I think they both offer the same to the team. A steady midfield that isn't too quick but a handy back up.

McManus has been at fremantle his whole career and deserves the spot over the ex eagle/power player.

Who would you choose?

McManus has given his heart and soul to Fremantle and should get a place in the team before Schofield WITHOUT QUESTION. Neither of them are exactly setting the world on fire at the moment, but if there's one person at the club who lives, breathes and bleeds Freo, its Macca.

The assets that Schofield was supposed to bring to the club (pace, good skills and leadership) haven't been displayed. His feeble marking attempt at half forward in the final quarter was embarrassing and could have cost us the game. Whatever you think of Macca, and personally I'd prefer Hayden over both of them, you know that you are going to get 100% effort from McManus.

Hopefully you are right on the make up of our side for round 22 pinkus maximus. There will be an unlucky player if Bell also returns next week considering Connollys reluctance to drop Medhurst.

Schoey was near the end last year. We were happy to keep him a bit longer and have him offer backup when we had injuries etc. I'm still at a loss to know why Freo sought him, and can't see how he is being used effectively. He used to be a good ball carrier from centre to link up with our forwards.

Lay off Schofield, he's not a selector, he doesn't pick the side. He's just an ordinary guy making a living out of playing football. If telly tubby want's to play favorites, it's not the players fault.

That is true, but was anybody really saying that?

Schoey is just making a living, you can't blame him for that.

McManus easily. Might not have the same skill level, but he doesn't pike it when the going ets tough.
This week is going to be tough.

Macca has played well at WAFL level, Slowfield has been ordinary at WAFL level.

As said by someone else last week, in a race over 40 meters between Slowfield and Lehmann, I'd back Lehmann.

Macca always gives 100%, a bit like Cookie.

what happened to schoey? i haven't been following him lately, but he was at the end of the road last season. JUST sneaked into the side for the grand final. Never should have got 2 years, i dont know what freo were thinking.

Last i heard he was injured at the start of the season for 6 odd weeks?

Surely he can't have lost so much pace that ppl are calling him slowfield and think he would get beaten by lehmann.

And his passing by foot was up there with the best in the AFL, to a leading forward. impeccable passing, joy to watch. has he lost that too?!

His courage/marking under pressure/willingness to body on the line has always been questionable
