game rounds.

Yep sounds good to me for next season.

I still feel like we could determine who plays who twice based on a system similar to the AFL for future seasons?

Sorry, should have made that clear. It would be our pre-season which would commence round 1 of the AFL season.

He means that our preseason Comp will be during the afl home and away seaso, I believe

You know what, we might as well start a vote on the general direction we want to see the fixture headed and then we can work from here. Could everybody please vote in relation to the following:

Every team should play each other the same amount of times?

Yes ------ Not Fussed ---------- No

Games Should Be Played Each Round (Including Byes)
Yes -------- Not Fussed ---------- No
