They added heaps round 6 last year.
It is actually going to effect us more than I thought.

As above I counted 53. With that many (assuming it's similar this year) there must be a few new forward premo's we will want.

Round 6 is very early. Curnow may be high enough to upgrade by then.
Not many will be with cheaper starting prices though.

Maybe, but most will have at least 1 or more of Ward, Macrae, Daicos, JHF. If they start well they could be mooing by round 6. It's all about the spike games, need a couple of these kents to go big round 4/5.

My plan is to use all my trade boosts from round 7 onwards.
7,8,9,10,11 I will use 3 trades each week.
Then 3 each week of the byes.
I wont be moving round 6 IMO. Its to early.

That's interesting, I'm thinking to use two of them during the second two weeks of the byes. 4 trades each week basically guarantee's a full team (except the ruck line). Could even allow for sideways trading premo's.

With my oddball set up the three trade weeks are golden to get in the mids I need.
If all works to plan. I will do my last mid upgrade round 12. 2 down, 1 up each week for 6 weeks.

Are you really going to do that? You'll have a forward line of Butters/Weller/TT types vs Marshall/Danger/other gun mid's surely? You'll be in pain later in the season if you get those picks wrong as it will be hard to sideway's AND pick the SP mid's you need at over $600k.

I like the thinking of getting value at the start, but not sure this is the year for it.

I wouldn't have thought so.
I set up like 4 accounts including my own last year for friends/family.
I don't really do anything when the season starts.
I'm just into the game a bit more than most of my mates so I help them.
You don't ever want them to have the same team as you so you do try different things.

We chat about each trade. She just wants to pick the hot players all the time.

If these changes have been made because of what might happen to the season with covid then fair enough.

But there is a huge potential that too many teams will end up looking the same.

Teams are already almost identical and with 5 extra trades and now ‘trade assists’ along with the 10000 podcasts and articles weekly telling everyone who to start with and who to trade in and out, eventually gonna get midway through the season and have 2-3 uniques in matchups

This is why I’ve long argued to bring the starting salary cap down from 10M to 8M. Shake it up a bit. Bring mid prices and variety in to the game. Why is there a desire to achieve full premo?

Hence why I’m putting more effort into drafts this year. Seeing different teams (obviously) but picking players you’d never consider in classic, having 18 v 18 uniques (or whatever the league size is) every week in your matchups instead of classic leagues 5-6 unique match ups. There’s an element of skill where as now for classic all you need to know is how to read the 10000 herald sun articles every week and pre season on ‘how to pick a winning team in 2 minutes’.

As for your suggestions for classic, I’d 100% be all for it. I’ve long been a supporter of Friday night lockouts, no rolling lockouts, 20 trades and lower salary cap. Otherwise the way it’s trending I see classic becoming unplayable for ‘serious’ SuperCoachers in the near future

id be more hoping for an epl fantasy pricing type. the more people jump on. the higher the price goes.. dunks would be like 1mill sorta thing. see how you go going full premo with that! puts more reward into picking the players before the hype.
