How many weeks will Scarlett get?

Can someone clarify how many times has been pinched for striking?

I am fairly sure he got 2 weeks last year.

He could go for 4 weeks this time.

Such a shame to see such a talented footballer showing such a lack of discipline.:(

Oh I saw it, don't worry about that.

Anyway, didn't he get two weeks last year?

He will get zero weeks. Without "clear vision" the reporting procedure is screwed before it even begins.

Thanks to Foxtel for that :thumbsu:

Cant see the punches or strike actually connecting so I doubt he will get pinged, might get 1 week which wont be a huge issue againts that hawks next. Hopefully he can play againts the Dogs the week after.

Re: How many weeks will Scarlett get?

I saw the TV replay of Scarlett on the 5th Quarter (or whatver they call it now) - not that conclusive - and they showed it a couple of times - he defintely swings at his head but the vision shows no evidence of contact. The ump will have to testify that he saw conclusive contact for it be suspendable. Will be interesting.. - ablettallica

Re: How many weeks will Scarlett get?

I know he was cleared of a kneeing incident on Didak and a throat striking incident on Reiwoldt in 2004.

He might only end up getting 2 weeks.

Nice bruising around the eye but that whole "lack of vision" thing is frustrating.

yes, it was very, very ugly.

I hope not too many of the mum and kiddies were disturbed by it.

After all we are trying to stamp out that sort of thing.

It has no place in modern football.

Then modern football is suffering.

A black eye, boo hoo.

- The camera didn't show Scarlett connecting - can't be suspended.
- Harding's a dope.
- Archer WAS an absolute gun, but was a liability for the Roos today, maybe should have retired at the end of last year...

A very, very ugly incident of a smaller man with his armed pinned on the ground by one person getting bashed by another.

A very weak gutted cowardly act.

The T.V. close up of Hardings face was nasty, and no doubt the picture will make it into the sunday papers.

If the AFL don't move on this we may as well not have a tribunal at all.

Can't umpires lay reports anymore? Did they bring that rule in when they changed the system?

It's good for Scarlett I guess because he got away with king-hitting Riewoldt behind the play a couple of years ago didn't he?

Bashed?? Oh please - every other sport in the country will be laughing at the AFL if he gets suspended. Just like the Barry Hall thing at the end of last year.

It didn't surprise me Andrew Maher thought there was something in it - he wore a t-shirt under his guernsey when he played (says it all).

Time for the AFL to dump the Andrew Maher type persona and return footy to men.

4 weeks?

Is that an attempt at humour?

Total hypocrite
We all know your type- the bloke who likes to try and dish it out, but then cries foul to mummy when someone hits back. Sound familiar? Not many people like that kind of person- but you probably know that by now already, don't you?

If you were 'disturbed' by that, I wouldn't ever turn on the news. Might see something scary...
Just in case you were wondering, guys can play netball too apparently. I think you'll fit right in. You'll even get to wear that skirt you keep in the cupboard...

If there's no video evidence, and the umps didn't see fit to report him, Scarlett is in the clear.

Besides, Leigh Harding is a contemptible little git and deserves whatever he gets.
