Oliver's direct quotes shouldn't be taken into account, but his self report should. Also he doesn't have to give evidence.

As hilariously good as this thread has been at taking the piss, this is a massively valid point.

Quotes are, essentially, self reporting. You're asked your opinion on an incident, you respond. Medical self reporting is by and large the exact same thing. How can one be admissible and the other not?
 
You cannot be satisfied on the balance of probabilities that the contact here was anything more than negligible on a complete stager." Said it should be a not guilty verdict and player Oliver should face off with Beau Waters in a fishbowl.

Would be a good ground to raise on appeal, assuming the club wanted to take it that far (which I doubt).
