McEvoy 102 and 106 tonight. How did he look around the ground though?

Don't read anything into the scores for the 1st round of the NAB cup. Think about it, they're scoring the same and sometimes better in 40 mins of football than what they do in 120 min + stoppage time.

My Rucks: Goldstein, Warnock (Petrie, Bailey) have K.Tippett in the forward line so when NMFC have the bye i can sub Petrie into the forward line with Tippett; bench goldstein so that Warnock and Tippett r my rucks; have Petrie benched on the in the forward line and have a scoring forward replacing Tippett who was in the forward line. Its complicated at the moment :p

But I'll most likely change it lookin at the teams going into rd1 of the AFL season...

BERBA, it's her team mate. It's ok to give out advice and point people in the right direction, but being a smart arse doesn't help anyone.

Been having a rethink about my rucks. Have had 211, Cox/Jolly, J Tippett & Z Smith pencilled in for a while, but with the byes, and Petrie missing round 1, I'm thinking of any alternative strategy. I looked at who I considered were the four cheapest starting 21 rucks. McEvoy, Petrie, Hale & Smith were four of the five who stood out. All four look underpriced to me. Would have Fraser instead of McEvoy/Hale, but will eat a donut round 1. Clearly there's plenty of others to choose from at this price range, but these 4 look to have the best job security, and also will have a high % TOG. None have bye clashes either.

Not overly sold on the idea, but it means a) I don't have to carry Tippett, can use another rookie in the fwds/mids instead, b) i save about $300K for upgrading my backs & fwds c) i have (fingers crossed) 4 nailed on starters. It means i have to upgrade later on, but hopefully McEvoy can become a viable No.2 option. I lose out on points obviously in this area, but I'm thinking the flexibility here will save me a little in trades, and gain me a reasonable amount in cash.

At present I have: Sandilands, Mumford - Bench: Petrie / Fraser

Plus, Hale in the forward line as a sub for Petrie. Hoping that I can avoid trades for the whole season with my rucks, at least until I trade away Petrie & Fraser for profit..

Gone against my earlier plan to have Bailey / Z Clarke in the ruck bench spot. Fraser, I think, will score far more consistently than Clarke. Bailey will struggle for a game tbh, and is too injury prone to start with. As I see it, hawks will surely start with Renouf / Hale as our ruck combo after trading for Hale. Hope Big Max plays all 22 from a supporters viewpoint, but for supercoach, I'm avoiding for now..

I currently have S Jacobs Mcenvoy Petrie and Z Smith. Hoping the youth and bigger roles of Jacobs and Mcenvoy will mean improvment in scores.

Also, seeing as most teams will have sandi, if he has a poor game/ gets injuried it will be a great advantage to me. Bit of a punt though.

Also Mcenvoy v Warnock .....thoughts?

One thing you will hear from seasoned SC'ers is to never go cheap in the rucks. You will end up having to upgrade them and just waste trades.

McEvoy has to increase at least 30ppg from last year if he is to become a keeper, whilst Sam Jacobs has to not get injured and increase by at least 20ppg. That's too fairly large risks.

And good luck with the not having Sandi - Sure every 5-6 games your ruckman could score more than everyone else.

^^^ This. There is a reason Sandi was one of the first players many people locked in. Very few ruckman will average over 100. In the last few years only Cox and Sandilands have managed that, and becuase of that they have frequented many supercoach teams.

Rucks are not spot you want to have to fiddle with through out the season, go with those who are reliable because the vast majority of supercoaches will and you dont want to be caught out trying your luck with potential. Mcevoy or Jacobs for R2, but go with a proven performer for R1

hows kreuzer's pre season been so far?

Non-existent from a contact perspective. Doing a lot of fitness/strength work but purely only rehab stuff thus far. I suspect he'll play in the final NAB Challenge game though but Carlton aren't letting on too much.

There was an article teh other day suggesting there is no chance he'll play round 1. More likely that he'll return via the VFL, so may not even see him until mid-year.
