Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Is there any possible reason anyone can see in keeping Harvey? Assuming he doesn't get suspended he then needs 182 in round 3 to avoid sinking like a stone in water.
Harvey ->>> Buddy, cash in pocket sound reasonable?

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I am not sold on Dangerfield, wouls see how he performs this week, but Ziebell crashed and burned from a good round 1 so gotta be careful with trades.

I would go for it. Harvey might be a better trade in option later, or just forget about him this season if you trade him out, otherwise might be a wasted trade out trade in later issue.

Got Ziebell in the forward line. Annoyed me a heap tonight, but the team was trashed.

Similar problem to mine.

OUT: Ball, Gray

IN: Dangerfield (helps with MPP in the midfield), Brown.

To be honest, I don't mind the idea of your trade. Rookie might get dropped during the season, but by then you would be able to find a trade for the rookie.

Any other opinions?

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Ball must be getting angry with the time on ground he is expieriencing, was the main reason why he left the saints...

Maybe see how Connors plays this round, might be a decent downgrade target for Ball.

Jordie McKenzie is doing alright for Melbourne as well but dont know much about him.

Davenport is also doing well.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Yep, Got Bastinac, Trengove, Scully (failed miserably today), Barlow, Martin. Considering going the extra rookie in the midfield because Ball is not performing. Will be in a better position to upgrade midfield later on when cash flows in.

My advice will be biased as my midfield is:

Trengove, Martin, Barlow (gun!), Bastinac (gun!), Banfield, Shuey [Banner, Jetta]

I tihnk if you downgrade to a rookie who will make you money to avoid drop in price in your premium then it could be okay....

Wait to see how Jetta and Howlett go... but Shuey perhaps?

We are in the same shoes...the question is are you going to keep him or do you have faith he'll bounce back and play the full 22 games?

If so, then keep him. The worst thing to do is to keep him and then get rid of him in round 5...

It's going to be a tough decision for me too...yikes

I am leaning toward shuey, he seemed to show enough in a losing side tonight. Also looking at Banner but feel his position might be at risk the next few rounds.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

What midfielder should I consider in my trade?

I can afford any midfielder cheaper than Petterd, and I have Martin, Barlow, Shuey and JKT.

Petterd/Dangerfield would help with MPP, also looking at Jordie McKenzie and Daniel Connors. Ziebell is in the forward line.

Thoughts?

Well thomas, little hard to answer not knowing your full squad, but I guess the questions to ponder are how important is Dangerfield's MPP to you, and do you think he's good enough to still be your 6th mid until the end of season?

If the MPP's not that important and you think you'd probably use another trade eventually to upgrade Dangerfield, then you're basically proposing to use Dangerfield to make cash, in which case I think you'd quite likely make more cash faster with a base price rookie like Bastinac (or whoever you don't have from that <$100K cluster) or maybe even better a bloke like Connors, and then that would also free up a fair bit of cash for you to do some early upgrading and take advantage of some of the premiums falling in price.

Depends a lot on how you rate Dangerfield, if you think he can be a worthy keeper for the next 20 rounds then go for it, certainly be interesting to see what he scores tomorrow against Sydney's midfield.

I think you're right to jump on Brown considering your situation with Gray, Brown doesn't look like he'll be this cheap again for the year the way he's moving, and I don't rate Ball's chances of improving (you've put yourself in a tough situation picking him because there's not much attractive at a similar price), so nothing wrong with the trades, just personally I wouldn't be jumping on Dangerfield because I don't feel strongly enough about him being injury free through another 20 rounds and I think he might struggle to become the 100+ consistent player I'd be ideally hoping for from my 6th mid.

I considered Travie Boak for a long time, but settled with Ball...

I have ROK, Pav and Ziebell in the forward line, so I just picked Dangerfield as an insurance policy from donuts/playing bad rookies. I guess Danger doesn't have as much upside as the rookies so I could go and consider a rookie.

Maybe I could go with Connors, which would free up heaps of cash and should average (if NAB form and Round 1 are anything to go by) around about the 80's this year if they give him 22 games.

Bastinac's always one to consider. Played alright SC wise despite his team being crushed for 4 quarters, and could be something of a Rich.

Jordie McKenzie's doing well for his price, and I'm having a little look at him.

I do think that Dangerfield has at least the potential to become a keeper. He played well against Freo in a team that got smashed. Sure, NAB form hasn't been good but someone like Goddard can have quiet NAB campaigns, and still smash it come real time. It will depend how he scores today against Freo, but I can see him getting up to at least the 90's or so. I should probably be aiming higher, but I wouldn't be displeased if he were to make it into the 90's. By that time, I could almost trade either him or Ziebell for a fallen premium.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

OUT: Ball, Gray
IN: Dangerfield (or a rookie, Danger helps with MPP though) and Brown

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I'm in need of $50,300 so I can upgrade R.Gray to J.Brown. Would it be crazy to downgrade one of my $170k rookies (trengove & martin) to Bastinac. It's not like the $170k rookies are likely to make me any more money, but they do have greater job security and I don't like to burn trades too early.

Only other option would be to downgrade one of Cooney, Armitage or M.McVeigh to Bastinac but that would definitely lose me points in the short-term.

I'm normally against kneejerk reactions, but if the Lions are going to be challenging for a top4 position he could go back to his 110+ avg.

i would downgrade cooney to boak who will jump very high in price and bring in brown. this is the last time you can buy brown this cheap this season, the trade will be well worth it.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

As much as it pains me to get rid of a premium, it's time for Mitch Clark to go. He just doen't look fit. I'm going to trade him for Mark Seaby and upgrade 1 of Ziebell or Medhurst to Jonathon Brown. Last year I couldn't get Nick Riewoldt in because I thought his price would drop and i'd pick him up cheaper later in the season (which didn't happen), I don't want the same thing to happen with Brown.
Weighing up this doesn't seem such a bad use of 2 trades. Clark is going to drop a shitload in price, Seaby is only going to rise (scored 82 in round 1, #1 ruck at the swans = more points). Brown may be out of reach after round 3, and I just have to make sure I pick the right one out of Ziebell and Medders, at the stage I'm thinking of keeping Ziebs with more mid time. Just think Medders might rely on goals too much for his scoring.
I suspect most people will be using 2 trades this week to finalise their teams before the price changes so I don't feel so bad doing these.

Yeah Thomas I think this could be a good trade, looking at your team (in Reveal your SC team) I would say Go for is still gives you 3 premium mids, an above avg (in Danger) and your fwdline will be huge, very similar to mine ;)

I got rid of gray as soon as I herd he has an Injury problem before round 1. I go with the aproch take no passengers, thats y al of my team (30 players) played in round 1 and all will play this round, I didnt belive in picking up Buddy, Burgoyne or Judd and holding them on the bench. I bet if you have your time again you wouldnt have picked him up ;) what would have been a beter option (seeing as you have Tipett) is Tippett fwd in place of gray and Kruzer in the ruck. :thumbsu:

At the end of the day see what he does against Sydney today, he should be fine im a big fan of him.

I am thinking of trading out Ball for Some one or Bock for Harry O (depending on how he playes 2day) and then trading Hille for Kruzer who is virtually as good as most midfielder with the pill. But im not sure. I was very against trading early but then after think ing about it this is the best possible time to trade and make some quick money on guys like Kruzer, Harry O, Roo, Brown and ect.

Yeah good choice, but its not that he isn't fit, he just doesn't have self belife and his role has changed with the inclusion of Luenburger. Clark needs to be in a 1 ruck team and Brisbane have 3 good rucks. Seaby I dont fell is a great choice though. Brown as an inclusion is great but seaby has a good ruckman in Mumford to compete with.

Medhurst could be a game breaker for you. Ziebell should be pretty concistant 80-90+. Im a bit cut every 1 is jumping in Brown coz I had him round 1 and every 1 still has the chance to get him haha. :p

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Any love for Fevola after a potential big price drop next round? Swore never to pick him again but might be tempting.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Okay I currently have Gray in my side who I want to trade out due to injury. I also have Hille & Clarke as my rucks and Ball who have all been performing below par. I'm probably going to do two trades before round 3 before price changes and one of them will obviously be Gray. The trade that I was thinking of before the start of Round 2 (obviously dependant on performances in round 2) are:

Out: Gray, Giansiracusa
In: Brown, Murphy
I'm not worried about Gia's performance last week, but I don't want 3 Bulldogs in my forward line (I also have Hall) and I would like Brown if possible. This would give me a forward line of:

Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Brown, Murphy, Hall, Medhurst, Dangerfield (Hitchcock, Rockliff)

I'm fairly certain that Clark and Ball will come good and that it's to early to pull the trigger on trading any of the underperforming players but I'm just wondering if I should be worrying about trading one of my rucks given that they are both down on form (Hille had 10 to half time)? If I should I was thinking:

Out: Clark, Gray
In: Kruezer, Brown

Would love some advice on this.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Time for Goodes to go - two sub 100 scores at a price of 607k.

Will bring in Brown and have 80k in the bank to use on my first upgrade in a week or two.

No injuries as of yet.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I Need help BAD
I've got Clark and Hille in the ruck, who have showed no potential whatsoever

The i've got Harvey, who got reported and got a 11! in sc...then you've got Tipett, who i just dont see firing?

What should i do?

Take out Clark? get Seaby? and upgrade tippett/harvey to a o'keefe?
Take out Hille? Get Seaby? which will give me 120k in the bank ( as i have around 100k atm) and upgrade harvey to R.O.K?

Suggestions PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to hang onto Goodes. He will come good.
My concern is my Rucks in Clark and Tippett (mpp in fwd line).
I am tempted to downgrade Tippett in fwd line to Murphy or Dangerfield and then upgrade clark in ruck to Sandilands.
However not sure if this is a good idea as it is burning two trades early.
Any thoughts?

My fwd line currently is Riewoldt, Didak, Goodes, Tippett, Medhurst, Ballantyne, Hitchcock
