If Schneider doesn't want to leave he won't have to, due to him still being under a contract with the swans. So he is safe as long he wants to be a swan.

I heard a rumour that the Swans are getting rid of Schneider due to Salary Cap problems. If this is true then im going to be so mad at the Swans management for keeping Jolly as it looks like keeping him might have lost us Schneider.
There is probably no more than 25 to 30 genuine league standard ruckman going around in the AFL at present and probably 150 to 200 half forwards come midfielders.

That is why when it comes down to money ruckman command a premium. Has been that way in the past and will always be that way in the future.

So it ain't nothing to do with list management which is something we as a club and Andrew Ireland in particular is very good at.

Gotta agree with this. As sad as it is (Schneider has been one of my favourite players to watch since 2003) from a team perspective Jolly is far more vital to sustained success than Schneider. And unfortunately if I could only choose one of them it would have to be Jolly.

He's in Bali and he's getting offered around? That's disgraceful.

If Schneider is under contract and doesn't want to leave he wont be leaving. I remember Notting was in a similar position at Brisbane a few years ago (they wanted to trade him to Sydney and we wanted to take him) but he simply told his manager no deal.

It'll be interesting to see if Schneider is resigned to accepting the move, or whether in fact he was actually party to this deal being set up in the first place.

Does he even know whats happening. He will probably come home from his holiday and be told that he has to move to St Kilda. Imagine if you were in that situation.
I can't even believe that. With all the talk going around about this being a done deal, i just imagined that Schneider would've met with St. Kilda and all that, but he's in Bali!?! I hope he shows how much he loves Sydney and tells Roos NO DEAL!

According to today's HeraldSun, Schneider is under contract for 2 more years.

This is the dumbest trade of all time.
We need run and carry players and one of the few guys who can do it is being traded for a hamstring afflicted back pocket and/or a pick.

Unfortunately I assume if the Swans have got to the stage of flying Fisher up for a medical, then the deal would appear to be a fait accomplis and Scneids presumably is resigned to moving to a club where the coach obviously recognises his talent.

mate youd be concerned.. how do you think we feel.. 2nd rp & L Fisher.. NO DEAL..
How about S.Fisher instead? still interested?
That'd be a no deal on both ends, Leigh Fisher's worth a second round easily

No chance on the latter, Sam's had a great year, second in our best and fairest and a key backline player.

No way would we ever give up Sam Fisher. Picked him up for #55 3 years back. Great recruiting by the Saints. Sydney had their chance to pick up Sam Fisher then but didn't, a bit like not picking Lenny Hayes.

Anyway I hope this trade goes through, nice to get one back on Sydney after the players you lot have pilfered from us over the years.

Hilarious.

First round picks for Schneider or Bolton pfft

Dont think we want a washed up Bolton, and Schneider isn't worth more than a second rounder with Leigh Fisher thrown in.

Doesn't matter if he is contracted - Josh Kennedy is contracted :thumbsu:

May hapen may not. But you wont get a first round pick for either of those two GOPS.

Shame we'll still be finishing above your mob for at least the next 4-5 years. And Schneider is hardly in the same class as Plugger and Hall lol.

have you forgotten who you are dealing with here in the schniederman he kicked the first 3 goals in the last quarter to inspire us to victory against st kilda if it wasn't for him providing that spark we probably wouldn't of won that match never underestimate schnider he has the potential to do anything

tsk tsk. Now it was all very civil. No need to get upset.

Schneider is not worth a first round pick, really simple as that.

Dont get upset just because a trade doesn't look like going in Sydney favour for the first time since they change their name from South Melbourne.

Really touchy when things dont go all your own way.

Settle pettal - it will all be OK. :)

i would say that schniders worth more than 16 other players in ypur starting 22 at least so he would be worth a first round pick now onto another matter we won't trade him you only offered us a pick it doesn't mean we have accepted it
