Re: Round 4 trades

Grab ROK while you can mate..

Myself, now considering

Option 1 - ROO > PAV then be able to upgrade MASTEN > anyone under 539k (Kade Simpson has interesting numbers but Judd is back. McGlynn's first round score is interesting compared to the 2 easy scores. Dave Mackay looks super value at the moment) Just not sure with this avenue

Option 2 - ROO > Chapman then MASTEN > anyone under 449k (Looking at Moles for money and playing Bastinac on field. Jack Redden looks super value for Brisbane and is fairly cheap.

Option 3 - ROO > Chapman and back Masten again..

I don't mind the look of option 1. Pav is at a great price right now although he is up against the Saints this week so could drop in price a little bit more. Have you considered a Masten to Sammy Mitchell upgrade? He will be a tasty price next week at under 500k and the Hawks have a good draw after they play the Pies. I know his scores are down but he has still been finding a lot of the ball and against the lesser teams he could post some big numbers.

Re: Round 4 trades

Ok, at the moment i have roo and tippet in the ruck.

I can trade to chapman for roo this week.

But if i hold off a week, and pav and cox score around 100 at most each, and hoping tippet doesnt play and their prices wont change change, plus cash in bank, would be able to go roo - pav
and tippet to cox.

thoughts?

Option is exactly the same as what i did. I traded Roo for Pav, then upgraded Masten to McGlynn.

I would run with the Pav trade also I think he is pretty consistent.
I have Roo, Dangerfield and Buddy out this week. I don't have Brown but have ROK & Higgins. I am thinkking to trade:
Roo> Pav
Hunt> Malceski

Think Danger will only miss one or two and the way Malcesci is going he is going to be a keeper so I may as well do the upgrade now. I am stupid to pass up on Brown as if I go for him i can't do the Malceski trade.

Re: Round 4 trades

I dont normally jump on here for advice i prefer to stuff up on my own but i have a big issue that i would like to hear what people think.

In my forward line i have Nick Reiwoldt, Kurt Tippett and Dangerfield. As we all know Roo must go. But with Tippett and Denger injured what to do with them is the question. Others i have forward are ROK, Higgins, Zeibell, Ballantyne and Hitchcock and Gumbleton on my bench. I have 15400 in the bank.

The burning question is do i trade out Tippett or wait for his injury to heal and keep him. I had him as a breakout keeper but it looks as if that is not the case. I had planned on using 3 trades through the year to fix up my team and 5 on injuries so i have the trades but is this the time to use them?

My options are

Roo > Didak or Pavlich
Tippett > Rioli

Roo > J Brown
Tippett > Hall

I will keep Danger till he recovers. Does anyone think the first trade is the go. Or do i just wait for Tippett to come good.
BTW i am currently in the top 3000.

Is getting Malceski more important to you than getting Brown?

I see a lot of people wanting to get on Malceski because of his first 3 scores but remember the last 2 have been easy wins for the Swans and it may be that coaches start looking to nulify his influence. There's no guarantee he will keep up the 100s and the law of averages says you may have already missed 3 of his best weeks of the season.

Getting on Malceski is not a bad move it's whether the price you have to pay (in your case, losing Hunt so early and missing JB before another price jump) is worth it.

I like the second trade better because it gets you JB. Hall v Rioli is probably a line ball except that Hall is in so many teams that you could be disadvantaged if you don't have him and he scores like he did on the weekend.

Losing Hunts no loss. The best he does is score in the 70s-80's while Malcheski is killing it with scores over 100 like 139, etc.

You are basically upgrading Hunt to a potential keeper in Malcheski for $70,000 (Hunt made $30,000, Malcheski made $90,000 grand) Its a pretty cheap upgrade for a potential premium.

Trade away I say and get Malcheski and Brown if you can do it Vamos Juddamente :thumbsu:

Fair point, what about Hall v Reimers v Gwilt v Rob Murphy v Josh Kenndey. All available if i went for J Brown. Which of those for Tippett?

Re: Round 4 trades

I too have Roo, Tippett and Danger.

Dangermouse will be back in a week or two, tops, and has been showing his wares early this season. He still has upside, and with his MPP eligibility, he's currently been moved to my midfield bench so Bastinac can come on to play.

Alas, Roo and Tippett have to go. Turning Roo into another premium AND cash seems like the right play, and Tippett's start to the season has been so diabolical I don't want him to be my problem any more. He's haemorraging cash at an alarming rate. The jerk.

I've got Rob Murphy of that lot. Fitness allowing* I think he's the biggest scorer there for sure. He has 70 point games, but he has monsters, too. Has looked good so far this season.

* never a certain thing with Murphy

Injuries are what is turning me off Murphy. I am leaning towards Hall. I think you just have to have Brown. Especially if you have Roo out. Hall is capable of big scores.

Then again Didak averaged 105 last year and if Cyrill could average 90-100 would that be a better combo than Brown/Hall who may average 120 and 90.

The point is he can't get both Malceski AND Brown. I agree losing Hunt is not a huge problem. The bigger price he pays is that he misses Brown for now.

So my question is: is jumping on Malceski is more important than jumping on Brown. Who's more likely to keep up the moster scores?

Re: Round 4 trades

Potential outs - Riewoldt, Tippett, Masten (also have Buddy out this week)

What I want to do - Get J.Brown for sure.

Thinking about - A way to get Judd in the next few weeks, and what cheap forward I can pick up if I trade Tippett.
Or do I stick with Tippett on the bench and sacrifice a big score this week with both my emergencies most likely playing (Roberts and Hitchcock)

Thanks Hondo & Judd Magic don't have enough for Brown & Malceski so Browny it is. I think you are both right with Fev on the scene and Brown's hip being right I have to get on board. Although it hurts not having my SC favourite Super Pav in. I will target him later in the year. Malcesci I will have to wear as a mistake all year.

Re: Round 4 trades

Guys, I am looking at Roo-> Brown then Waite->Rioli, is that a good move or should I wait for Waite to come good.

I need someone to talk me out of it!!!!

BTW I have Tippett in the ruck and am going to keep him for the long haul (unless he gets a LTI), can't see the point in trading him to another ruckman to make up 30 points, there all shite except for Sandi.

Re: Round 4 trades

can player prices go up this after this week l read in the paper sheedy super coach guru said.rioli is likely to go up after is round l thought prices go after every 3 weeks or is it after every 3rd game the players play??
No prices go up every week, but you must have played 3 games for your price to change, price changes are based on the avg over your last 3 gams, thats the reason it takes 3 games for your avg to change. If you go look at Howlett, Shaw, Cousins, and the rest of the guys that have only played 1 or 2 games, they will syill be original price.

Once a player has played 3 games their price goes up or down mate, hence Riolis price going up after he has played his 3rd gamer this weekend.

Re: Round 4 trades

hey guys what do you think about this stradegy... Got the roo trade covered, went with rioli + Cash....
Though was thinking about my upgrade options for rounds 6-10 and should only need to use 10 trades through those weeks to fill out my side. Downgrade/upgrade.
Got players in mind from my watchlist who havent played yet so could see them mid season.
Was thinking of dropping the Axe on Mitchell who's B/E is 195 so should drop more next two weeks even with 2 gun performances, and get in one of moles/howlett/duncan.
Now I know I picked him as a keeper, but my stradegy allows for 5 injuries or underperfoming trades.
This would allow for 4 straight 300k player upgrades over the silly season.
And could even pick him up again at a giant discount.
I know 2 trades to get the same guy but would be 3 other guns.
Would like to hear opinions or others stradegies. If you say dont then why?
