Gov or Yeo to rook maybe.
Then get Libba in maybe.
I'm still 50/50 on on Libba. Averages 90 and he only goes up 100k at the byes.
Averages 110 he goes up 200k.

Big difference in cash made if he doesn't become a keeper. Good stepping stone though.

Barring injuries I think I'm settled for round 1

Shaw, McGovern, Sheridan, Weitering, Dea, Hartley - broad, Collins

Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Viney, M Crouch, Libberatore, Wells, Mills - Dale, Gresham, Hibberd

Martin, Gawn - Currie

Delidio, Barlow, Greene, Stringer, Kerridge, Brown - Petracca, Cox

There's a few things I like about it, and a few things that stand out.
I don't mind the Brown in forwards move (I've been playing with that myself), but considering you're running 3 rookies on the field in backs (and Gov, who injures himself every second week), I'd be wanting Adams or Tippa to allow you to switch Brown back if needed.
I also like the Petracca/Wells switch. Gives a bit of flexibility there. I'd personally switch Kerridge to mid, but that's horses for courses.
Things I don't like:
You've got too many speculative picks for mine and not enough solid keepers.
McGovern, Sheridan, Viney, Crouch, Wells, Greene and Stringer is too many 'they might be keepers' picks. You've effectively got 8 lock in keepers in Shaw, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Martin, Gawn, Deledio, Barlow) and that's not even considering that you're ignoring the ruck who is 18ppg better than any others entering the year. That's just not enough, for mine.
Stringer just isn't a good pick for mine. He had a fantastic year last year, made AA, and averaged 78. He only hit 100 3 times in the year. Yes, he's cheap, but there's a reason for it. Last year, he kicked 3 goals or more 10 times, he only scored over 100 in the games he scored 5 or more. His game just doesn't lend itself to Fantasy. If you're picking a key forward, you want their big games to be 150s and their 3 goal games to be 95+. That's just not the case with Stringer. There's no role change, he's not underpriced through injury, he's just averaging what he averages. He had a bit of an uptick at the end of the year, but not a substantial enough one to suggest that he's going to become a keeper.
McGovern is pretty much the same story. I look at his scoring and nothing jumps out at me to say 'Pick Me'. You have other guys around his price who have a documented history of high scoring, or are showing a genuine reason why they would improve. I don't see it with McGovern (other than that 1 pre-season game that was heavily boosted by him kicking the winning goal). I look at his FF note for last game and it says 'Troublesome left shoulder got tweaked yet again in Q4'. So he's already showing signs of injury, which is enough of a red flag, without the uncertainty about his scoring. I do now see that he's a F/B, though, so my point above about not having a way to bring Brown across is potentially moot, but that switch isn't as useful when one of those players is an intended keeper (so you're not planning on him getting injured or needing to be covered).
I really don't think you can carry Viney, Crouch and Liberatore in the same midfield. Especially when you have 2 other guys in the 200k bracket too. You can maybe afford Liber and one of the other 2, but not all 3. It's just too much money invested in the short term.
I feel like there's too much hoping and not enough certainty in this team.

Gawn has struggled to play out a season in the past.
Do those that have chosen him believe that he will change this season?

righto hit me with the feedback
For starters, I'd ditch McCarthy and put Menadue on field in the forwards. Menadue is too expensive for the bench.
You have probably overspent on your mids, which reflects in other lines. That's not saying that any are not worthy of selection, there's just too many of them. Not sure how Tippett will go as a starting ruck, I'd prefer him in the forward line and grab another premium ruck.
I'm not a fan of starting 3 budget rookie defenders, I'd rather an extra one in the mids and have a possible keeper in the backs (Sheridan, Smith, Lonergan).
How much cash do you have left?

I haven't posted my team for a while, so here's what it looks like at the moment.

$12,600 remaining in the kitty, so if Walla and Ruggles don't get up, I'll need to trim the fat, (Currie first, then Danger to Pendles, after that I'm stuffed).

What are the thought? Gone very heavy in the Midfield (top 5 most expensive)
Pretty awesome. You joined March 16, 7 days from now with your first post. Impressive.

Not sure about Webb, but then I think he is only a bit more expensive than Wietering and will play every game. Weits will get rested.... a lot IMO.
Heeney interesting, I don't like the Chol inclusion. but really, great username, and good team IMO. Rich, is a BIG gamble. Too big for me.

That was before his breakout. He simply didn't play because he was a spud.

Now he is awesome, will play 22 and avg 115+
Hope your right...started with goldy/Stefan then to save some coin and to have a ruck play each week in the bye rounds, traded Stefan to gawn.

Speaking of,no ones talking byes yet...or did I miss that thread.

Sorry man but way too many average players for my liking, players like Rich, Webb, Polec, Lobbe & Betts are at an awkward price and will most likely be around the same price at the end of the year. If youre going to go for a midpricer it should be somebody like Libba for eg .. he has the potential to average over 100 as he has done it before. None of those blokes you have chosen have done that before and probably wont going by their history.

Most of your midfield is mint though !

Alright fellas, ready to be torn apart for the Kruezer selection. Just cant find anyone else that has more upside than him for the same price ! Thoughts ?

I think there's options who have more upside with a lesser price tag.. I wouldn't imagine Kreuzer would be pumping out numbers far superior to a Zac Smith or Matthew Lobbe. Both are cheaper, scores will be similar.

I think the rest of the side is around the mark.

Zac Smith has never averaged over 80 and has Vardy, Blicavs to compete with. Lobbe ? well lets just say that average of 70 last year after playing nearly every game has really put alot of distance between him and my side.

Kruezer has only ever averaged under 90 in his few seasons. With a full pre season under his belt, dunno man but think he is the right choice.

I'd go down and up with Murphy and Kreuzer. Be that Kreuzer up to Gawn/ Martin/Nat or Murphy up to Shaw, I think that will solve that issue.

If you down the back, there's a few options. If you go Gawn or Nat, I think it fits to go Murphy to Smith. If you go Martin, you have Lonergan or Sheridan.

Going down in ruck is a bit more difficult. I think Lobbe fits, but yeah, I didn't really think that side of it through.

I actually don't mind the look of your side, the whole team is a POD to the stock standard structure of most others. However like Pogue mentioned you've prob overspent a little in the mids so my suggestion would be to;

Downgrade Duncan to say maybe Mills,
Move McDonald FWD in place of McCarthy,
Swap Menadue with Petracca,

Then with the money left over bring in a mid priced defender....if you need extra cash maybe downgrade Fyfe or Danger to Pendles......that way you strengthen your backs and still have a strong centre line.

I like the POD in the rucks as I'm tossing up with starting with Tippet there myself :thumbsu:
