What a load of rot. So you want to know how I have gone getting top averaging players? I started and finished with the top DEF, MID and FWD last year and I upgraded into guys on each line who were in the top 10-15 for their position by about R16. Overall finish was top 200.

You can think the concept is flawed if you want to, suit yourself. If my D6 is averaging 83 this year, they will certainly be in line for an upgrade.
I wish had've just one chance to upgrade a D6 during a season. Havn't been close to it yet. Chasing my tail with injuries each year. I just never get there!

Campaigner of a game supercoach!!!!:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::drunk:

This is my side for now. Got about 5k left. Certain to change but I think my premiums are almost set. Interested to hear any feedback. :)

Depending on rookies, I'd consider trying to get a midpricer in for Brown in the backline. You should be able to free up some cash in the middle, with too many blokes around that 200k mark. There are plenty of quality rookies you can pick instead

Wowsers there's been some horse poo been thrown around in here today! FWIW i think it's entirely possible that Wells can reach at least a 100ppg avg. with a full pre-season and Andrew Swallow back in the side feeding it out. He was in my team but he's not anymore. Any thoughts/advice appreciated!

With the amount of spare cash you have, why not upgrade hallahan. Even one of those value guys around that 450-550 would be better imo. Either that or use it to upgrade your backline a bit, reckon you might be a premo short.

Do you really expect Wells to reach an average of 110 though? His best scoring year was 104.2 and it was 4 years ago. I think 88-98 is a more realistic estimate of his potential average this season.
100 - 110. An average of 100 will make him an easy upgrade to a fallen premium later in the year. An average of 110 will make him my M8.

In trying to correct some of the errors I made last year, I've gone for a riskier midfield than I usually would. I like my midfield, but it's the engine room of a good SC team and I worry that I don't have enough fire power, even though I highly rate these kids! I usually sell out on rucks, which has hurt me in the past so I've gone for gold and hope that these two can average 90+ and stay on the park. I had Jarryn Geary in my backline, but it felt a bit exposed, so I went with my gut and brought in James Kelly (who I still think is a POD, and I fancied getting him in there a month ago when SC opened). I ditched Macrae, despite the fact I think he can still dominate in a Griffin/Libba-less midfield. I want 3 out of Wines, Steven, Crouch and Neale, but I'm torn on which way to go. I'm going to wait out the rest of the NAB and see how Crouch and Neale go in the coming games.

Does anyone think Wines has the scoring ability of some of the guys around his price? I had Boak last year, so I was noticing Wines' name a lot when I was looking at the scoring, but when someone like Ryan Griffin is sitting right there, it makes me second guess. ANYWAY, this is my side. Thoughts?

Mitch Clarke?? If you're going to have a risk as a forward I'd go Hogan. Clarke hasn't played for God knows how long and has time away from the game.

Mitch will get more opportunities to score being in a better team, he'll also be in t ruck more than Hogan. Don't judge him off Nab1, I think he'll be much improved from it for next time. I assume he will have this week off and play nab3?

This. Walks on field = living up to start price.

Some of your finest work.

Yeah man. Before I even saw this post, I made the move. I didn't want Geary, so I needed 20k and took a punt on Brad Sheppard. Its out of him and KK.

If he stays fit, Wells will average 100+. Best pre-season he's had for a long time and he's moving as well as he ever has. Whether you're happy with ~100-105 or not is a different story.

DEF: Shaw, Hodge, Murphy, Newnes, Smedts, Goddard (Hamling, Rainbow)

MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Selwood, Cotchin, Wines, Heeney, Boekhurst, Laverde (Freeman, Lambert, Vandenberg)

Ruck: Maric, Luenberger (Read)

FWD: Goddard, Deledio, Franklin, Swan, Clark, Hogan (Lamb, Krakeour)

Thoughts?
Smedts out ASAP
