I wouldn't touch him. Doesn't have enough pedigree as a high scorer to make the $150-200k you'd be hoping for, and I doubt he's going to average the 95+ of a keeper in the forward line.
He's the only KPF that GC seems to have, but he was literally the last slot they filled on their main list which doesn't fill me with confidence. I'd be staying the hell away unless he can show that he's a lock for Round 2 during the pre-season. I doubt he will, so nay.

One of the big probLems with JB is that the Lions will be getting smashed quite a bit. How much of the ball will he be getting. He'll obviously be the main target but will he be getting double or even triple team

JB's been double and triple teamed even when Bradshaw was playing and was scoring well. Fev was the first time since Lynch that JB wasn't, which was obviously when he exploded to start last year. I think you'd probably see regular 100+s with Brown on his own, but not so much the 150+ he turns out from time to time.

Anyone going to go near Tippett again this year? Burnt a lot of people early in the year but finished off OK.
I'm not overly keen on having Hale or Petrie as starting forwards but wouldn't mind some ruck/fwd mpp with Petrie on the bench in my rucks.
Considering a forward line of:
w/ ruck MPP
Riewoldt, Franklin, O'Keefe, S.Johnson, A.Krakouer + Pavlich, Tippett
(Callinan, Richardson, Prestia)
or
no ruck MPP
Riewoldt, Franklin, O'Keefe, S.Johnson, A.Krakouer + Chapman, Knights
(Callinan, Richardson, Prestia)

Slight back problems still but they aren't affecting his movement at all... with Westhoff, Stewart and Schulz shining at the end of last year, Butcher will have to start to dominate in the SANFL before getting his shot, although I do see him playing this year. Recently, Chad in an interview said he's lighting it up at training. Will be a star, won't be his breakout year however.
Does anyone know if Sam Day will play from rd 1 for Gold Coast? I honestly believe he is a once in a generation player, but dunno if they're gonna try and 'develop' him more, or will they blood him from the get go by throwing him in the deep end?

Sorry, well Pettard is 367k so abit high/risky, Grant is 361k and fyfe is 353.
I dont really trust Okeefe in my team this year so maybe downgrade to one of them and have 100ishk left? or swap one for Tippet maybe

I think Petterd could average 90-95 which is a cheap keeper potentially. I can't see Grant or Fyfe managing that so would avoid them. The other option would be to scrape together $100k somewhere and get a real keeper.

On the topic of JB I will be avoiding him, the big fella has athritic hips and won't be able to get the k's in his legs. Will still pull out some huge games but would be lucky to play 15+ games.

Yeah, Petterd definitely could. Problem is, despite having a full pre-season, he's injury prone - played 6 games last year. Also, he tweaked his hammy in our intra-club. Dean Bailey said it barely graded as an injury, but considering his history...I'm not picking him.
Grant isn't worth his price, in my opinion. Look, he can have those 5+ goal games, but he's still relatively young and inconsistent. It depends on how you think he'll go, but personally, he's not going to have a breakout season.

Didak will play the same role as he did last year rotating through the middle, so if your willing to pay he is worth it.
I had Rioli at the start of the year last year on got burnt, but second half he looks to have settled. If he has a full pre season he should be able to hold that form.
I might be a little bias here but Varcoe is only going to improve, if your willing to take a punt his price will rise, but he may not have the consistancy of other forwards so you just have to wiegh up between potential and consistency. He should be getting 90+ a game.
LeCras is a quality player in a crap team, cant see him kicking 12 goals a game again, and at 400K he is at an akward price for the player he is. Similar to Varcoe with consistency, but I think there is more upside to Varcoe.
If your not willing to spend money on Didak or Rioli you should look at a rookie instead and just go for the cash Mzungu, and Richardson are your obvious choices, Ben Johnson from geelong has raised a few eyebrows as well if your looking for something different. But if you want to spend 400K i'd go Varcoe.
