Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

What are peoples thoughts on this, I'm about 2k short at this stage so will be waiting for Nic Nats price to go up enough for me to complete the trades..

Downgrade Clark to Seaby this week, and the following week when Nic Nats price rises upgrade him to Sandi.. Meaning I burn 2 trades over 2 weeks ending up with Sandi and Seaby as my ruckman?

Do people believe this is worthwhile or should I just save the trades & hope that Clark comes good? To be honest I don't want to get rid of Nic Nat at this stage but Clark is just killing me...

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Trading before teams come out.... sometimes I think you WANT to fail.

Anyway, I'm going to trade out ROK cos I think he's peaked, to maybe Gray who has had a slow start but should score well.

Then I'm gonna use that money to upgrade Barlow to a real gun like Andrew Walker.

You should all do the same.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

There is a lack of number crunching prior to the rnd 3 price movements, so here a thought for those numerically minded.

I've run some calculations on my mooted trades via plugging the breakevens table into excel & running an autofilter over it (this only takes about 30 seconds):

Clark > Sandilands

Clark $498,100
Sandilands $538,600
Cost $40,500

On b/e Clark will lose $62,100, Sandi will gain $7,600
Est saving $69,700 on a $40,500 cost gives an expected rnd 3 benefit of $29,200

Tippett > Brown

Brown $525,400
Tippett $425,900
Cost $99,500

On b/e Tippett will lose $60,100, Brown will gain $58,700
Est saving $118,800 on a $99,500 cost gives an expected rnd 3 benefit of $19,300

Other possibilities that did give a higher gain were Clark for Seaby & Tippett for Ebert, however I'd be faced with the prospect of upgrading both later, rather trade to keepers.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

Any thought??
My problem with Seaby is that he's not a premium and I highly, highly doubt he'll become one. Therefore he'll probably require one more trade. So for that reason i'm tempted to Clark --> Kruezer. But going back to my earlier post, I need to weigh up the effect on my forward line of taking Seaby over Kruezer.

Yeah i'm in the same boat Bomber.. I would much rather have Kruezer (particuarly because Clark is currently my no. 1 ruckman ), however by getting Seaby, I am then able to upgrade Hall to Browny leaving me with 5 premiums up forward...

Would love even more to get Sandi for Clark but I don't have any cash left over!

What do people think?

Use the one trade and take Kruez and pocket the 75,000 for future upgrades... Or take Seaby and then get J Brown for Bazza?

It depends on the rest of your team. I'd try to free up some cash in other areas of your team to go Clark>Sandi. But if you really can't free up anything, you probably do have to make those trades.

How much cash do you have? And who are your other forwards?

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu: - app Tipett has tendonitis.

Tendonitis in the knee is a strange one. I've had it since I was 17 from playing basketball and it has gradually got worse over the years. It was the sort of thing that you can play through once you warm up, the pain goes away and the next day you really feel it. So his recovery would be affected, but at his age his performance on field would probably not be. It didn't stop me playing basketball at the highest level I could until I was about 25, and I didn't have the same support staff he will have.

I didn't think it was such a bad thing. I would think that it wouldn't affect his output a heap. If it was so bad it was giving him pain onfield, he wouldn't be out there (he is gold to Adelaide, I doubt they'd risk him). I might as well give him a couple more weeks to get going, he'll get there.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

yeah that would probably be some helpful info when i'm asking for advice

reiwoldt, higgins, medhurst, hitchcock, hall, franklin, i've got 453k with tippett gone.

i'm kind of thinking Dangerfield for 332K and keeping the extra 120k in the bank to upgrade in a few rounds.... if bazza pops a few good rounds and ROK hsa a few down ones that money could be very useful

for the money i've got shagga burns looks OK, especially because it seems his spot is now cemented.

maybe even robert murphy from the doggies. I'm really not sure though. i obviously want to make the trade based on what the person will score over the next 20 rounds not what they've scored in the last 2.

????

any help would be great and thanks in advance

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

For Tippett owners it might be better if he misses. I would rather play a bench player and risk a low score rather than playing an injured tippett and losing money.

If he misses a few weeks his price wont change and I could trade him to an under performing gun later... because (atm) I'm just short of a tippett > ROK swap.

Either way it sucks if he loses value/wastes a trade :(

I guess I'll wait and see

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

My trades this week
Boomer>Brown

Morabito>Barlow

Cash in the bank is no issue, so could trade Boomer for any forward, leading towards JB, also considering Ryan O'keefe. Thoughts? Barlow looks liike a must have, so no doubt in the Morabito trade.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

I am a Hille owner and I do not really understand what people were expecting of him when they put him in their side. he is coming back from a knee so you would expect a bit of a slow start. I did not see the Freo game but I thought he was actually pretty good against Geelong. He moved well and looked fit and got acroos the ground well. Now as I said I did not see the Freo game but do you think Hille will be the only person to score poorly against Sandi in the ruck thir year? I think Seaby is a real plodder so I would be suprised if Hille does not end up with a very similar average. On another thing Clarke should not have played with the flu in the first week and that would have stuffed him up for the next game 5 days later he would have been as flat as a tack as exericsing with a virus stuffs you totally. i would expect him to fire up over the next few weeks.

Re: SC Trading Thread - 2010

The Tippett situation is tough, i'm considering trading him down to Seaby, then upgrading Ball to Bartel.

If I do this this week it will work, if I was to wait onother week the price changes would screw me, or should I just sit on them both????

Opinions appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply,
I'm personally keeping Tippett, but the value he may drop scares me. I'd probably go Dangerfield. Use the cash to get Judd in the coming weeks.

Really hope your right, not convinced though.
