Re: Round 4 trades

I have a forward line of -
Chappy, Reiwoldt, Goodes, O'Keefe, Brown, Danger, Higgins, Hall, Hitchcock

Afforded by a really really cheap and nasty Midfield.
I want to trade roo for a good medium/Premium. I have Hall as a bench emergency. Any thoughts please.
Brennan and Davis are tantalising ATM. Maybe Rioli.

Help please
Regards
DTF

Re: Round 4 trades

Can't go past Pavlich, Double. That 57 score is bringing his average and price down. He showed last week how good he is.

why would you have hall on your bench??? have you played this game before?
swap hall for pieterson first so u dont miss your seat on the money train...then swap roo for pav or rioli and use the money next week to upgrade your mids. as you said, strong forward line, but the rest of your team must be desperately lacking...

i may as well add a question.
1. does anyone else have bock?
2. is anyone trading him to gilbee so as to not miss the boat?
3. or does anyone believe bock will come good when he gets back? or will he be hampered by the hamstring for 2-3 weeks after he's back?

How is Pavs knee. Shiesse preseason because of his knee, I dont trust it:(
But thanks for reply.

Yeah, my midfield is very lacking. But again thanks for your reply man.
hall is on bench as bench cover because I took a different angle this year and wanted better bench cover.
i have played this game before, 998 was my rank last year:thumbsu:
My midfield is all youngsters bar ablett and Masten. Designed to grow money for me.:thumbsu:

Don't worry about other people mate, there is a bit of a sheep mentality around here at times.

Personally if I was you I would just start Hall and have hitchcock as an emergency with Roo on the bench. You could then afford to wait and trade Roo out when 1/. you get another forward injury or 2/. pick up a player when they have bottomed out (Davis, Didak, Goodes, etc.) or prior to a price rise (Rockliff next week).

Hopefully option 2 happens so you can mittigate your LTI by making some $.

:thumbsu: Ill be surprised if Hitchcock is named to play, also He is playing the Cats at Skilless stadium Geelong. Id be surprised if he sees the ball.
I think I want to trade Roo pronto.....
What do you think of Davis, marginally cheaper, its out of him and Brennan......
Cheers

Keep in mind Brennan has played in 3 wins and with a fowardline concisting of Brown, Fez, Staker, Sherman, Buchanon and Himself he me 'go missing' on occasions. Davis, Didak, Rioli, Harvey, Murphy and Higgins are the obvious 'cheaper' choices whilst Brown, RO'k and Chappy are the obvious expensives.

Re: Round 4 trades

I have the Roo / Tippett dilemma

1. No trades performed yet
2. 152,000 in the bank

OPtion 1

Roo -> Brown
Tippett - > Pavlich

Option 2

Roo -> Brown
Tippett -> Harvey

Considering fremantle play st kilda and North play sydney, which is the better choice out of Harvey and Pavlich both short and long term?

I currently have ROK, Waite, Schneider, Hall, Tippett, Roo,Rockliff, Roberts, Hitchcock in the forward line.

Thanks!

Re: Round 4 trades

Why would you downgrade a premium? That is going to cost you at least 20-30 points a weeks or about 500-600 points a year.

I think his (or her) point is that Riewoldt is a genuine premium and while Rioli looks a chance to be, he's got to prove it over a long period. By trading to Brown or O'Keefe, you're probably not going to lose anything apart from a trade.

The reason I'm doing a "downgrade" is to catch Rioli before he busts into $500k +. ROK & Brown are going to be upgrade targets later in the year and their price will remain in that $550+ range. By going now, I might lose a few points (Same as everyone else) but save enough money for that upgrade later (And use one less trade in the mean time)

Re: Round 4 trades

Only 4 people in the "Round 4 Changes thread" on the Port board believe Hitchcock will be dropped. I'm fairly confident he'll get a game this week. He hasn't done much wrong.

Re: Round 4 trades

Michael Hurley anyone? im thinking of bringing him in for Riewoldt

Terrible option considering you can get Rioli for the same price. An average KPP like him is unlikely to score consistently and I can't imagine he will do much better than last year (80 avg.)

I'm definitley doing Roo->Rioli
with the left over cash I can upgrade Armitage to any player under $578,700, Either I go all out for a consistent performer like Boyd or try and pick up another mid rookie (already starting Barlow+1)

Re: Round 4 trades

Okay. I really have no idea what to do here. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, here is my current team. I have 20 trades and $25,200 in the bank.

As I see it, here are my options this week.

OPTION 1:
OUT: Riewoldt
IN: Brown

PROS:
Get Brown before his price rises any further
CONS:
Tippett will fall in value even more

OPTION 2:
OUT: Riewoldt, Tippett
IN: Brown, Rockliff

PROS:
Get Brown, Rockliff before their respective prices rise any further
Offload Tippett before he falls in value even more
Gives me a lot of cash for further upgrades
CONS:
Will be playing with a rookie as my 7th forward

OPTION 3:
OUT: Riewoldt, Tippett
IN: Pavlich, Rioli

PROS:
Keep stability in the forward line. Offload Tippett before his price falls in value even more
CONS:
Miss out on Brown

Alternatively I could stick with Tippett and hope that he finds some form. Quickly.

Can anybody else see any other viable options?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Round 4 trades

Sucks to miss out on Brown but Pav+Rioli seems the most sensible choice. Brown+Rockliff could be good, it just depends if Rocky can hold his place for the rest of the season.

Re: Round 4 trades

What to do with Relton Roberts? :D

Seriously, made 1 trade so far Roo out, Brown In.

I have Tippett and will probably just keep him. I'm banking (I should say hoping) on him being a late scratching so his value will stay where it is. There are quite a few solid FWD options with high BE's this week, hopefully everything falls my way.

If you don't have Peterson and have the free cash, trade him for Peterson. I just did. If you hadn't made a trade before this round, I think it's defensible.

If you have Peterson and don't have Rockliff, trade him for Rockliff.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Sure, many people would view these as a waste of a trade, but the whole idea of these bench rookies is they are supposed to make you money. There is no evidence to suggest Roberts will be able to do that and he isn't even playing this week. I honestly don't think you will be able to use this guy in an upgrade this year so might as well dump him now. Just my opinion.

Re: Round 4 trades

Okay so I'm going to trade Roo for Pav.

But I'm also thinking of trading Gia for either Higgins or Harvey or Brennan.

Should I trade Gia? And for who? (I did two tidy up trades last week. Should I do another this week?)

Re: Round 4 trades

I have the most gigantic urge to trade out Josh Hunt for Nick Malceski. Is this a reasonable trade???
I have 18 trades left this will make me have 17 left!

Re: Round 4 trades

Should I trade those in bold:

Macguire (Newman, Silvagni)
Jetta (Shuey, Banner)
Peterson (Riewoldt, Hitchcock)

Riewoldt definitely. He's going to miss most of the season.

Shuey, I'd want to find out more about his injury before pulling the trigger. Also, you'd have to factor in how many trades you would expect to have to make through up grades and injuries (all of which you are no doubt aware of).

Newman has a BE of 98 this week that he could quite easily achieve despite his average. The inexperienced Tigers will look to give it to their captain and they are playing Melbourne this week. I'd hold off for a week and then reassess.

In short I'd trade Riewoldt, pocket the cash, hold off on Newman and find out if Shuey's injury is for one week or multiple if you have a particular MID in mind for a trade.
