Hopefully they will get Martin Tyler, he is one of the best. It's such a shame that a commentator as brilliant as Simon Hill won't be at the cup.

He is the voice of the Socceroos.

It will be very strange watching our boys on SBS & not Fox Sports.
 
I'm also struggling to get excited about this Full Brazilian show. Never been a fan of Jimeoin. Haven't missed his seemingly long absence from our TV screens.

Shame they couldn't get Santo, Sam and Ed back. Real shame.

Does anyone know of any shows from other countries? I remember Baddiel and Skinner from 98. Cracking show. I don't think those guys do that anymore but is there an equivalent?
 
My guess is some games we will get Martin Tyler's commentary.

Basheer will probably commentate the socceroos games only, together with Fozzie!

Les will be there hosting. He will be quitting his on air role at SBS the conclusion of the world cup.

The first half Martin Tyler (and hence the audio) was ahead of the vision, called the own goal well before the ball was in the back of the net.

Ruined the moment, 2nd half seemed OK. Hopefully we avoid this for the rest of the tournament.

Was absolutely horrible. The ball hadn't even touched Marcelo's foot yet and Tyler had called it a goal.
As you said didn't notice it in the second half.
 
I assume the online stream and the TV coverage had different commentators? The bloke online was awful, I didn't know David Silva was playing and have never heard of a centre fullback before.

I turned it off just as this was starting but thought I heard the chick have a crack at the JLo song

Agreed. And in some instances it was quite jolty as well. Looked like upscaled SD to me.
 
I'm hoping that these useless sbs public servants manage to fix up the syncing problems. Martin Tyler is boring, wish foxtel had the rights.

They appeared to have it fixed by the second half.
