Worth the wait. Pretty damn good game from him today. I for one am converted and am back on the Schofield bandwagon. Is easily in our best 22 at the moment.

Schofield is better than Peake.
But schofield is still a pretty average footballer.
We are going to need Haselby Bell Black and brothers Carr to be in good form all season, if we are going to make the finals

Well put it this way. He did a pretty good job on the ball and around the midfield. He didn't result in turnovers and his disposal was clean. He is a lot quicker than last year and tried hard while on the field.

I don't like putting players in a pecking order so am refusing to comment on whether or not he was better than Peake.

He wasn't BOG. But gee, give the guy some credit for having a good preseason and finding some form. I am glad we took the punt and gave him a two year contract. He may yet prove his worth.

If schofield does make our best 22 this year.
It will make you think about what could have been with woewodin.
IMO Woewodin is a better player than schofield.
It is really hard to take anything out of preseason games.
I have no doubt the the eagles will be a top 4 side and we will probably be fighting for a spot in te 8.

I don't like your attitude BB gun. Schofield was a parttime onballer in a premiership team. He is an accomplished 200 game player who had a bad run with injuries last year.

To think that he wouldn't be in the side at his best is ridiculous. But the question remained whether or not he could get back to his best.

He looked very good today, and i'm hoping his good form continues. He's not a Bell, Haselby or Carr. But he sure added something to our midfield today and was another option through the middle.

On the topic of Woewodin, no-one took that punt. So it can't have been that much of a loss. Its a maybe that no-one will ever be able to answer.

And any Dockers supporter should doubt whether the eagles are top 4 material again :D

I don't care to be honest.
But just for the sake of arguing
Woewodin was a brownlow medalist and played in a couple GFs.

No doubt that schofield had a bad run with injuries last year. Picking up schofield last year was worth the punt only because we needed to add depth and speed to our midfield and schofield does add depth to our midfield.
However i still feel woewodin would have been a better player, not that it makes any difference now.

On another note, i am very pleased to see Crowley go alright.

Yeah likewise, i guess by starting this thread. I was attempting to highlight the improvement of one of the lesser lights.

Crowley, Dodd, Peake and Schofield all fall into that category. I was hoping Des would standup but unfortunately was injured quite early. Nothing too serious from all reports.

Even Walker had a good game. The rest of our midfield looked quite good today.

Haines didn't get much of a run, anyone know why?

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

- Hard work pays for Schofield -

Way back when the Leo Barry and Sydney were winning premierships. Jarrad Schofield was hitting the gym with none other than Brett Peake. Both Fremantle stars wanted to be fighting fit for the new season.

Schofield struggled his way through 2005 with a back injury which interupted his preseason. However for 2006 with a full pre season in the gym and on the track he is fighting fit and ready to return to his best. This has been shown in the early preseason games with the #17 attracting a lot of the ball.

Jarrad said "I am committed to Fremantle and I would like to repay this club for picking me up and allowing to come home. I want to play my best football and help Fremantle win a premiership, i have never been this fit."

"His attutude has been super professional and I am looking forward to Jarrad working in with our midfield off a wing. He is going to be important to our structure providing run on Subiaco Oval. Jarrad's disposal is immaculate and we will be looking to give the ball to him to deliver the ball to our focal points Pavlich and McPharlin." Said Coach Chris Connolly.

Jarad is sure to cement a place in Fremantle's best 22 in at least all the Fremantle matches at Subiaco Oval.

Injured a calf just before half time. Came off looking very bloody grim. Was showered and changed at half time and sat our the rest of the game on the bench. My heart was breaking for the guy, and I hope he is OK.

Not even in our best 35 that hack is playing his last games during nab cup.I have watched that game 3 times got a few easy kicks and his next kick will be out tne door.Eight players from sundays game will have to make way for Black Haddrill Hayden Pavlich Thornton and maybe Cook when the real stuff starts. He will spend his remaining footy days in the WAFL with Polak

I didn't realise my first post would cause such a split between supporters. How can you claim he isn't in our best 35. He got some easy kicks? whatever. He is an outside reciever, they are meant to get easy kicks. Not everyone has to be an inside midfielder. The inside midfielders would have no-one to pass to. For gods sake a glorified outside midifelder got a brownlow last year.

Schofield had 16 possessions. Not a bad effort. I'm not calling him a superstar. But gee, he's a lot better than last year. If he's selected round 1 i wouldn't be surprised.

One "scratch match" does not make a season.

To my mind Schofield is way down the pecking order. Come back to me when he plays 3 rippers in a row, then I might think of reconsidering.
