Re: Hidden Gems - Forwards

Haven't seen much love for Stevey J on this board. Anyone considering him in their team? He seems to be injury free and has done pretty well over the NAB cup/challenge games. Is there something I am missing?

Think he's more of a DTer than SCer

Liam Jurrah anyone? Put up some decent scores late last season...

He does the incredible but in trying to do so makes a lot of clangers which is a killer in SC.

Bradshaw struggling again for us. Wait until Rd1 teams are announced Lewis Johnston might get a run, although i don't think he'll get big scores like.

Had Nic Reiwoldt as a lock the whole way through, am now worried that his new "I can't kick over a jam tin" routine will render him goalless this season and greatly devalue his SC value.
Anyone else having 2nd thoughts on Rooey?

Still a lock for me. His contested marking scores him heaps of points and the goals are the icing on the cake.

Too good a player to leave out.

Nope, the only forward pretty much i have as a certainty in my team. Only because Rd6 is throwing a spanner into the works over player selection. Chappy has injury concerns, Franklin suspension problems, Rioli bit up and down, but was consistent late. Boomer not getting any younger. Pav i;m fairly certain on though.

Pavlich v. Didak.

No problem cash wise or team structure wise re byes.

Anyone know if Didak has just been held back and been in full training for a fair while?

Only 77 SC points are tonights effort. I'd say No.

Krakouer on the other hand is now a lock.

Pendlebury might be edging out Swan also.
1. Thats including 4 free kicks against, I highly doubt that will be a regular occurrence. I'm considering him.

2. Yes, like we needed more reason to have him.

3. I agree, thats why I have Pendlebury and not Swan to start the season..

What about Walker?? 7 goals against your mob tonight. Could be in for a big year.

Every forward at the crows 'could be in for a big year'. The fact is the Crows have to many strong forwards who take the spotlight of each other week in week out.

You look at the names Dangerfield, Porplyzia, Knights, Walker, Tippett, Henderson, Callinan. SO MUCH talent yet the highest average from 1 of these guys was 70 last year and only Tippett played 22 games (but is now gunna mis the start of the season due to injury). Every one of them is inconsistent and/or Injury prone.

I feel like taking a risk between Yarran and L. Davis. Who is the better option? Both could be playing off half back this year.

Far better options IMO

Thoughts on B Green and P Dangerfield

Green should continue to score well. Dangerfield will probably give in to all the hype like he did last year. he's far to expensive for me to even consider

Yarran is an interesting one this year. If your going to go for one of those two then Yarran is the better option.
Racked up 30+ possessions against adelaide last week and was BOG by a country mile sweeping across half back.
His disposal is almost perfect every week, is going to be a designated kicker out of defence, can kick goals, lays a tackle. Is going to be a good unique pick imo.

Out of the carlton team he's the one Im tipping to have a break out season.
Id be keeping an eye on what happens in the praccy match against geelong today. If he puts in another show like he did against adelaide then he's definitely worth a look.

I'm thinking the same. If he fires vs Cats today, looks a definite good gamble

think leon will play that role all year. Locked him into my side. As long as he stays fit and in in that role he'll finish in top 6 forwards

Krakouer on the other hand is now a lock.

The first time he'd been taken out of my side was Thursday night...just felt I had found the perfect structure (imho of course! :D)...

...and he goes and does that last night.

[Needless to say, some team reconditioning going on atm. ]
