Yeh, I agree completely...really annoyed me that I used 3 trades...I recall

Cox, Hille (injured)
then Cox (injured), Petrie
then Fraser (injured), Petrie
then Clark, Petrie

The Fraser trade was OMG..

Same with me, last year i used three trades as well. Started with Hille and Luenburger (what was I thinking). Then traded Hille to Fraser when he got injured, then Luenburger to Kruezer and finally Fraser out to McIntosh.

Mind you every day i seem to want Hille in my team more and more, would let me upgrade my forward or backline which needs attention.

Trading Cox out for Fraser wasn't one of your greatest moves last season Prompts, it was up there with refusing to make Ablett captain even though you had him.

I remember when you traded in Fraser and I was thinking to myself "Prompts has been on the turps again" because Fraser was playing with a knee injury and it was a risk picking him knowing that he is very injury prone.

Having said that I picked Hille last year and am picking him again this year as 2nd ruck.

Think I might just spend some extra coin and have a set & forget ruck combo this year and lock in Sandilands and Clark for (hopefully) 22 rounds. Sandi is a gun and Clark dominates whenever he's put into the ruck (and with Charman going down he'll get plenty of opportunity). Should net me 200 points a week.

A lot of other cheaper rucks all have question marks. Kreuzer playing a lot in the forward may hurt his scores/halt any major improvement, Tippet will improve but will again lack consistency, Ottens could injure himself again and won't be a keeper, Hille is a good bet but his role is unsure and probably won't be a keeper.

Kreuzer and Warnock looked to be rotating through ruck and deep defence on Friday, with Henderson and Waite (for a while) up forward.

I really should have been ranked top 100 last year..instead of ranked 188...

A few masterful trades and a few shockers...LOL... It's all good...

I double trade TWICE!!....ie trade in then trade out the same player

I think I trade in Bowden then out (admittingly he did good while he was in the team)....this year no double trades...lol

Anyone know of any any basement price rookie rucks that might get a game or two this year?

Unfortunately with the new pricing system this year rookies that have been on an AFL list for more than one year are at least 100k instead of 83k. Will Sullivan would become very popular otherwise.

Jolly is a solid choice but he's in a new team and with a new team comes with a new style. Collingwood wouldnt have much ruck contests as they do compare to the swans so less points?

I think Roughhead is on senior list, but I read somewhere that Grimley would be an option (due to Ruck delimma at Hawks)....

Barely anyone below Warnock will play, if they do they'll struggle to get more than 8-10 games and won't average above 40 odd. If you need them to play more than 1 game you're really struggling you'll be losing as much as 60-80 points each time they're on the field.
If you're selecting Tippet in the forwards, which should only be because you think he'll score well enough to justify selection then choose Lobbe. Otherwise spend as little as possible. Trades set aside for injury are there to be used and will make you a lot of points when used in the rucks.

If you want desperately cheap you could do worse than Broc McCauley. We always seem to have rucks going down with issues, and he's a mature aged rookie picked up from the QAFL.
