Re: Round 4 trades

hi guys,

im trying to work out whether to trade riewoldt for Brown or ROK? any ideas which one of the two might be better in the long term? im leaning towards ROK...

Cheers

Re: Round 4 trades

Out: Hooker and Riewoldt, In: Higgins and Malceski +100k
Next week:
Out: Medhurst, In: Harvey
Week After:
Out: Bock, In: Newman/Hargrave. and/or Out: Stanton, In: Mitchell/Delideo.

This would give me 15or14/20 Trades remaining.

Thoughts?

Re: Round 4 trades

Contemplating the following:

Out: Gia, Heath Shaw
In: Rioli, Goddard
or
Out: Gia
In: Higgins

Thoughts?
I would go The 1st option, but is Gia worth trading out?? will he come good?? Goddard, defs a great inclusion. Defs not the 2nd option, to much of a sidways trade.

Hmmm the first few trades look good Liverpool but the Bock and Stanton trades not so much.

Higgins very consistent. I like this trade. Considering doing it myself.
Malceski has looked unstoppable and should be a keeper bar injuries and Hooker hasn't done much since pre-season.

Medhurst is an inconsistent dud. I partly say this because I hate the bloke, but also because he is clearly not capable of consistently scoring 90+.
Boomer is a premium. Enough said.

Bock-Newman/Hargrave is a very very sideways trade.. Swapping a proven premium for another premium. Seems a bit silly to me. Despite Bock not starting well this year, you bought him for a reason... He will get back to his best and thus you should NOT trade him. When bringing in Newman or Hargrave, something I think we will all be looking at doing, it would be ideal to trade out someone like Josh Hunt or Tadgh Kennelly or maybe Beau Waters (though he's looked like a good 7th defender so far) as these type of players were always going to be traded out.

Same with Stanton-Mitchell/Deledio. Sideways trades.. Big waste. You picked Stanton because he has shown enough to look like he will average 100+ this year. So stick with him! When trading in Mitchell or Deledio, do so for someone like Dustin Martin or Jack Trengove.

Hope this helps mate. Just my thoughts

EDIT: I just remembered Bock is injured.. So if it is looking like he'll miss a few games that trade is not too bad at all. However if he's only likely to miss 1-3 I would suggest keeping him

Re: Round 4 trades

Trying to decide between:

Roo + Tippett for Chapman + Brennan (+ $27k left); or
Roo + Tippett for Chapman + Rioli ($84k left); or
Roo + Tippett for Chapman + Higgins ($18k left).

I suppose Rioli is the best choice from here given that I might need the $84k to upgrade Shuey/Trengove to Judd (or similar) in round 7ish but I like Higgins' consistency. Rioli has the X factor though and may score big.

Alternatively I could just go Tippett -> Rockliff, save the cash for later. That will cost another trade in the forward line, though. If I don't do this, and go for one of the above options, it will sure up my forward line for a while.

Thoughts?

Re: Round 4 trades

However would I be stupid to trade say Tippett for Pods and then Roo for Brown or Chappy and pocket the cash. The cash could be used next week on an mid priced player such as Medhurst or Ballantyne to another premium. Then maybe try and generate some cash through the rookies or other areas for up grades later. Or would that be a bit of a gamble with that many rookies in fwd line. Hitchcock, Gumby, Rockcliff, & PODS.
Not too mention burning 3 trades instead of 2 even though I would be getting and extra premium eventually

Any thoughts?

i did this last week except i went tippett -> peterson. time will tell whether it was a good idea, however making cash always seems like a good idea. i guess the problem with pods is whether he will keep his position once mooney comes back. the $350k cash sitting there doing nothing will be useful when i decide to fire medhurst (probably this week)

Wouldn't be trading out Shaw. Could be back this week, has averaged 116.50 in the first to rounds. With Maguire, Silvangi, Waters etc as cover i wouldn't be wasting a trade.
Gia will come good IMO, think he can average 90-95 still and be a handy 6th forward.

Yeah Bock is very Injury prone though, bearly plays a full season, Newman is ultra durable, besides that broken leg which you cant really blame him for and Hargrave will have a very tempting price in 2 games from 515k Round 1 to down to 360k after Round 5. Stanton Plays really badly away from home. Also lids has an average of 123.3 at the MCG over his career (according to 'tooserious') and with 10 more games there this year and with his pretty concistant scores last year and his lower price he is very tempting, also we kno Mitchell is all class and when Sewell and/or Borgoyne are back he should link up very well with them, unlike that spud Bateman.

Yeah Beau Waters looks like a solid B7, more likly than not a keeper.

Im guessing you alreagy hav RO'k and Brown, what about Higgins and Boomer? 128k left over, or you could Pick up Pods and save alot of money, and even earn a bit of his price rise, if you dont already kno about him, he was a 28 year old mature aged rookie, was dravted 2 times previously but never cracked the seniors, has been the best player in the VFL over the last 5 years and has played with the big boys for years, looks like a great pick up for a quick fix, for the cats to push for 1 more Premiership.

Re: Round 4 trades

Used my first 2 trades this week.

Out: David Armitage, Bernie Vince

In: Kane Lucas, gary Ablett jnr

Yeah i see your point... Still seems a bit sideways for me though. I guess wait and see over the next couple of weeks how Stanton goes and whether Bock can recover. You weren't planning on doing those trades for a couple of weeks after all.

My trade dilemma for this week is the same as everyone elses.. That is: who I should bring in for Roo. But I already have Brown, ROK and Pavlich who are the three most obvious replacements IMO.. As a Geelong supporter i would love to bring Chappy in but unfortunately I don't have the left over cash. So it's down to:

Boomer, Higgins or Rioli.

Boomer: proven performer. But is getting on a bit which may result in some inconsistency. Plus he has Sydney this week..

Higgins: probably the most consistent of the three. You can pretty much pencil him in for around 100 every week which i like. But doesn't seem to bring in the bigger 100's.

Rioli:
an interesting one. Capable of the big 100's but can he step up this year and continue to get them? He is very capable, it is just a matter of consistency and staying injury free. I've said it a few times but he could become the Alan Didak of this year... It could be a masterstroke, or it could be a total flop! Tough one.

What does everyone think?

Re: Round 4 trades

Need to trade Roo out but not sure who to pick. Already have ROK, Rockliff, and Brown.

Was thinking either Boomer, Didak, Chapman, Higgins and Goodes.

Goodes will most likely drop 30k next week though and then 10k the following week. Is it worth Holding of on the trade until next week and playing Gumbleton and Rockliff or Goodes isn't worth it at all?

Re: Round 4 trades

For the guy above looking to trade out H. Shaw - don't do it, the guy is a must in any decent team I would have thought.

I would appreciate some feedback on the following, which I originally posted last night but got no replies for.

Riewoldt has to go:

Riewoldt > Brown (seems the obvious trade and definitely the popular choice around here.

However, I am drawn towards Riewold > Pavlich. Pav looked good on the weekend and the money it would free up would allow either of the following:

Hunt/Ladson > Malceski (Malceski looks great and I'm spewing I traded him out on the eve of round 1. Hunt and Ladson [not sure which one though]will both probably have to go for premiums eventually anyway so why not now?)

or

Clark > Sandilands (I loved Clark's game last year and am loathe to jump off him so early....but there is no denying that there are serious issues!)

Anyway guys, any feedback would be much appreciated and returned in kind if you have your own dilemas.

Hi cool cat I did the Clark> Sandilands trade last week.Am also thinking about doing Roo> pav this week, already have Brown,Okeefe,Chappy.Clark is struggling with role at the moment.Leuenberger I think is the number 1 ruck.Good luck with your decision

Re: Round 4 trades

Roo > RoK.

If I trade in Malcheski (last chance this week) then I wont have to touch the backline for the rest of the season so weighing up the second trade.

Re: Round 4 trades

on injuryupdate.com.au it says danger back round 4 in doubt what ever that means l'm glad its not serious he looks like having a break out season what to people think about porplyzia is he worth keeping? l am thinking of down trading waite and up grading porp's

Re: Round 4 trades

Undecided on which way to go?

Option 1 - Wait till next week then go Riewoldt > Podsiadly and J.Trengrove > GAZ.

or

Option 2 - Riewoldt > Rioli and M.Clark > Sandi.

My current Mids. - Bartel,J,Selwood,Mitchell,Barlow,Martin & Bastinac(Banner & Trengrove)

My current Rucks - Hille & M. Clark (J.Trengrove & J.Roughead)

My current Fwds. - Riewoldt,ROK,J.Brown,Franklin,Lockyer,Gian. & Peterson(Rockliff & Hitchcock)

Yeah Pav looked very good on the weekend. If you already have Brown and ROK he is definitely the next logical choice.

Yeah I have Pods. He played well, I'm still concerned about whether he's going to string 3 games together at this point so I don't regard him as a legitimate replacement. I've considered Boomer as well but I think Chappy will be a good replacement for Roo, notwithstanding his injury problems. Risk and reward type thing. It's more whether I want to go two premiums or go Chapman + Rockliff to save money to say, upgrade Shuey to Judd.

I was at the Melbourne-Adelaide game on the weekend and Tippett was pathetic. Looked like he was showing no effort, didn't go in hard to any contest and generally looked lost. I doubt he'll get better any time soon - I wish I'd traded him out last week.

Re: Round 4 trades

After trading out Hille and Tippett last week reluctent to do another 2 trades this week.

Looking at Roo to Rioli.

Not sure on below

Kelly to Goddard/Gilbert or

Save Cash and wait for Masten to Judd

Re: Round 4 trades

Help!

Roo, Pav, Franklin, Hall, Murphy, Danger, Rockliff.

That is my forward line, looking at Roo > Brown will have about 64k in the bank after that, not sure what to do next? So it might be a case of Danger > 406k or below?

It's the only problem in my entire team. Any ideas?

i would trade roo to ROK and look at using left over cash to upgrade danger.....

Im thinking about Roo to ROK, and Tippett to PODS..... then next week I can upgrade Danger to goodes (i have hitchCOCK and gumby on bench)

Or should I go Roo to ROK and Tippett to Petterson leaving me with $185k to upgrade someone else
