Re: Round 4 trades

hey guys what do you think about this stradegy... Got the roo trade covered, went with rioli + Cash....
Though was thinking about my upgrade options for rounds 6-10 and should only need to use 10 trades through those weeks to fill out my side. Downgrade/upgrade.
Got players in mind from my watchlist who havent played yet so could see them mid season.
Was thinking of dropping the Axe on Mitchell who's B/E is 195 so should drop more next two weeks even with 2 gun performances, and get in one of moles/howlett/duncan.
Now I know I picked him as a keeper, but my stradegy allows for 5 injuries or underperfoming trades.
This would allow for 4 straight 300k player upgrades over the silly season.
And could even pick him up again at a giant discount.
I know 2 trades to get the same guy but would be 3 other guns.
Would like to hear opinions or others stradegies. If you say dont then why?
Dont trade premiums especially Mitchell, he will come good.

Re: Round 4 trades

I posted this message in the wrong thread so I will post it again here... :)

Could someone help me with my supercoach team for a second..

I have a problem... In my team I had Riewoldt, Tippett, Dangerfield and Bock...

I got rid of Riewoldt, so now I have 1 trade left, Dangerfield and Tippett are in doubt while Bock is gone for 2-3 weeks, what should I do?

Hey man - firstly wait til friday morning to get clarification on injuries before making a decision. Secondly who are your bench players?

Re: Round 4 trades

Danger and Tippett are both a chance to play, and if you have coverage for Bock on the bench you might want to use that.

Don't do any more trades until the teams are released tomorrow.

Re: Round 4 trades

My 4 bench players are R Shaw, J Trengove(Melbourne), J Trengove (P.A.), L Franklin...

If Power Trengove is on your backline I would just sub him for old mate for now.

Depending on the time length of injury for Tippett and Dangerfield and the overall strength of your team you may be better to take a zero this week rather than burn a trade. If they are only 2 week injuries then cop the zero adn buddy is back next week. I'd be hesitant to trade Tippett this week - do you have a multi position swap possible for him?

Re: Round 4 trades

Considering 2 options...

Currently have 84k in the bank.

Option 1
Riewoldt > Higgins
Hooker > Gilbert
*This option will leave me with 5k at most in the bank.

Option 2
Riewoldt > Chapman/Harvey/Goodes
Hooker > Malceski
*This option will leave me with about 60/70k left in the bank.

My current back line is:
Hodge, Broughton, Enright, Gram, Hooker, Maguire, Waters. (Silvagni, Farmer)

My current forward line is:
Brown, O'Keefe, Riewoldt, Pavlich, Gray, Ballantyne, Podsiadly. (Gumbleton, Hitchcock)

What seems the better option?

Re: Round 4 trades

I like option 1 more.

I believe Higgins is going to be more consistent over the course of the year, Malceski might get looked at more closely the way he has dominated early, also keep in mind two of those games were against hapless opposition. Having said that he may turn into a very good keeper. Depends how you assess him i guess.

Gilbert is solid and so would chappy/harvey/goodes altough i would take harvey. Chappy's hammy and goodes more forward role are a bit worrying.

Re: Round 4 trades

Lots of people trading Riewoldt and somebody else at the moment. not sure if that necessary - would have thought just Riewoldt at this stage

Re: Round 4 trades

I'm going for the Reiwoldt > Brown trade
but also thinking of swapping either Hunt or Ladson for Waters.
looks like Waters will end up doing a lot better than either of those two..
Or is that just a waste of a trade?

depends, lots of people are dumping tippett due to injury and poor form which i think is a pretty reasonable trade. but yeah, a lot of people seem to be jumping on the bandwagon of last weeks hottest player in the hope they will keep going. its a risk, but it could pay off too.... its all part of the fun :)

Re: Round 4 trades

Hurley or Reimers in this week for Medhurst? What do you guys reckon

What was your initial reason for taking medhurst? Did you view him as a keeper? did you view him as someone you were hoping to appreciate to say, 400-450k and then 1-trade him up to a prem?

He may not be outplaying his price too much at the moment, but surely there are more pressing issues in your team than someone who is scoring approximately what he is priced at?

Re: Round 4 trades

Too sideways, and I'm not sure Reimers and Hurley are necessarily better prospects than Medhurst. I've got Medhurst and he hasn't set the world on fire, but he's pretty much my 7th forward and has been OK. Not worth a trade at this stage, even if someone like Hurley comes in and does well. :)

Re: Round 4 trades

If Shaw is set to miss gain this week should he be looked at for replacement?

Had hurn + shaw on bench last week (thankfully had the cover) but not overly keen on pushing my luck again this week by having so many starting rookies on the field as i have enough in the mid, will be running one in the forwards and have a starting one in the backline as it is normally.

I see both as keepers and had factored them in as keepers when i made my side, but truth be told, i am a bit concerned about any injury listed as 'back' as in heaters case.

Wait 2 weeks for Hurley- he is playing forward this year, his scores could suffer. Wait and see. Reimers has been in and out of Esendon's side and with McVeigh to come back into the best 22, I would stay away from him.

Re: Round 4 trades

If he misses again you'd start to worry.. has had issues in the past
thinking maybe Grundy or gilbee?
really hope it doesn't come to that tho

Re: Round 4 trades

l read in the paper super coach guru sheady said rioli price will most likely go up after this week.can that be right because the players prices have already gone up or do the players price go up/down after every 3rd game the players play or just every 3th week??

Re: Round 4 trades

Hahaha... Just heard someone saying they are cashing in on Barlow this week & trading out Roo to get in Gablett........... Why oh why would you

a) trade out Barlow this early on
b) Not have Ablett already :p
c) tell people you have already completed 6 trades..........

RIDICULOUS!! Please people, don't get dizzy trading your team away so early!! You picked these players for a reason... only LTI or consistent poor form should determine their tradablity.

*** I do confess, having watched Tippett's poor start I am on the verge of trading him 2 but maybe just Roo this week... I have cover on the bench for Danger & Tippett (who mite even play anyway!) and at worst will miss a week or two. You can't use up your trades on every minor injury or reason for not playing one week... thats what you're bench cover is for!!! If I had Franklin I certainly wouldn't be trading him off having probably picked him as a keeper from the start!!

Please... stop the crazy talk & think before you go and get your trade high...

Re: Round 4 trades

haha i agree gotthegoodes....

I have tippet, Bock, Roo and franklin all out this week....a lot of people in my league are in the same situation.

Roo > brown is a sure thing. was a tough pick over brown and ROK however I plan on gettin ROK in later and he should be cheaper in a few rounds than brown will be.

I cant find any info on Bocks injury except that it might be 2-3 weeks but nothing for sure. im tempted to trade him for gilbee who will go up lots this week, because a remember last year bock was meant to be coming abck each week and it ended up being ages with him sitting on my bench....

i think i will sit on tippet as there is noone to swap him to but seaby and nic nat. im hoping they rest him this week so he can get better before he plays next. if he has another poor week he will drop another 60k. i dont wanna swap my rucks till i know if tippet, clarke or cox are gunna fire up. im just spewing i have to cover him with warnock.

Do you guys think i should swap bock for gilbee? i have 85ish k in the bank after the roo-brown trade.
(bock was a shocking choice at from the start,, i shoulda learnt better last year when i had to swap him out for gilbee)

They go up/down after a player plays their third game of the season, and every game that the player plays after that. Not every third week or every third game, EVERY game that the player plays from their third game onwards.
