Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Just made my first two trades of the year someone please tell me i haven't gone mad?
Scored 2300 and 2100 first two weeks so wasn't going too badly...
Schoenmakers out - Silvagni in
Didak out - O'keefe in.
+ $110K in the bank
????

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Peterson's scores over the two games so far is around 78.He is playing well up forward and and is the hawks second ruck with Hodge lol.Against Melbourne he took a centre bounce as the ruckman and ended up kicking a goal while playing in the ruck:eek:. Not bad at 183 cm's

I think he will play at least four more games he is easily the best forward rookie.His two holding the ball decisions on Ablett will get him alot of love down at the Hawks

He is now. He won't be after this weekend when Rocky goes nuts. Obviously a different standard...but 40 touches and 5 goals in the magoos is a good platform to come in on.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

You are as mad as any other supercoacher on this forum... we're all a bit mad.

The same ol conundrum seems to consistently appear; is it worth trading out uninjured players to include players in-form and with an imminent price rise?

What value to place on trades?

My conundrum is whether to dump Hall and Tippet for Brown and Ballantyne. I am about 350th overall and Shaw is out of my team so I want to keep pressure on the top scorers...

Seems ok. Balla is going well. Brown is a freak. The dogs have lots of goalkickers so don't see major upside in Hall personally. He had a ripper preseason, but NAB Cup is different to the real stuff. I'd be surprised if he kicked 6 or 7 against the Hawks this time. Tippett is really struggling.

I traded Clark--->Seaby and Hall--->Brown

Not happy with Clark. Although others are not convinced with Seaby, I see him averaging close to 80 as the #1 ruck in a high stoppage team. And Hall to Brown seems a no-brainer with the rare form he is in, and the fact he might not be this cheap again. I'm happy to make 2 trades. If you are going to use 2, this is the time to do it

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

2 good trades GF08. Can't argue there. Thoughts on Tippett > Bob Murphy? Or should I play safe and go Rodney Dangerfield?? Both will now average more then Tippett I'm guessing.. Spewing I got caught in the hype of Tippett.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

OTTENS anyone?
Could be a decent alternative to Kreuzer / Seaby but he did only play 3 games last year and 13 in 08. Should avg. ~90 for the year but I wouldn't risk him unless you have at least Warnock as ruck cover.

Who to go? Hall the spud or Gray the injured, unknown return date.
Code:
option A). Hall -> J.Brown
option B). Gray -> J.Brown

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

OTTENS anyone?

Fair question. Couple of issues though...

1. I try to avoid too many Geelong players in my team. Unless they're players you simply have to pick (Enright, Ablett and Hunt for me this year), I think you're better off picking a similar player from another club. This makes the other games over the weekend more interesting, prevents the possibility (probability) that you may be overrating your own boys and also prevents the double whammy if one of your boys does his knee or has a shocker.

2. Bad week for Ottens before the values change. Unless he kicks a few goals, I'll be shocked if he can manage 100 against Sandilands. Seaby and Jamar, on the other hand, are up against some ordinary ruck opponents.

It's probably safer to go with Danger. Every man and his dog seems to have him or want him. Murphy more unique. I have both and I think the upside in Murph is much greater. Before his season was wrecked by injury last year, he started the year at nearly 500K. He is a proven gun, downside is his body but it seems to be ok to this point. I can see Murph and Danger both getting to 450-500K. They seem the best of the 300-360K mid-price players.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Yer have warnock as cover, want to trade so have funds to trade wells to rischitelli

How about Ballantyne? I have both him and Danger, but Ballantyne at with 270k price tag is a steal avg about 90, just 5 points less then Danger.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Ballantyne is a player that will probably break-out. I just see Danger and Murph as safer bets to be able to be 1 trade up's to underperforming premiums, maybe even 1 of them will become a keeper. Balla's looked good thus far though. More will be known when Fremantle start losing. In the case of the other 2, their sides have lost so far. Murph scored 130 in a loss and 80 in a win (rough scores), Danger 2x 95's in 2 losses (again rough scores).

Edit: At this stage I wish I had taken the punt on Balla over Medhurst. Spent a bit of time researching him on the Freo board, just went with Medders as I thought he would play in a side that wins more, had ok preseason and he had averaged 80-90 before in 2008. He may pick up but Balla ahead at this stage

that's a hard one, i'm in the same position. I leaning towards b). Gray -> J.Brown as i figure Hall will come good and i can upgrade him to an under-performing premium later on.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Really want to get JB in, this may be the cheapest he'll be all year. Problem is, I have no money so I have to be creative.
Do not want to mess with my mids yet (rookies set to rise), and happy with Sandi and Nic Nat in the ruck for the moment.

So the changes come from forwards and backs.

Current forward line - Roo, RoK, Didak, Goodes, Hall, Dangerfield, Gumby, Rockliff and Duncan.

Current backline - Goddard, Hodge, Drummond, H.Shaw, Gram, Waite, Waters, Ladson, Maguire.

Roo, RoK, Goddard, Hodge, Drummond, Shaw (when fit) the guns. Didak and Goodes have been slow to start, but should (I hope) start getting bigger scores. Dangerfield and Gram have potential to become premiums, with Rocky, Duncan, Gumby, Waters, Ladson and Maguire as cash cows/cover.
So that leaves Hall and Waite to trade. Hall has potential to score high, but will probably be inconsistent throughout the year, and trading Waite frees up the cash to get Brown.

Gotta hate trading 400k+ players this early though.

So I'm thinking of :

OUT: Waite, Hall and 2 trades
IN: Silvagni, JB and 140k+

The 140k+ will be handy for upgrades.

What do you guys think?

Kreuzer is only 50k more, and is the safest bet. Would not surprise me though, to see Ottens play all season and score highly. It's a typical SC risk/reward type scenario.

Got a feeling you should hold on to Gray, if you can cover him. Hall should be the one to go.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Pulled the trigger on Tippett - Seaby. Think Seaby could average a similar score to Tippett, so was worth saving the $150K. Plus I want to be in a position to swap straight to Cox, which you won't be able to do if Tippett's slump continues.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

What do you think?

1) Kurt Tippett $425,900 for Hayden Ballantyne $268,900

and

2) Barry Hall $366,000 for Jonathan Brown $525,400

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Clark out - Seaby in
Tippett out - Riewoldt in

Bit iffy on Clark.. thoughts?

I'm in almost the same boat, have Clark & Hille spudding it up in my rucks, after having sandi & seaby in there the day b4 lockout.... :)thumbsd: FAIL on coaches part) & am now VERY iffy on Clark, I'm falling behind the pack

Thinking of doing a double trade, getting rid of Clark & hall (two of my 3 50ppg on field players) for either of Seaby or kruezer in the ruck, & Baz for Brown in the fwds.

  • seaby leaves me with 164600 in the kitty & 248ppg between him & brown,
  • kruze leaves me with just 31600 but a boost of 255ppg on current averages
The main thing thats making me lean towards seaby atm is that big bank would be rather useful come about round 5 round 6 to turn a mid rookie or midpricer into C Judd.....
Thoughts?

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Hall -> Brown
Goodwin -> Malceski

Had to be done. Hopefully means I don't cop price drop from Goodwin and Hall, and get to ride Brown and Malceski up. Having said that, just watch Hall chop up the Hawks again...

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:2 sideways trades.. hille to seaby is ok but Gray should play this week and not sure how long byrnes will last..[/quote

Gray isnt playing and also port are playing geelong, st kilda and adelaide in the weeks after so gray isnt gonna score well

Seaby playing richmond should play well

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Brent Harvey?

What do i do big footy?

do i do this:

Tippet --> Kruzer

Harvey --> Brown

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Mick, I've got those same two a$$clowns (Harvey and Tippett), but I'm staying the course. There's no way Harvey is ever that bad again, and Tippett is not a 40 point SC player.

There will be a dip in both their prices this week, it's true, but I feel it may just be temporary before they string some good games together.

I'm pocketing the trades. Bummed that everyone sold me on Pav instead of JBrown though :eek:.
