Also what would people think about opening up trading whilst the draft is still going?

I'm not 100% sold on this myself bit thought it was worth discussing. As long as each trade contained the same amount of players / picks it shouldn't cause any issues and could create a more dynamic draft.

Thats getting a bit too difficult I think.. i like the idea of making it as much like the afl as possible.

I'm against it, just keep it simple IMO.

Im happy anything goes.
If anyone offered me a trade during this draft id consider.
Although i dont think it will happen much as we have the full pool of talent to choose from.

Definitely handy to trade picks next year as we draft the new kids.
 
All good, as I said, just throwing it out there. I liked the idea of having the extra flexibility, but the main downside for me was the draft potentially getting held up by people waiting on confirmation of deals.

After the draft I was thinking about having a 24-48 hour break and then going into the PSD. This would give people an opportunity to address any list-balance issues. i.e. if you have drafted 15 rucks you could delist a couple and then have another pick from the pool. Then we would go to the rookie draft to pick 4 more players each who are either on the rookie list or yet to debut.

Do you think we should have a trade period between drafts or wait until initial lists are finalised?
 
Either way, maybe draft before hand, because then you could use an asset to fill a hole, rather than feeling the need to delist them to balance up?

Hopefully both those guys will be nice to those of us who have neither.......

I think in draft trading might work for future seasons, but too big a mistake could be made by someone to do it on this initial draft.

On the PSD timing - we really need it to be after the SC list is updated and positions are confirmed which is likely to be right before Xmas - not sure what that means for peoples Big Footy access, I'll still be logging on I should think.

That sounds great. I think we will be up against it to have the National Draft finished before Christmas, hopefully we do. It is a shame that the positions will come out mid draft but at least every one is under the same disadvantage.
 
Ive been pulled up by my boss today for looking at my phone too much...
Hasn't even been one pick!
If the draft picks up steam i might lose my job.

I've been checking in all day as I'm next in line! I'll post as soon as dewah does, or when his 12 hours are up.

On that note, I'm not in Victoria, so can someone confirm that it is 6.23pm Melbourne time that I can pick (e.g. under 1.5 hours from now)?
 
Melbourne time is the CORRECT time so yeah :p

Sinc what a pick!! I genuinely haven't even thought about Stringer, going to have to look through all the lists again to make sure I haven't missed any others.

Just a reminder guys that interest lists are a life saver. Even if you only give the person after your pick a few options it could drastically speed up the draft.

If you are towards either end of the draft table and don't want to give away any competitive edge you can send them to myself.

Even if you only give 2 or 3 names, they could well be gone at which point you'll have your 12 hours to pick but if your clear number 1 is available then why wait.
 
I'm all for giving the person either side of me my mobile number in order to speed things up. Imagine how much faster things will go.

Or we try and set aside some time where we can all jump on, and we have a couple mins each pick, we could smash out quite a few picks in an hour or so!

Haha I know, but I'm finding I'm spending a stupid amount of time checking this thread for picks throughout the day. Would be a lot easier if I got a text to say, I'm up. But yeah we have all summer and it's going pretty quickly, so all good
