Are you setting up trade bait with your 2nd pick - 2 elite rucks is a surprise alright.........
Did not see myself taking two ruckman to get my list started but Naitanui was my #5 overall, too good to pass up.

For the love of god will somebody draft Sam Jacobs before I have an interchange bench full of rucks :P

Lol it hadn't even crossed my mind that the interchange wouldn't be for midfielders - fair play....good grab....may need to discuss a trade though at some point if that catches on!

Question - how has everyone done their lists? I have tried before and cant do a straight list when there are positions in question. Have people just ranked or ranked by position or anything else?

That would be telling :)

I think you need to rank by quality, but be aware that some positions that you are required to fill have a much more scarce supply of quality players.

Personally I've only ranked by position. But have a bot of an idea how they mingle. I dont think u can mix them really.
Because it depends how the draft flows.

Haven't had time to do a list so I just have a master spreadsheet of stats and am deciding on the fly. Not ideal beyond the top guys so will hopefully finish a list over the next couple of evenings.

Dangerfield and Parker would give em a run for their money
Meh. Im bullish about Sloane. Some HUGE scores last year showed his capabilities and without Danger, well... the way I see it the first two picks for everyone needs to be two captain options, otherwise youll be playing catch up. To get two blokes who will be 25/26 is just an added bonus. You have picked well.. I had Danger second to Fyfe and Parker is somewhat of a steal. I just dont like how the Swans mids seem to share points.

I have PM'd SaintBatty. Only concern is that it doesn't look like he's been online since last Thursday so he would have missed a fair bit of the planning and details. Really hope he gets online, would hate to see a first round pick get skipped.

Nobody on here happens to know SaintBatty do they? would be great if we could send him a text or something...

On that note would it be a good idea to share mobile numbers so we can give each other a buzz when their pick is up? obviously entirely optional as I can understand people wanting to maintain their anonymity.

I'm all for making it as smooth as possible. Phone numbers would be fine with me

Oh just quickly, with rucks, if they have a R/F designation they can play KPF yeah?

Can a pure ruck be played in the pocket? Or just ruck and interchange?

Good to see the first sainter get picked up - 3rd round mind you - shame on us!
He wasn't quite best available on my recruiters list but we just couldn't go past him. If he can improve his output this year he will be the steal of the draft!

He's still got it - choomah hoping for a Richo-like season I think.

Also think choomah is going for the least letters used in drafts award :)
Choomah is the master of understatement

Strictly speaking they can play forward pocket because they have the forward designation, but looking at the likely suspects and Armooo's list of players designated as KPF's they didn't include ruck forwards so they cant play KPF on that basis.

Still plenty of time to finalise these sort of decisions. Hopefully we will get a few more opinions.

At this stage I think the priority should be an equal draw. I would hate to see a team get into the finals by beating the bottom four sides twice just ahead of a team that lost to the top 4 teams twice.

I wouldn't be entirely against playing over bye rounds as it does test depth and separate the active from the inactive as you said but I don't think it should be in the same format. Perhaps have an open invitational for the bye weeks. Every team names a side. The highest scoring team gets 4 points, the second highest 3, the third highest 2 and the fourth highest 1? would give everyone something to do over the bye weeks and wouldn't challenge the integrity of the comp? just spitballin' here... the more suggestions the better.
What about we have 2 competitions in one - with 3 'trophy' winners in order of importance:

Premiers based on a 14 week season, 3 week finals
Minor Premier based on wins (and percentage if tied) over the 14 home and away season
Points winner based on points amassed by lineups over 22/23 week afl season

If they are forward eligible they can play CHF, FF or in the pockets.

If they are ruck only it is only the ruck and interchange bench.

Yep definitely.

The main premiership will always be the goal but the other two are nice incentives also. The treble is also a possibility for a dominant side.

Very hard to pass on Bennell at that last pick but I have too much love for Wingard. If his behavioural problems scare off people enough for him to slide to my next pick he will definitely become a 'gunslinger'.
