You quoted bonts will end up as your f6. Thus putting him ahead of many who i think will average far far higher than him
So I'm calling you out toxic, after the NAB3 game, are you still bagging my suggestion that Bontempelli might finish in my team at F6?

so in your opinion who will he beat from:
Gray
Lids
Buddy
Dusty
Goddard
Bartel
Zorko
Ryder
Harley
Boomer
Cyril
Ruffy
Sawn
You continue to miss the point. Even the winner of SC last year didn't have the top 6 on every line at the end of the year. It might be a nice ideal to work for when you choose who to upgrade into but ultimately we have to make some sacrifices because there just aren't enough trades in this comp. That other comp where you get 2 trades every week is another thing, but that comp is for people who like nice simple shiny things.

To answer your question, I certainly believe that Bontempelli can finish with more total points in 2015 than Swan. He should easily score more points across the year than Ryder (if suspended) and Rioli (when injured).

Haven't missed the issue at all.
if you plan on finishing with him at f6 then for my line of thinking he'll be the 6th best scorer.
if due to circumstances he ends up being my f6 would i be upset...no

If i said Aswallow will be my m8..locked in...I'd slap myself as i think there will be 15-20 who outscore /out average him.if i end up with swallow as m8 would i be rapt no, would i be devastated no

This is where you are missing the point.

I get that, didnt mean he didnt PLAN for having then best 6 FWDS then have to compromise / alter during the season
You are either being a pedant or being dense on this. I really don't know which it is.

If you accept that there will inevitably be a compromise, what the hell does it matter whether there was ever some other unachievable plan?

Unachievable because we don't have enough trades, should we have the 7th best FWD and our plan was to replace with the 6th.

Just nonsense.

I think what he is trying to say is that if you START with them and plan to keep them until seasons end, you would be expecting them to end top 6.

At the end of the season you may not finish with the top 6 scorers, because some of the players you bring in may not be the best over the whole season, just the best at the time.

For eg. If you picked up Lewis after the byes, you would have picked up one of the top scorers for the second half of the year, but if you had him from the start he wasn't even top 10 mids.

Picking up a premo (or someone close to it) at the start of the year with the plan to keep them until the end, means you think they will be one of the top scorers in that position.

If you dont think that, then why pick them. Either pick them to have a fast start and then trade them for the next big mover, or dont have him at the start, and take that player you think will end top 6.

Is it suicide to start the season without both Ablett & Pendlebury? Can't believe I'm actually considering it, but I want to take advantage of the mid rookies and the mid value premos, and I'm leaning towards Fyfe as M1 instead of Pendles.

I'll be starting one of Pendles or Ablett depending on the status of GAJ.

Do people that are picking the likes of Higgins/Ibbo/KK/Titch expect them to finish top 6 in their position? I'm not so sure, they're seen more as a handy cut price player that can end up as a reasonable D6 or F6, not necessarily in the best 6 averages for the season.

In any other season I would say yes however this season with GAJ's shoulder probs and potentially not playing round 1, I reckon it might be necessary to not start with him. Pendlebury should be the first player picked after GAJ anyway and alongside him if you are going to pick GAJ.

Is Pendles v Fyfe really that clear cut though? Pendles I'm expecting to continue his consistency and average 125, Fyfe on the other hand I could see getting up around 130, his upside is enormous.

Fyfe is more of a risky pick with his injury history but could conceivably scale the 130+ ppg barrier this season, CD give him points for everything. If possible, I would go both.

Last season, Fyfe was well on his way to a 160 odd score in round 1 against Collingwood I believe it was when he was subbed out for 122 at 3/4 time by that turd Lyon and the only time he went under 100 was against the Dogs where he got a knock and was benched for large parts of that game (scored 76) (although only scored 87 against Sydney in the finals). He might be underpriced if you want to look at it that way.

I only have one of those four (Higgins). I don't expect him to finish at D6, but I think there is at least a 50/50 shot that it could happen. It's one of my long shots this year. I do think that his new club and also new role (won't play DEF) have decent upside, which is why he is in my team at D5.

Coaches who have multiple selection at $350-400k are truly mid-priced teams. But I think there is scope this year for some mid-price action on the DEF line given the lack of quality top price options. They all seem to be either 30+ or injury prone, etc. We need more D/M types and this year they took almost all of those away from us. Boo.

For the moment i've changed to 3-1-4 down back and 4-0-4 up forward, if bans are handed out it will definitely stay that way, if they are found not guilty then i'll once again be unsure if I can field 4 rookies down back.

Chopping and changing with the structure.
Currently sitting with.

Back: 2-3-3
Mid: 5-0-6
Ruck: 2-0-1
Fwd: 4-0-4

what $$$ value are you using to define structure?

hey guys never done super coach. is it hard to set up and maintain?
Cheers
