One more question. You can only select from the free agent pool if you have list space after the national draft, right?
When is the next time we can use the free agency pool? After round 1?
 
I reckon now that we're down to 10 teams we should start to limit free agent pickups to 1 per week with pre season counting as 1 week.
 
I agree with a limit, but maybe 2 per week would be more fair, because there are times when you're desperate for a KPD or a ruck or maybe both in the same week, and it would suck having to cop a zero
 
After having our end of year reviews, the Flaming Phoenix are officially delisting Trengove (Melb) and Schoenmakers. We thank the boys for their service to the club (Schoenmakers you are an utter spud!).
 
CanonEyes are pleased to announce the retirements of Drew Petrie and Dane Swan. We thank both players for their service and wish them all the ebst for the future.

We are also pleased to announce that after a solid year we will nominate Josh Smith to be upgraded from the rookie list, and we look forward to continued growth in his SuperCoach scoring as he settles into a more prominent role in the midfield.

We also wish to announce the delisting of the following players and thank them for their input over the last year:

Free agency will open up after the drafts.

If you have more than 40 players you can't use free agency.

If you have 40 you can but you will need to delist a player once your signing is official.

If you have 39 or less, you can just sign the player.

so we can theoretically delist our draftees and pick up free agents?

It would be good but at the end of the day you could always just add him to the next deal you do and allow the other team to delist him. There will always be work arounds unless we say that they can't be delisted or traded for their first year but it would all get a bit convoluted.

I like them for the purpose they serve in the list lodgement process, but once they're on a list they're just like any other player :)
