I'd prefer to pay for someone who will avg 120 especially in the mids.. Taking no risksHe'll average 90 and he's priced at 65. Seems like a bargain to me.

Why do people think this? I'm curious. Van Berlo will apparently be just another midfielder, and not tagger. He has the talent to earn.I wouldn't pick Van Berlo, not likely to score very high at all IMO. There will be 120K rookies that score more than him.
Only averaged more than 80 twice in his career, once way back in 2008 with 84 and 2012 with 87. Not exactly enticing. Why do people think this? I'm curious. Van Berlo will apparently be just another midfielder, and not tagger. He has the talent to earn.
Why are some people not choosing him? What reasons are there?
Cheers!!!

That seems like before he was tagging surely? For such a supreme runner they are low scores. Do you know when he was made to tag?Only averaged more than 80 twice in his career, once way back in 2008 with 84 and 2012 with 87. Not exactly enticing.
Not necessarily. I just made the team below with 500k still in the bank. Several undervalued premiums & potential premiums. Along with a few super-premiums to take advantage of C/VC scores.

For argument sake, lets say all the non rookie selections work out, at least up until Rd 6 & you're ranked top 1-3k with this side. Well you have 500k to make 2 early rookie upgrades without having to downgrade. #WINNING
On the negative side if 2-3 of the undervalued premo's and or mid pricers don't look like working out, you have the cash to upgrade them to proven super premo's, no real harm done.
Basically it gives you the option of taking a few risks initially, but with a safety net incase the risks dont work out. Better than putting all your eggs in a similar side except of maybe 1 more premium which is neither here nor there.
It's irrelevant when he was made to tag (I wasn't actually aware he did tag) because his scores have been consistent over his career. A year to year average breakdown looks like this:That seems like before he was tagging surely? For such a supreme runner they are low scores. Do you know when he was made to tag?
Thnx for reply too mate!

Rich is guaranteed to play. Off the backline with his accuracy? Just might be worth the risk, one I will take ATM!The most he has ever averaged is 90. Coming back from a year off, potentially playing in a different position, might not reach his peak again this year.
And the other thing is, if he averages 90 your gonna be trading him out anyway, less risk making coin with a couple of rookies.
He is not a consistent high possession winner regardless of the role. Why do people think this? I'm curious. Van Berlo will apparently be just another midfielder, and not tagger. He has the talent to earn.

For those of you who are having trouble deciding between premiums/which guns to pick - ask yourself this: will the premium i'm picking finish in the Top 10 for their position come seasons end? If the answer is no, don't pick them.

Fairly content with this team. Granted no midfield SUPERstar. I was once told playing supercoach without lil Gaz was like facing Shoaib Akhtar without a box. But I just cant bring myself to spend the money. #picktheaccountant
Rucks could be an issue, but I think Giles is well ahead of Belly and Zac Smith could be a great money earner. Rooks will be retweaked at the team naming for round 1.

Easier said than done predicting the top 10 in each position from year to year. As noted plenty of times on this forum, the midfield top 10 in particular changes dramatically each year.

I honestly think Durdin is about as likely to play this year as Mason Cox. There are much better ways to spend that 40kIN - Gray, Martin, Salem, Cripps
OUT - Ziebell, Mitchell, Cameron, Rich
Backs - Heath Shaw, Brodie Smith, Jack Newnes, Taylor Hunt, Jamie MacMillan, Nathan Brown (Shaun Edwards, Joel Hamling)
Mids - Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Matt Priddis, Patrick Dangerfield, Jack Steven, Nathan Van Berlo, Ben Newton, Patrick Cripps (Jed Anderson, Nathan Freeman, Trent Dumont)
Rucks - Todd Goldstein, Nic Naitanui (Sam Durdin)
Forwards - Robbie Gray, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Christian Salem, Mitch Clark, Jesse Hogan (Jack Steele, Nathan Krakouer)
Thoughts now?
I struggle to see why you would go Rich over Wells, even if you do want someone in that price range. Hasn't averaged much below 90 for most of his career, and has been over 100 a few times tooRich is guaranteed to play. Off the backline with his accuracy? Just might be worth the risk, one I will take ATM!
