Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I need to wait and see if Hurn does get done for as many games as I think he will before making final decisions, but if he goes for 4-6, I think I'll drop him for O'Brien/Hunt/Ladson/Kennelly or one of the other underpriced backmen, then use the extra cash to upgrade one of my cheap, underperforming forward line (Hall/Walker/Warren most likely ATM) to big Jono Brown.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I need some serious help!!!

Here is my team.

BACKS
Hodge - Malceski - Kennelly - Goddard -
Enright - Hooker - Goodwin
Maguire - Waters

MIDFIELDERS
J. Selwood - Stanton - Ball - Barlow - Martin - Banner
Jetta - Bastinac

RUCKS
Naitanui - Tippet
Hille - Warnock

FORWARDS
N. Riewoldt - O'Keefe - Harvey - Hall
Medhurst - Ballantyne - Hitchcock
Gumbleton - Peterson

$384,000 left over cash

I havent made any trades yet
Round 1 score - 2284

The problem i have is i want to upgrade players but i cant till they start going up. Players like Ball, Harvey and tippet are going to drop in value. Tippet is a good player and on his day he can get great scores and ball had a decent preseason but just cant find the ball. Harvey should come good and played a hard side in StKilda.
Obviously im looking to trade in superstars for my rookies and i dont wont to waste trades swapping premuims for premiums.

Here is a few options i thought of....

Ball for ladson. Then swap ladson and hodge around giving me a top player in the midfield and allowing me to choose between Ladsn, Maguire, Waters for that final backmen possie.

Ball for Ablett. But this takes a chunk out of my spare change that allows me to upgrade rookies.

Tippet for Seaby. Seaby is playing well can he maintain it.

Tippet for Kruezer. averaging over a 100 a game.

Tippet for Lobbe or Tregrove. Cheap option and i save money for rookie upgrades.

Please tell me your thoughts on these and or any other flaws you see in my team. Also please rate my team. Thanks guys!!!

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Ball and Hall probably out.

Masten just snuck in over Ball because he is a fair bit cheaper.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Hall, Tipett, hille, Gray, waite iffy. im considereing trading them out before their prices decrease

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Tippett again letting me down. Could bring Danger in to open up some cash and to get better points. Only possible saving grace is Adelaide play Melbourne and Tippett should make the Melbourne backline nervous. Good to see some of the cash cow/upgradeable players letting us down badly. Barry Hall due a big game too.

I wouldn't worry about Waite. Unless he starts being used as a key forward this season then at $407k you'd think his price will rise. I don't have him but might upgrade a rookie to him in a couple of weeks.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

SILVAGNI??????? i need advice..i had him in but after backline emergencies burning me the last couple of years I took a different tact and swapped him for waters(not unhappy about it)..so here's my dilemma - should I bring Silvagni in before he goes up and can make me a lot of money...

Goddard, Shaw, Hodge, Goodwin, Malceski, Waters, Macguire, Raines - been servicable so far BUT the Silvagni dilemma is do I burn someone and two trades for his value. Shaw will average 100+ and Goodwin 90+ but one must go for Silvagni for a forward or premium mid upgrade. Decisions...hmmmm

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Thinking of this;

Out: Hille and Joel Macdonald
In: Malceski & Kreuzer.
THoughts.

I think this has some value in it. Kruezer and Malceski have definitely had great starts to the year. Hille's started off slowly but may come good, I haven't seen much of Joel Macdonald so I don't know what his performances have been like.

I'm thinking of doing one of the following:
Out: Clark, Gray
In:Kruezer, Brown

or

Out: Hall, Gray
In: Ballantyne, Brown

Kruezer has been better than Ballantyne so far this year, and I've had better cover for poor performances of Hall in the forward line with the likes of ROK and Riewoldt there than for Clark in the Rucks where my second ruck is Hille (spewing that I didn't stick with NicNat). But Clark is more likely to become consisitantly good. Hall, by nature of his position, is likely to be inconsistant and throw these low scores in regularly.

Would love some help about which way I should go.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

My trade thought
Out: tippet, Gia
In: Brown, dangerfield

Yeah, as much as I'm not a fan of trading this early trading out Hall and Tippett for Dangerfield and Brown looks very promising. Their scores are getting to the point where they are unignorable, plus it gets me an extra keeper (and hopefully two).

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Out: Ryder, Harvey
In: Kreuzer, Brown

TBH, I don't mind the idea. 2 underperformers for 2 overperformers atm.

OUT: Ball, Gray
IN: Dangerfield (in mids), Brown

Just want one more opinion on this one. What do people think. Danger helps with MPP, and Brown is Brown. Ball's TOG is worrying me. 74% isn't enough.

Also considering:

OUT: Tippett, Gray
IN: Seaby/Naitanui, Brown

Feel like I'm jumping the gun on this one though.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

Whouldi trade Ball and hille? if sto who?? i only have $600...

Ball I'd probably give more time too. He's adapting to a knew club so may take some time. Also I'm not sure who you could trade him too. Hille probably also give time too given he is coming off a knee reco and, I'm presuming, your second ruckman? If you were to trade him, I'd look at NicNat. His price should go up once price changes kick in.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

The problem with Brown is he has already bagged the points and I don't like to bring in the big key forward after he has had a big game. He still has his tiny games coming at somepoint.

That being said I'm looking for a way to bring in Sandi so I'm a bit of a hypocrite

I'm definitely considering your second option as well....It's pretty hard to ignore Seaby atm and I can't really see things changing too much - especially with Sydney's game style.
Gray's back/hamstring injury could be ongoing, so trading for Brown seems like the best option. Pretty sure i'm going to do this come Friday arvo.. Goodluck!

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

OUT: Tippett
IN: Brown, $10,000

Two awful performances from Tippett with no 100+ performances in sight. On the vergue of a big price drop, thinking seriously of just cutting my losses and moving to the best thing available. Two big games by Brown, should be able to do it consistently all year given he is now sharing the oppositions attention with Fev.

OUT: Hille
IN: Seaby, $80,000

Two big Seaby hauls, two terrible Hille performances. Hille looks finished and Seaby's about to bounce in price. I think alot of people will be thinking of bringing in Seaby in for Round 3.

I want to buy this, but it doesn't ring true with me.

His TOG isn't good for 1. 74% is not good enough, and it's not what I thought he'd be getting. His efficiency has been poor.

The adapting to a new club thing doesn't work with me. He was brilliant in the NAB Cup, but can't adapt come the real stuff? Something just seems fishy to me.

Nevertheless, I am still thinking of keeping him, but something just seems wrong.

Re: Official SC 2010 Trading Thread

I'm pretty tempted to upgrade Clarke to Sandilands, and swap out Tippett for one J. Brown this week  Damn early trades.
