Midfield rookies the biggest concern at this stage.

Not many cheap options shouting pick me, put this together with some more expensive options in the midfield.

Reasonably happy with it.

Very very similar to what im rockin.. Ive got two premo set n forget rucks, one more mid (mid-premo) And one less in the fwd line.. Im looking at upgrading to lids, dollhouse and co later on..

Im waiting on Lids.. That niggle hes got may have given him a set back, might be 4 to 5 away from real quality form

Yeh, rucks a very weak too imo. Gotta have Goldy, your shooting yourself in the foot by not havin him.. NM have a very easy first ten weeks.. Goldy will be averaging 130 - 150, then he'll drop after the byes

Imo, for that side to work youre definitely hoping wells, bartel and libba will be 100% keepers, or theres not enough cashola to upgrade them and the rest

Any other Crow posters have a good feel for this kid Milera?

Can't see him being a big scorer, but with Knight and Cameron likely out early, I'd be surprised if he doesn't play the first few games.
I'm not sure he's worth the 50k extra though.

I'd say he's borderline. Charlie was having a great Pre-season before injury, and Knight pretty much stamped his place in the Best 22 in last year's finals.
Then you have Menzel.
If all 4 of them are fit, I'd probably say 1 misses. At this stage, Menzel would be my tip, but it's 50/50 with Milera.

Charlie is probably 40/60 to be right for round 1. Probably won't play a NAB game though, so might be given an SANFL game. Was in ripping form before injury though, so he'd be solidly best 22.
So I'd expect Milera to probably play the first 3 games, then depending on how much he stamps his place in the side as to how much longer than that he stays.
I wouldn't be banking on him being a big cash cow.

I'm interested that so many guys reckon the best rookies are in the fwd line and not defence.

I understand wells, Milera and menadue but I reckon as a set and forget defensive rookie combo it's hard to go past weiter, brown and Hartley.

Sure, they won't score huge too often, but surely they'll play 22 games which at this stage is solid gold. And cheaper too

Am I missing something?

Menzel hasn't done anything this preseason, very lazy footballer.

Milera is all class, will setup numerous goals every week IMO.

Yeah, pretty much.
Forwards have guys that you know are going to be good though, in Kerridge and Wells. Then a few others, McCarthy, Menadue, Cox, Tippa (also back), Kommer, Grimley, Petracca, with more expensive options like Milera, Cockatoo, Wright, Kennedy, Langford, Simpkin, Anderson.
Backs have those 3 guys, who warrant starting on the field, but that's pretty much the only 3 that look likely to get games. A few more expensive options like Dea, Mullett, Whitecross, Francis, Cowan.
So, while backs have 3 fantastic options, who just are a question of how much they will score, forwards have a lot more depth and options.

D.menzal is an interesting one! Sub 300 with the potential to generate good amounts of cash..

I'm starting to consider him.

Would be a POD compared to Wells.

Sure makes things interesting. I reckon there's gonna be a fair bit of sameness through a lot of midfields (at least amongst posters in here anyway) so deciding whether to go stronger in def or fwd could be the make or break call to get that early jump

King just a placeholder for the moment. Have replaced Fyfe with Parker. B Crouch likely to become M Crouch prior to the season proper. Do have room to move if a rookie or midpricer puts their hand up. $258k left over at the moment.

Will probably hold onto Petracca even if he doesn't make it for round 1. Unless he has a setback he won't be far away.

A really good example of a not to midpriced team. Still 11-12 keepers.

Should score well early and with the right trades could keep up the the top 5%.

Good team for winning a league too IMO. Save your trades and upgrade those midpricers to premos at the byes.

I'm guessing under the guidelines that Smith, Greene, B Crouch and Libba would be considered mid pricers in my team? Was surprised at KP's comment (I know, who'd of though, sarcasm in this thread ). Of those 4 I would anticipate at the very least that Libba and Greene will be keepers. Think Smith will have a better year too after concussions hampered him last year. B Crouch likely to get culled for someone else as I have my doubts he'll be there for round 1. As I said though, have 258k to play with.
