Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Tippett to Ottens,
Wells to Rischitelli?

or Tippett to Seaby
Wells to Boak?

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Out - Tippett
In - Kruezer? Seaby? Ottens?
Personally, I wouldn't jump the gun and trade Tippett.

But I'd say Seaby. I like Kreuzer more, but the fact is, you would be just trading sideways. At least get something out of it. Ottens isn't one you should consider a heap.

Did the unthinkable: Traded out Gazza and replaced him with Kane Cornes, then with the left over cash upgrade B Hall to Roo. J Brown has more upward potential however I see Roo as the more consistent performer. There will never be a lack of feed from St Kilda midifield and now with Kosi suspended he should do well in the immediate future. Was toying with Tippet but decided to keep him. Since he's in my forward line there are plenty of alternatives. I wouldn't recommend Tippet as ruck though, a good ruckman must be consistent, and there's so such thing as a cheap but good rookie in the ruck so any backups will be expensive, better lessen the need of a backup instead.

I have some weakness is in the ruck, partly due to pre-season push for Gazza. With only Seaby, Natuini and Hill plus Warnock, 3 not quite premiums plus a rookie. Seaby is having a good run but not convinced it will be sustained, but hopefully the other rookie stock (Hitchcock/Macguire/Barlow/Martin)would've cashed in by then for an upgrade or 3.

The questionables are Krakouer/Kennelly/Gumbleton/Jetta/C Masten..

Sorry, but I don't get it...

Anyway...

Just one more opinion. I think I'll definately do this unless there's a glaring hole.

OUT: Ball, Gray
IN: Dangerfield (I have ROK, Pav and Ziebell up forward), Brown

The reality is you're trading two premiums out for a Premium and a mid pricer. I really think Ball will come good, So will Gray. Brown won't kick a big every week, but i like Dangerfield you might need to squeeze him in somehow.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Thanks Guys!

But you have just presented me with a new dilema lol Seaby or Kruezer? I see the value in Seaby, why is he priced so low? Is he up and coming as well and didn't get his chance at the eagles?

And being a Carlton man is hard to resist not bring in Kreuzer, he plays like a rover more than a ruckman and i tend to think he's always gonna get lots of stats! but yeah agreed with the trading sideways, but he sort of does look like getting consistant scores over 100, will seaby do that too or is it just a purple patch?

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Hey need some opinions on my Tippett woes.

I am tossing up with tactic here on whether to go with a rookie in Carl Peterson & save lots of money or go with a popular pick and improving mid priced player Pat Dangerfield???

Can I please have some opinions.

Thankyou in advance!

..

To be honest I think that's a FAIL:thumbsdown:

But you never know it could work... all the best..

Not sure if you are joking but basically what you are saying is:

Roo + Kornes is better than
Ablett + Hall + 2 trades

I think Luke Ball is a hack (traitor is probably the better word, but then again, he knew he wasn't good enough for us) and that Robbie Gray was a mistake.

But you're opinion is probably closer to reality :)

Seaby was always 2nd/3rd fiddle to Cox/Gardiner at the Weagles, averaging around 55 since he started in 2004 (hence his low price). Rucks do take time, but I'm not sure anyone (perhaps some Eagles fans) would have expected him to burst out of his shell quite like this now that he's number 1 ruck. I picked White for my 2nd ruck, thinking he'll also go forward and kick some goals. Feeling pretty stoopid now, let me tell you...

Your man Kreuzer is a freak though- he's like Cox a year or two ago -incredible mobility and speed that big blokes often don't have, plus he's bulked up a bit since last year. Top rucks this year will be these two and Sandilands (my no 1).

Can't use a trade this week for either of the other ruckmen yet- bigger fish to fry.

Hurn-> O'Brien/Hunt/Ladson (which one?) Rest of my backs: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Malceski, Hooker, Maguire (Silvagni, Nason)

Hall-> Brown. other forwards Roo, RoK, Waite, Medhurst, Warren, Walker (Rockliff, Roberts)

I know Hurn will come back fine and will probably still hit the 90's, but I've got to make sacrifices to fix that forward line. This should leave me with a good swag in the kitty for next week to fix my other glaring error mentioned above.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Seaby is priced so low because he didn't get a chance at the rucks at West Coast. Cox and later in the year Nic nat were golden, there was no room for him. So he dropped in value, and again by moving clubs.
Go with Seaby.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Any feedback, Traded K.Tippet for M.Kruezer.
K.tippet playing melbourne though however mark Jamar is dominating any ruckmen he goes up against.

Good trade, bad trade??????/

Not sure if you are joking but basically what you are saying is:

Roo + Kornes is better than
Ablett + Hall + 2 trades

If it didn't work out...it's material for the worst trade thread!

In terms of expected round 3 values, Roo will +, Kornes will ++, whereas,
Ablett will - unless he pulls a blinder (but I've noticed Ablett is not getting the same kind of protection from his team mates 1 or 2 years ago), and Hall will not change much.

The 2 trades hurt, but my objective is for consistency, which Hall lacks (I don't doubt he will get some big scores, but for forward premiums I prefer HF than FF).

I do not lack cash cows on the bench with barlow/martin/waters/macguire/Hitchcock/Jetta and Gumbleton. Lucky so far no injuries and all rookies are due to play their 3 games.

The real other issue is having to pick up a caption out of RoK/Roo/Cooney every round. But hopefully can grab Gazza back later (waste another 2 trades...)

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Well you've done it now, should of posted the question before you did it lol

which is what i have done! for the same trade! and so far i've been told to go seaby instead, and i'm slowly being convinced! However it's not a bad trade, Kreuzer is definately gonna score better than Tippet!

Go with Hurn>O'brien
Should rack up the points this week with Shaw out, and let's face it Hunt/Ladson will never be keepers.
Hall>Brown is a good trade, But i'm not sold on Medhurst, If you have enough cash go for Medhurst, as Hall wouldn't have served his purpose.

If you have plenty of other cash cows and no immediate injuries hold the course and do not trade if you can help it.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Ok...this is what I did...

Thursfield -> Malceski
Deledio -> Travis Boak

I hope this gambit pays off!!!

Kreuzer is not guaranteed to score better than Tippet over 22 rounds.

Kruezer could get injured, Tippett can return to form in a few weeks and post some big scores like last year, anything can happen.

Yes, but using the trades is the bad thing...

The value of Ablett may drop and allow others to jump on board and you may feel like you are losing dollars (on a relative basis), however if you keep him you it won't impact you... Ablett is apparently playing bad but he is averaging 126!!

I don't want to give my suggestion nor say too much as you've already traded..but the trades may hurt you near the end.. But all the best man...

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Have done -

Out: Masten, Tippett
In: Jetta, Browndog

Originally wasn't planning to trade at all but the Tippett knee and form and everything else is playing on my mind. I think he's too much of a liability especially with the value he will lose. Have gone with Jetta cos I feel his job security is better than the others i was considering and Browndog for the obvious reasons. Leaves me with 130k as well.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Thought long and hard about this trade i think its a win/win

A. Walker OUT Barlow IN
Hall OUT J. Brown IN

Keeping Medhurst instead of Hall and keeping Ball instead of Walker. I think both will score better and more consistently.

What do you guys think????

Thanks in advance
