Need to trade out Riewoldt and Dangerfield (unless Danger's injury isn't as serious as first thought?)

Will probably go for Brown and Rioli at this stage. Leaves me enough cash to upgrade Roberts to Rockliff next week.

My dilemma is that due to ROK's price rise he's now out of my league for a Roo trade unless I downgrade someone else. Would I be better trading Roo for a Brennan, Harvey or Pavlich and then use the cash to bring in another premium down the track, or cash in Hitchcock or Medhurst for Rockliff and just get ROK?

Definitely leaning towards the former at this point but would really like ROK.

Had a terrible round this week dropping from 800 to 5,000 will make two trades this week with $300k in the bank already and the need to replace Riewoldt.

My two options that I am weighing up are:

Riewoldt (Fwd) & M.Robinson (Mid) to either:

Option 1: Cyril Rioli (Fwd) & Little Gaz (Mid) or;
Option 2: Alan Didak (Fwd) & Leigh Montagna (Mid)

What are everybody's thoughts?

Im thinking a straight swap of Waite to Malceski... One appears on the way up and looks keeper material ( and all the other contenders in my league seem to have him) whereas Waite appears like he will be very up and down with his comeback from a reco. Both similarly priced now, but wont be after this week.

Thoughts??

Just wondering what people think of these trades over the next 2 rounds.

My team as it is now is.

B :malceski, kenelly, h shaw, enright, hodge, gram, ladson, (waters, silvagni)

C: swan, barlow, mitchell, stanton, gibbs, martin (shuey, bastinac)

R: seaby, ryder, (warnock, lobbe)

F: riewolt, tippet, brown, franklin, o keefe, murphy, podsiadly(hitchcock, gumbleton)

Now to the trades i am thinking of making this week.
Riewolt>peterson/rocliff (leaves me with about 450 000)
Mitchell>ablett(leaves about 250 000-300 000)

Next week
kenelly out for a rookie (start waters on the field)
martin to judd

What do you think of these trades?

i think option 2 as didak will be more conssitent than cyril

Didak will probably be more consistent than Rioli, but.. You're getting Ablett. Go Option 1 without question, TheMentalist.

To be honest, it looks like a lot of trades for little result. Yes I know that it gives you GAJ and Judd, but your getting rid of Roo (no option) and Mitchell in the process. So your team is not gaining any extra premiums. You picked Mitchell as a premium player and I know he's had a terrible start to the season but I think you've just gotta stick with him. I think you've missed the boat on Peterson, so if you want to downgrade Roo bring in Rockliff. Also you might need to consider what you'll do with Tippett, not sure how severely he's injured but we should know later on in the week. If you want Ablett into your team, I think you can do it without upgrading another premium. By downgrading Roo --> Rockliff, you should have enough money to go Martin --> Ablett in the coming weeks. Ablett's breakeven is 156, so if he scores under that he'll drop a little bit in value, making it easier.

So to sum it up, I think whilst you'll gain extra points from doing these trades, it is not worth the 4 valuable trades your using in the process. But that's just my opinion, it's your call. :thumbsu:

I agree with this, I mean if you pick a player as a premium you just gotta stick with him for the long haul, use your trades to upgrade mid priced players or rookies in the meantime and if the premium is still no good by then and you have trades left over look at trading him then.

I have both Roo and Dangerfield and my current forwardline is this:

Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Brown, Goodes, Harvey, Dangerfield, Rockliff, (Gumbleton, Podsiadly)

I think I have enough cash ($205,800) to do the following all depending on how long Dangerfield is out for of course (I will hang onto him if only out for 1-2):

Riewoldt-->Chapman
Dangerfield-->Pavlich

Leaves me with the following maybe leaving the 7th fwd upgrade to Roo when he comes back (if?):

Chapman, O'Keefe, Brown, Goodes, Harvey, Pavlich, Rockliff, (Gumbleton, Podsiadly)

Thoughts?

I'm leaving Pods or Rockliff until after next week and they're named to play a 3rd before trading them in.

The hwy to SC fame is littered with the bodies of coaches that traded rookies in after one or two games only to see them not play another game for the rest of the year.

Hate to say it, but what about Didak? You know he'll play every game. maybe even Higgins? I'd just be concerned that Chapman will go down at some stage.

I'd be holding Dangerfield too. If it's a week or two only, you have the cover and he's going to score well this year.

Hrm, sounds like some pretty decent trading options out there to cover the injuries this week.

My thinking was Roo > Rioli; This nets me some $$ & I reckon Rioli looked great the other day. I can see him really standing up the next few rounds and given I heard his breakeven was around 60 I can see his price lifting over the next few rounds for sure given the form I think he's in. I guess we'll see on that one though.

As for the Adelaide debacle (Danger/Tippett) I'm going to wait it out & see how long we are talking on the sideline for each. If Danger is only gone for 1 -2 then I'll keep him (cause he's a gun when he's firing). As for Tippett... I think I might offload him ASAP. I don't have PODS...... yet.

In my forward line i have Roo, ROK, Brown, Hall, Ziebell, Dangerfield, Rockliff

Need to get ride of Roo. Was thinking either Chapman, Goodes, Harvey or Pav?

I think a lot of people are in this spot so what are people's thoughts?

I was just thinking this to myself this morning... Although a tad risky, Roo-Rioli could prove to be an amazing trade

I wonder if Rioli has the potential to step up this year and become the Alan Didak or Leon Davis of this year?! Similar player to both.. Fast, rotates up forward and on the wing, maybe in the middle everyone now and then. And he's so damaging when he gets the ball which is brilliant in terms of SC. However he perhaps doesn't get as many possessions as an Alan Didak, but he proved on the weekend he is capable of big scores.

Plus the trade frees up $170k or so!! hmmm...

will trade riewoldt obviously, for someone, i don't know who,

however will be moving barlow to the bench and bring trengove off the bench to play the tigers while barlow will get the saints, stupid or smart??

please say either way

Roo > ROK is the only trade ill do this week.

Chapman too injury prone to select. I will pick up Goodes when he bottoms out in a few more rounds, not a good time to get him yet. Already had J Brown and none of the other options are lock premiums IMO.

I would go Goodes (I am very biased); However, everyone keeps telling me he's a slow starter and will depreciate in price over the next few rounds and so should be an upgrade target later on etc etc... I already have him, but if I didn't he'd be in my top 2.

As for...
Harvey - Underpriced IMO, so a good pick up, however, not as consistent as the other options.
Chappy - Great, pricey, but great. Potential for a few weeks here and there out with injury.
Pav - I heard a rumor early in the preseason/season he had a slight issue with his calf... I think he has dispelled any fears of an injury and think he'll lift over the next few weeks. I'm a bit annoyed I didn't pick him up in my starting line up ... and the same sentiment is also held for.... *** Drum roll***
Brown - Fantastic start, even with Fev there, and his price will/has skyrocket(ed). He's a quality player and very impressed with his workrate. However, the boat has sailed, there's no way I'm picking him up after his price increase, we'll see if he has a few bad games somewhere & see if we can't take advantage. This is especially the case if Fev starts to fire mid-season.
Rioli - Given I have Goodes, I went Rioli.... It's a big gamble but well worth it IMO. **See my reasoning in my last post.

Smart. Barlow didn't go as well against a more high-quality opposition (Geelong); whereas Melbourne's youngsters performed admirably against a fairly good opponent (Well, better than Richmond anyway; no offence to Richmond supporters of course.)

Okay, i've got a question...

I stupidly started the season without Brown and Malceski in my team and it's killing me, ranked down in the 23,000's. Aiming for a top 1000 finish, everyone highly ranked seems to have both.

I need to trade Roo out and i'm wondering if should I burn another 2 trades this week (used 2 last week) and bring in Brown and Mal, or just accept i've missed the boat and hope that Browny starts to play a few average games.

Don't think I can really afford to trade Malceski in this week as well as making the Roo trade, but at the same time don't want to miss out on a potential keeper.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks :)

I'm in the same boat without Malceski and Brown.

I think with Roo injured, Browny makes the most sense as your trade target, as ideally you'd be looking to replace one of your best premiums with someone of similar scoring ability.

As far as Malceski goes, if you've got an injury concern in the backline right now he would be a good pick up at a still reasonable price. If not, and if he keeps up this sort of scoring throughout the year, he may end up being a good upgrade target when you start cashing in some of your rookies.

I've got some tough decisions to make this week. Gotta trade Roo and Tippett (ruck). I have no cash in the bank, and I absolutely have to get one of Brown or Sandilands in.

If I go for Brown, I'll only have 374,000 to spend on my ruck replacement, so would most likely have to bring in Seaby or Naitanui.

If I go for Sandilands, I'll only have 410,300 to spend on a forward, and the options there are slim indeed. Maybe Robert Murphy or Kyle Reimers (ugh).

Or I could go a bit more left field and go Roo -> Rockliff and Tippett -> Sandilands and upgrade someone like Medhurst to Brown next week, but would that be burning too many trades? Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated!

This week i need to get rid of Tippet and Roo. So i was thinking:
Roo>Pav
Tippet>Boomer
thoughts?
not so sure about boomer

Edit: I have 50k in the bank

So my thoughts for the week are:

Out: Riewoldt, Giansiracusa
In: Pavlich, Higgins or Harvey

I wasn't going to trade this week, but the injury to Riewoldt means that I'll have to trade him. If I trade him to Riewoldt, I could potentially trade Gia for either Harvey or Higgins (I'm leaning towards Higgins because he's in a team that will win more games).

Would be interested in other's opinions on this.
