We need to give these guy's a chance this week, throw them into the deep end and see what they are made of.Both can be physical players and we need abit of mongrel out there against the hawks. The both need to show sumthing before end of season also, i think there both capable players!

Hartigan in - White out - I wasnt sure about White last year, but this year confirms it, hes a dud, trier but not good enough

Also think a tall will replace Deledio as he had the capacity to play tall in bursts.

Yeah give Schulz a run he was reasonable last week for the burgers. The hawks have got the mid range defenders to make life difficult for Petts and Brown, Richo will need some help and you cant expect reiwoldt to do too much

lol throw them in the deep end and see what they can do.you dont throw 5 yr players in the deep end. they should be at a level where they demand a spot. it seems schulz in particular cant even dominate at coburg besides how much of him do you have to see before you know hes not up to it. surely you have seen enough of him already.

im all for throwing some young kpp in the deep end hughes and riewoldt.

I agree 100%. Hughes should be given a chance
What have already seen from him is that he leads very well and his timing is great, he has good hands but kicking could get better
Each time he plays he plays as if he has to perform or he will be out of the side he needs to be told he is in the team with plenty of game time for the rest of the year. I think this would really show if he has what it takes.
Personally I think he does!

I rank them in this order .....

Hartigan.....>
Ty Zantuck (just)....>
Ty Esler ......>
inanimate carbon rod......>
Jay Schulz

..... FFS , how many "cracks" does Jay Schulz need ?

Spose we should give him a two year contract coz he kicked 5 on that Papuan New Guinnean up at Brisbane that time :thumbsu:

Bring Hartigan in.
Schulz can wait until he performs at VFL level. If he can't dominate for Coburg he should not be in the team.

In:Hughes, Hartigan, Schultz

Just leave them in for the rest of the year and they should prove they should be kept

i seem to recall early in the year when people where raving about giving schulz the 50 to his own, the guy hasnt even been playing bad to warrent some of the abuse hes copped in the last few weeks, look at our goal kickers he would probably be 3rd or 4th and hes played what around 7 games, plus in the geelong game he played about half a qtr before being injured and out for the game.

He missed 4 chances at goal against west coast big deal richo misses plenty of times too the only difference being that richo is a true CHF player, richo loves to roam the ground and he does it well, Schulz is a traditonal FF, a leading from the sqaure FF, and generally when schulz lines up for goal he splits the middle

Also another thing, Schulz has only played 30 odd games, much of this to do with injury.

Hughes kicked a couple of goals, and riewoltd has had 1 shot at goal

Riewoltd doesnt stick out to me as a key forward he is more a flanker , you dont just throw away tall forwards, especially the ones that can actually kick goals, you just have to have patience and for those who say 5 years well hes been injured a bit

Some people have some stuipid ideas, and yeah if the right trade came up for schulz and the only way i consider it the right way is a key postion player like himself or hes in a package to get a big name player.

The players like white, howatt, casserly, JON, hyde they are the people that should be in the gun most to be delisted becuase these players come a dime a dozen they are easyily replaced these "outside" midfielders .

Before you know it the way people on here have been going out about getting rid of schulz, knobel, pat bowden, kingsley, (gaspar obviusly has gone) then we are going to be a pack of midgets running around and yes we might be quick and flassy like the bulldogs but it wont get us anywhere near a grand final

Schulz should be let in the team for the last 8 Rounds giving him enough time to settle in a KP forward role. A return of at least 15 goals should save his skin!

I think the 4 players who are up for selection this week are Hartigan and Schultz plus Moore and McGuane.

With Riewoldt already in the side, it would be hard to see Schultz getting a game esspeacially if Hartigan gets one and plays foward.

As far as identical replacements go Hartigan would be a good one for White and Moore a good one for Deledio. However, Hawthorne do have a pretty ordinary tall back line, they have Brown and I think 1 other decent tallish foward, so we might look to force them keeping in Thurgood or playing HaK Dawson by fielding a side contain 3 tall fowards (Riwoldt, Cho, Schultz) plus Patto, Simmonds and Polak who can all drift foward.

However they have a tall potent foward line in the likes of Boyle, Roughead and Franklin. McGuane or Moore might be need to help out in this area. You would think the lighter faster frame of Franklin would bode well for Thursty or McGuane, the larger but slower Roughhead for Polak, and the 3rd tall in Boyle for Bowden. Raines can take Williams if he plays, however another tallish backman bought into the side could be helpfull, ie Moore/McGuane

Williams no chance of playing and I'm sure Boyle will be missing through injury too!
