Why they continue to have multiple games starting at the same time or within 20 minutes of each other is really grinding my gears. Its becoming a real bone of contention.

Heres how i would schedule games:

Fri: 710pm, 8.45pm
Sat: 110pm, 230pm, 445pm, 720pm, 845pm
Sun: 145pm, 445pm

Not a fan of thurs and monday games they interfere with supercoach too much.

Only Western Australia and South Australia (at a stretch) would be able to host 8:45pm games due to the time difference.

Does this mean even WCE, Freo, Port or Adel game is played on a Fri or Saturday night for the season?

Any team can play the late game im sure the players can stay up an extra hour or so.

It’s not just the players you need to take into consideration.

An 8:45pm game isn’t fan friendly (either to attend the game or on TV). Making games start 60-90 minutes later has an impact.

Id say its more fan friendly (TV) than having 2 games scheduled within 10 minutes of each other on saturday nights.

You’re using the assumption that all supporters watch the majority of games.

That’s not true—- the majority of fans watch one, maybe two games a week. Moving games to less fan friendly times is more likely to turn the “average fan” away because they won’t watch a game if it’s going to finish at 11:30pm

For the average weekend (no public holidays, etc). Eastern times.
Fri 7:30 (8:10 eastern when in WA)
Sat 1:20 (no WA teams play), 2:30, 4:10, 7:10, 7:40
Sun 1:10 (no WA teams play), 2:30 x 2
Second Sunday game could be later if in Perth. Twilight east coast for TV, but keeps it afternoon for WA. No games played in Sunday twilight. That should not mean WA sides playing Sunday all the time just for television (but we know it would, because money is more important than the sport).

Long weekends:
Fri 7:30 (8:10 eastern when in WA)
Sat 1:20 (no WA teams play), 4:10, 7:10
Sun 1:10 (no WA teams play), 4:10, 7:10 (actually Sunday NIGHT on long weekends, seems obvious even if it would screw with whatever renovation dance outdoor cooking song "reality" prime time programming is poisoning the airwaves at the time)
Mon 1:10 (no WA teams play), 2:30
Early Saturday and Monday game moves to Thursday night and Friday afternoon for Easter.

No Thursday or Monday in regular rounds.

If supercoach ever plays any part on if or when the AFL schedule games then football will be officially finished.
you mock, and I say this as someone who doesn't play fantasy, but as the actual games get shitter and shitter an increasing percentage will just watch for gambling and/or fantasy purposes; it's not to be close to the main consideration but it should be in the mix
