Re: Round 4 trades

Roo -> Chappy or Pav.

Will be 1st trade in 2010
likewise roo> pav it looks like then thinking whether to upgrade or just play silvagni

haha I reckon. I think someone loves to trade.

reminds me of me in my first year trading out jeff farmer and pav after round 1 just coz they were versing north in round 2 and i didnt wanna see them play good lmao!

Re: Round 4 trades

I am thinking about Tippett > Peterson which effectively means I will be starting both him and Rockliff on the ground but leaves me a good 170k in salary cap which I can use later to upgrade to a premium.

What do you think guys, good or bad trade?

Is tippet out now? if so, do it. peterson and rockliff both look good for a few games and can clearly find a bit of the ball/score decent totals.

would appreciate some feedback on the following. riewoldt has to go:

Riewoldt > Brown (seems the obvious trade and definitely the popular choice around here.

However, I am drawn towards Riewold > Pavlich. Pav looked good on the weekend and the money it would free up would allow either of the following:

Hunt/Ladson > Malceski (Malceski looks great and I'm spewing I traded him out on the eve of round 1. Hunt and Ladson will both probably have to go for premiums eventually anyway so why not now?)

or

Clark > Sandilands (I loved Clark's game last year and am loathe to jump off him so early....but there is no denying that there are serious issues!)

Anyway guys, any feedback would be much appreciated and returned in kind if you have your own dilemas.

Re: Kosi

normally i would not touch him with a 10 foot pole BUT watching ''one week at a time'' had me thinking. With Roo going down Kosi will be the main target now. they mentioned a patch in 08 (i think) where Roo was out for 4 games and Kosi really stepped up. I can't remember these games at all but would be interested to hear from people that do.

For those that don''t know he is coming back from 2 weeks suspension. he scored 55 in rd 1 against sydney. he costs 402k. i see Kosi as being a real unique selection.

I know, i know.... he is way too injury prone.... i'm thinking about bringing him in for Dangerfield. my brain is screaming DON''T DO IT!!! DON'T DO IT!!!

Description Summary
Position/s: Forward
Games played(Season 2010): 1
Total points scored (Season 2010): 55
Average points per round: 55.00
Last 3 round average: N/A
Last 5 round average: N/A
Highest round score: 55
Lowest round score: 55
Current competition ranking: 377
Total # of selections: 7,249
Owned by (% of all teams): 2.07%

here's the tip

if you see Kosi named in the ruck with Gardiner and McEvoy missing - jump on.

At full forward, don't bother.

Re: Round 4 trades

I might think outside the square for my first trade of the season and go Riewoldt to Brown.

Re: Round 4 trades

Hahaha :thumbsu:

I didn't go Brown... I took a long hard look at the performances over the weekend and thought Rioli showed a bit; And his price is well worth the risk.

I heard on the ch9 (SA) news tonight and they're expecting only bock to be out (i.e. hentschel, Tippett & even potentially Danger) to potentially be back this weekend. That's crazy talk!!! They had these sort of injuries (minus Danger) for a reason!! You bring underdone or injured players in to play...... and get further injured. Just simply stupid. No reliance on the rookies at all.

Anyway... I'm still thinking of jumping off Tippett & onto PODS before he tears apart the rest of the season... He looked great against Freo, particularly for a first gamer (think Barlow).... There's $$$ to be made there 4 sure.

Re: Round 4 trades

I seriously don't know who to pick for my 7th forward:

Currently:

Riewoldt, Chapman, ROK, J.Brown, Goodes, Pavlich, Harvey (Peterson, Hitchcock)

To replace Riewoldt, my options are:

Higgins, Rioli, Franklin, Davis, Didak, Brennan, Reimers..

Not try to brag about my forwardline (as my midfield is full of rookies), but I have no idea who to pick.....:confused::confused:

Re: Round 4 trades

what kind of scores ya been posting Impromtu????

My problem is have 3 trades to make with underperforming/injured premiums 2 with enormous B/E

Bock > Maguire + cash or Gilbee other???

S. Mitchell > Boyd/cooney/griffen/cross/montagna/judd all on upgrade rader yet all doggies players have bolted.

Stanton as above... Dont know why i picked these two and didn't go with my gut on montagna and cooney... Maybe the big preseason scores swayed me. dam it!!!!!

And of course Roo, who Im tempted to waite a week play gumby on ground then go to
Higgins/harvey/chapman and maybe Pav, depends on B/E's and possible decreases... Making this forward change would be permanent as I have 3 other upgrades needed with Mayne Zeibell Peterson and possibly Hall.

Also need to do something in my midfield with shuey and Jetta looking like 40's/50's is gonna be there average and i'm having to play 3 of Martin, Barlow, Bastinac, Jetta, shuey.

So Do I hold strong on these underperforming premiums or make these quick trades before the mad upgrade season begins.

2260, 2308, 2307 - so consistent...

I'd say go for Gilbee but depends if you need the cash...

Why you trading Mitchell out? he is a keeper and has done okay..just gets clangers, which should reduce overtime.... you shouldnt drop a guy who has the ball 30+ times..

Bock will likely miss this week with an injury, so your fear of losing big cash on a breakeven can possibly be averted for at least another week, assuming you've got some form of back emergency playing.

I'd hold Mitchell too. He'll definitely pick up the scores soon enough - probably once Sewell comes back in (which could even be this week). Stanton's an interesting one. If there's any premium you should jump off, it'd be him. Not sure on what option to take though.

Midfield is fine - just bench Shuey and Jetta, let them appreciate in value. Even a 50 average will make you some nice cash.

One trade this week. Roo > Pav or Chappy. Hoping to be able to jump off the trade wagon for a while after that. Also think that people trading to Brown are jumping on a ship that's already sailed, but we'll see what happens.

Re: Round 4 trades

G'day all,

Help please!

My fwd line is Roo, Goodes, Didak, tippett, Ballantyne, Medhurst, Rockcliff
emerg. Gumby, Hitchcock

Have been looking at Roo for Pav and Tippett for Rioli or Grundy.

However would I be stupid to trade say Tippett for Pods and then Roo for Brown or Chappy and pocket the cash. The cash could be used next week on an mid priced player such as Medhurst or Ballantyne to another premium. Then maybe try and generate some cash through the rookies or other areas for up grades later. Or would that be a bit of a gamble with that many rookies in fwd line. Hitchcock, Gumby, Rockcliff, & PODS.
Not too mention burning 3 trades instead of 2 even though I would be getting and extra premium eventually

Any thoughts?

Re: Round 4 trades

Thanks guys I think my heels have cooled and will resist trading premiums unless long term injuries come up.

So now its roo > Higgins, Chappy
and stanton > moles/howlett + cash or boyd/montagna/judd
Have cash too spare which was to be spent on ungrades which stanton was gonna be my last but now its looking like first.

Sitting in top 20k but was aiming at top 1k which is now 400pts ahead

Unless your advice is purely demonstrative/destructive, which is what i'd do in a competition, hehehe....(evil laughter).

Re: Round 4 trades

Undecided on which way to go?

Fwds. - Riewoldt,ROK,J.Brown,Franklin,Lockyer,Gian. & Peterson(Rockliff & Hitchcock)

Rucks - Hille & M. Clark (J.Trengrove & J.Roughead)

Mids. - Bartel,J,Selwood,Mitchell,Barlow,Martin & Bastinac(Banner & Trengrove)

Option 1 - Wait till next week then go Riewoldt > Podsiadly and J.Trengrove > GAZ.

Option 2 - Riewoldt > Rioli and M.Clark > Sandi.

Re: Round 4 trades

Whats the general consensus on Brennan? good value forward/mid with game 3 coming up.

And any news on Rioli's groins after the weekend?

Re: Round 4 trades

I have Roo, Franklin, Danger & Clark.

Clark is staying. He's a premium and will come good. Besides, Warnock & Trengove have the potential to cover his 50 odd at the moment.

Franklin is excellent value at $466k. He's only averaging 75 odd at the moment but he just looks to be in awesome form. He is a keeper and will average around 90 by the end of the year. Cover by Hitchcock/Gumby.

Danger looks like being a short term injury only. If it's two or three matches, I'm going to keep him. He's going to be a gun SC player this year and I'm not burning trades to get him back in later. Cover by Hitchcock/Gumby.

Roo is a straight swap for RO'K. Brown seems unstoppable at the moment but so did Roo.

4 out, one trade.

Re: Round 4 trades

I need to upgrade Clark to Sandi this week, so im downgrading Riewoldt to one of Gray or Rioli. Which one will be the better option? im finding it a near impossible decision

Thougths?

Re: Round 4 trades

Okay so I'm pretty decided on trading Riewoldt to Pavlich. But I'm now looking at the rest of my forward line which reads:

Riewoldt (to be traded), ROK, Brown, Giansiracusa, Hall, Dangerfield, Medhurst (Rockliff & Hitchcock).

I'm a little concerned about Gia as he's had two scores in the 60s and one in the 80s so far this season. I'm thinking of maybe trading him for Higgins or Harvey, but don't really want to waste another trade if I don't need too. Is it worth me sticking with him or should I cut my losses? If I should trade him to Harvey, Higgins or someone else?

I think Gia is worthy of another chance. He is a proven performer in the past & can hopefully get that extra 10-20 pts we need in the coming weeks.

Re: Round 4 trades

Yeah, would stick with Gia.

Riewoldt to Brown
Tippett to Rioli

Might hold Tippett if he doesn't play and monitor Podsiadly and Rockliff.

Rioli doesn't appear to be showing any signs of groin trouble and he's a gun so I'm confident that he'll be a keeper.
