Guys....Round 1 is complete and your squads are locked, but trading is the most important part of the game SO...Welcome to the "Official 2010 SuperCoach Trading" thread. This is here to discuss all things trading. What trades are you thinking of making??? What trades have you made??? Get advice from fellow BF posters before you make those 20 crucial decisions.
So with that i'll get the ball rolling. Obviously it is important to pick the right rookies and I have probably made a mistake by choosing Scott Gumbleton. I thought Gumby would become a good cow because hey, he played some NAB challenge games, scored reasonably well, and his body seems to be the best it has been since he was taken at pick 2. Boy, did I get it wrong!
He scored 18, and although Gumby is probably a lock in Essendon's side, he probably won't be in mine. I should get some cover in the coming weeks from Tom Rockliff who is next in line at Brisbane. But I selected Gumby to make me some $$$ and i'm really disappointed and can see scores like this being a frequent occurence.
At this stage I am thinking of using 3 trades in the first 2 weeks, just to shore up my rooks, because they are there to make the $$$. I know trade talk this early is dangerous, but after my side threw out a 2394 in Round 1, there really isn't too much wrong with it at the moment. If I don't move on Gumby by Round 2 lockout, I'm stuck with him unfortunately
, because I plan on using 2 trades next week, but can afford another week of watching to see what's best with those.
At this stage I think Gumby for either Hitchcock, who threw out a reasonable 75 in wet conditions at AAMI, but tired as the game wore on, or Carl Peterson, who was very lively at the MCG on Saturday and scored 71. Hitchcock just seems a safer bet as, although Peterson did nothing wrong, there are a fair few Hawks missing at the moment and when they return his job security may be under threat.
So what's the general concencus guys??? Please tell me Gumby just had an off night
