To Goodes or not to Goodes, that is the question.

So My dilemma. Do I add Goodes in my team or leave him out? currently he is in there but he is the only player i am umm-ing and ahh-ing about. I got 50,000 left in the bank, do I have a better option. What do you think?

Dilemma for a bench forward spot - Isaaz Smith or Cam Richardson?

Other bench spots are Darling & Callinan ATM

Richardson for sure, he should play 22 games, has a mature body and looked at home in the NAB cup as one of North's best performers

Richardson easily like has been said, however will you have the presence of mind to pick the better player even if that means cheering on a North Melbourne player?

I actually have a soft spot for North so that makes it easier, not harder ;)

Whats peoples thoughts on chappy? still a keeper? My fwd line atm is

Forwards:

Champman, N. Riewoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Sylvia, Matera, C. Richardson (Darling, I. Smith, Callinan)

Thinking of down grading Champan or pav for maybe dangerfield, or should I leave it?

Keeper. He played 21 games last year, and has had a full pre season indicating he should play at least another 20 games this year (hopefully). He rotates through the midfield a fair bit each week and has no trouble picking up 30 or more touches or kicking 3 or 4 goals. Very reliable, and has averaged over 114 for the last 2 season, which I wouldn't expect to change to much this year. If you want to get rid of someone let Pav go. He seems to be past his best, still capable of averaging over 100 but not in the same league as Chappy anymore.

Round 6 will be bad if you've got Mzungu in the mids as coverage.

Chapman has not had a full preseason.

The number of Prems is fine- it's the number of players having a bye in the same round and the guaranteed donut that comes with it that you gotta watch out for!

Yeah these bye's are killer, I guess ill see how things play out as we approach round 1 and make some decisions from there

OK my bad, jumped the gun a bit there, and I shall re phrase, as far as Chapman's Hammy is concerned he has had a good pre seaon. Like all older players he has to deal with a few niggles. He was ristricted for a short time early in the summer with a calf complaint, and has a bit of groin soreness, but otherwise has been training well. Geelong will take a cautious approach with him due to his history but compared to other pre seasons he seems to be in good shape.

Never-the-less Chappy is a keeper, and I would take him. My apologies for the fallacy, thank you for correcting me SJ.

And he hasn't played a preseason game yet, and probably won't.

Last few years he's played most of the preseason.

They reckon he is a chance to play in the final pre season game.

Probably already been discussed but anyone taking a punt on knights this year? pretty damn cheap!

also franklin or rioli?

Knights has a pretty big injury cloud hanging over his head, so i would steer clear. I think Franklin will go better this year, but there is no reason why Rioli cant be just as good if not better. Franklin has proven that he can be one of the best performing forwards when both he and hawthorn are on song (Which they should be this year). Rioli ended the year well, the only question is if he can carry it into this season. 6 one and half a dozen the other. Flip a coin :p

Richardson had been in and out of my side but now think will be staying in. Be interesting to see how he goes in NAB Challenge games (is that what they are called this year!?)

I watched games today and Petrie didnt really seem to have much of a impact at all. I know this is a bit critical and harsh because as expected the "slow getting back into the swing of things" factor but I was starting to have doubts also...

I think he is running around in match situation and probably being a dummy target dragging the main defender out whilst getting match fitness. last thing we want is for him to get hurt. so its a slowly slowly approach with him

Now that Callinan has gone, it's thrown a bit of a spanner in the works for my team. I need another forward rookie, suggestions are welcome :p.

Looking at Shaun Mckernan or John Butcher, what are peoples thoughts on their chances for regular games?

I think McKernan kicked another 3 yesterday against the blues. Looks likely to get a spot.
