Im an AF man myself.
But although all my mates and workmates mostly go AF as well, I am aware SC is the preferred option for the bigfooty community.

I think it has to do with know all attitude on the net.
People like to pretend they understand SC scoring.
I prefer cold stats myself.
No offense to anyone on here.

I dont really have the answers but I have been a part of a few fantasy drafts where autopicks had to be made because some blokes just didnt turn it up and itll really skew those teams in a way that hurts everyone else, picking up all the highest sc scorers who in all likelihood are mids when a) those guys may not need mids or b) the teams who are taking part dont get a true understanding of value because the autopicks are being made i.e. I would love to have a crack at some of those mids - lewis, thompson - thinking they might last a bit longer but now I either have to pick them up early knowing they are going to be autopicked at the expense of other areas of my team structurally, when I know they in all likelihood would have lasted that bit longer.

Its tough. I dont begrudge them because this site isnt our lives and we have all got something outside it. Its just a crap situation.
 
UPDATE:
I have sent a PM through to dewah07 to see where he is at. Unfortunately Choomah doesn't accept PM's.

We need to make a decision sooner or later as to whether we will keep them on so I have made a decision.

We will keep the current system in place until the completion of round 24 of the draft.

At this stage if they do not start participating (including updating team lists) we will put the draft on hold at this stage and then have a re-distribution draft.

We will allow every team to pick up two players from the two lists (one team will be drafted from in top-bottom draft order and then the other will be done in bottom to top draft order).

I know this is a pain and it messes around with people's strategies but it is the only fair way I can think of and most importantly, we are all under the same disadvantage so it should be fine.
 
Also, it seems like the majority are happy to stick with the SC positions so we may as well lock this in that positions will be locked for the season. We can review this before the start of next season (all going well) to determine if we want to change this.

Is it worth waiting for round 24, wouldn't round 12 make it effect the draft in the least minimal way? (Assuming they don't continue to participate, it would be much better if they started taking part though)

Just had another look and for some reason thought we weren't as close to round 12 as I thought.

I think you're right. Round 12 would be better.

Does anybody have any significant objections to this?

dewah07 and Choomah if you could give us an update as soon as you can it would be greatly appreciated.

I think everyone's preference is to have both of you in the competition but if you don't let us know we will have to do what's in the best interest of the comp.

Could I get a few opinions thrown out on how we should do the re-distribution draft if Choomah and dewah07 don't come to the party?

I thought it would be fair to do 1 - 12 for one team and then 12-1 for the second but having a look at the players that would be available it seems unfair that the team that had pick 1 in the main draft get a free crack at either Ablett or Franklin and the teams that are middle of the draft would be disadvantaged.

I'm leaning towards generating a new order for the draft now and just have both teams players in the pool. Then do another snake order from the new draft order.

Once the re-distribution is completed we would continue our draft from round 13 in the original draft order.

just to clarify, what players would be available to the 2x teams in the distribution draft, I assume the players choomah & dewah drafted?

I think you need to let people choose not to take a player from Choomah or Dewah's list. It's possible that with a late pick you might not want to take the player that is left. Maybe allow people to take from the national draft if they choose, but it means they can't then go back to draft an ex-Choomah or Dewah player.

Yep,

No problem with that at all.

So rounds 13 and 14 would be the re-distribution draft. If you pass on one or two of your picks you would then activate a pick in rounds 39/40.

As long as we're clear that the only players that can be drafted in rounds 13 and 14 are players that were either picked or allocated onto their teams.
 
Regardless of all this, we dont do anything until Choomah and Dewah have a say on it, even if it means stopping the draft for a while. They deserve the right to have a say how we go about it.
