I've got Shuey and Howlett both on my bench. I've made up my mind that I'm gonna trade one of them (I set aside a couple of trades for this sort of thing) for Moles this week:

Howlett: Not playing at the moment but may come back later, will lose 9k
Shuey: Injured unsure how long, could also come back soon, will gain 60k for me.

So which one should I trade? Shuey could be back in a few weeks anyway and continue to make money (therefore I would have culled a cash cow early) while Howlett might not get a game any time soon.

I am in the same boat, but I have JKT instead of Howlett.. I am kicking myself at eliminating Bastinac from my starting line up in place of JKT.. Bastinac is a star and I even told myself this after I watched him against the hawks in ballarat pre season.. I am thinking now, do I bite the bullet and bring in Bastinac for Shuey now, I can still jump on the boat, before it gets to far away.. Bastinac could go up to around the $300k very quickly, allow me to bring in Judd with no fuss..

So that article about Rioli has thrown me right off him. So now 2 hours before lockout Im desperately trying to find a replacement. Im wondering if Heath Grundy is looking amazing to me right now because he's all thats left or becasue its his breakout year that all sc'ers dream of stumbling upon for a cheap price. What are our thoughts feelings and emotions on Grundy?

Me too. If Howlett didn't play for Essendon and I wasn't so desperate for a measly 11k I would've taken Bastinac instead. Note to self: never let emotion go into player choices.

Have/Had roo how should i take? Cant afford ROK and Chappy & Rioli according to S.E.N missed training today, nursing, or injured im not sure, but thats enough for me not to take him.

Grundy, havent taken much notice of him but averaging 110+. What position has he been playing?

Harvey or Pavlich?

To be honest i havent seen much of him, but his scoring very well.. Huge wraps on his current form though, he could be the unique sort of player that could be the difference for you winning games in your league/s..

I was ready to trade medhurst out for rioli this week but after reading all this talk of ongoing groin issues and not sure if he'll stay out on the park in coming weeks ive sort of talked meself out of it, you guys rekon its worth the trade?

Have just done Riewoldt-> Rioli, leaving me with $260K in the bank to upgrade Medhurst/Warren in the next couple of weeks. Pav's BE of 130 is certainly possible (even against the mighty St Kildas), but he'll still be a bargain next week.

Leaves me starting two rookies up forward in Peterson and Rockliff until Waite serves his penance, but they've been going OK so far, so I'm not too panicked.

After next trade I'll keep the powder dry until about round 8-10 (fingers crossed...)

Grundy is playing a key defensive role this year which is giving Bolton more freedom.

Riewoldt OUT Rioli IN
Gia Out Chapman IN

Think this will be a nice trade both should average 100+ points this season. Will fit in nicely with Brown, ROK and Dangerfield in the forward line.

Personally I think you'd be better off replacing Roo with a 'premium' (Brown/Goodes/Chapman) and relying on cashing in cows to upgrade your mid-rangers to cut-priced premiums but thats just me...

I think I've convinced myself to drop Shuey for one of Bastinac or Moles.

Moles is obviously cheaper, but on current averages, Bastinac will peak around $300-$350k a couple of weeks faster, allowing me to trade him for a premium.

why is that?

Because he's a gun who's under priced at the moment after 1 poor score. Will end up in the top 10 forwards at the end of the year easily. Proven scorer over many years. Fremantle look to be on the up so Pavlich will hopefully score more. More reliable than Harvey and younger.

Sorry to cause panic, i miss read a post about rioli and chappy being injury prone and rioli not trainin, sorry again guys, but now that i got your attention do i jump on cyril (not literally of course) and get rid of medhurst

I think I've convinced myself to drop Shuey for one of Bastinac or Moles.

True, but the money you get from bringing in Moles will cancel that out. For example, if Bastinac continues with his average he'll reach 350k at round 7 while Moles will be at up about 276k at round 7. And considering it will cost 30k to trade Shuey to Bastinac, the 60k you'll get from bringing in Moles means you'll have more money in the end. Moles has good job security, is mature aged and can score well. Plus I don't think it's ever good to spend money to jump on a rookie that you missed.
