To get Schultz fired up, draft anyone with a surname that is Hogan. Now seriously, trade him to a soft soft club that he will feel right at home and that is freo.

Actually I think Loyal Tiger might be on to something :
Leppa's our new backline coach. Ring a bell anyone?? Former forward thrown down back and made it his own.....
IF he gets the correct coaching he COULD be a great solid CHB. Emphasis on could and if.

Who am supposed to listen to
Obviously i don't know the severity of Hughes situation

Listen to yourself Tig.
If you want Hughes to stay and Schulz to go, that's your opinion.

My opinion. Flick em both.

But Hardwick could turn em into something else. Who knows.

Anyway, whatever happens will not be decided by bold, underlined, large letters!

CHB. Played his best footy there and I've not written him off.

11 games in a row at the start of 2010 should settle the matter.

Like Schultz.
Tough.
Looks good in a full arm wooly.
good mark, good kick.
can play forward or back.

hate Schultz
lost a friggin major sponsor!
has done fk all

hope to see him sustain some form and get 5 or 6 games in a row in the same spot - him and Polly give good KP depth and flexibility, if they can both hit form in 2010 Ill be wrapped.

forward next year should play a bradshaw type roll out of the square good kick needs to play a few games get his confidence up. hopefully if he gets a game hardwick gives him a fair go. i think TW stuffed this kid big time. how can a player grow when one week your forward then out of the team next a months time your defence then out of the team.
needs a few games in the one postion. played ff for the 2nd did well play him FF might just pay off fingers crossed anyway wouldn't play him down back all ready got moore, rance ,thursy, mcguane etc

im pretty certain he wasn't contracted last year, it was a 3 year deal he was on...probably one of the two ronnies that signed him, Miller was still about back then
i think you will find cameron responsible for this one and a few others as well.

to me hes the weak link shocking history at melb and its continued at richmond.

francis jacksons record isnt flash either, if we are to become a decent side these blokes have to nail the roles they do.

This is his last chance.
Hardwick will rip him a new clacker.
Nowhere to hide anymore with a new Coach's evaluation of the list.
Hardwick won't let him wear a long sleeve again.
The time to flick him will come sooner than later.
That he's proven me right at being just an average local/country footballer hiding in the AFL.

Hate: :thumbsd:
Done nothing.
No awareness of teammates.
Too old school, "lead and mark" player.
Runs around like someone has stolen his aerobic capacity.
Looks like an old man. Plays like one.
Been too long at the club.
Just cruising along.
Failed at both ends of the ground at Senior Level.
Been dropped more times than anyone currently at the club.
Promised us the world, delivered us squat.
Fills a valuable spot on the list that someone else could fill.

Schulz = :rolleyes:

Schulz has had his shot.
He has been tried at both ends and apart from a couple of glimpses here and there he has not showed anything. The most disappointing thing is that this year he had his chance to cement his spot as our FF. But he could not get a game because of sub-par performances at Coburg.

He had a huge opportunity this year and he did not take it.
Put him up trade and lets see what we can get for him.

the only time i want to see schulz on a football field is when he is delivering the drinks to the REAL footballers on the field. We need to get some balls and cut our contracted crap...how the hell did they get such long contracts anyway...mcmahon king schulz old duds.

I thought Jay proved in the second half of 2008 that he was an important part of our backline. Look at the win over Hawthorn, he was really starting to fit in........

Then Puck me dead, terry throws him back down to the forward line for the start of 2009.

Give him 1 more chance, it might be a good decision.

if he stays on the list hopefully he gets a long run at FF. we thought he would get one under Rawlings but didnt.

He kicked something like 15 goals in his first 3 weeks at Coburg. It wasn't his burgers performances that were keeping him out of the team.

It was the fact that EVERYTIME he went alright in the 2's he was poor in the Seniors....and would be dropped because of it.

We didn't hire/sign/employ Schulz to be a permanent Coburg player.

EVERY guy the RFC signs is signed because there is a PRESUMPTION that this guy will be, OR SHOULD BE, a regular SENIOR player.

The Coburg Football Club is an arm, or storage cupboard for the RFC and its waiting, soon to be Senior players....not the other way around.

agree he played bad when brought up to AFL. but not everyone fires when they come up to AFL level we never gave him enough games in a row to see if he could bring his VFL form into the AFL.

Get rid of him! I would prefer to upgrade Gourdis and play him or Putt at FF all season than give Schulz another go. His got additude problems..doesn't care! Apparently he wanted to walk away from the game 2 years ago.

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttt????

At the beginning of this year Schulz had been dropped over 13 times. (God knows what it is now)

That's also 13 times he's had to make a singular impact. Not to mention the times it took a while by giving him consecutive games, only for the club to discover he should be dropped due to poor form.

Poor excuse. No excuse should be accepted.

Schulz = Round 1, Pick #12 2002 National Draft

Excuse me....Aren't we about to head into Season 2010?

FFS.

Do you have the facts to prove he was dropped over 13 times? If you counted every time he was an omission, you would have a misleading stat as he's been injured during games and missed the next match at least 3 times in his career. He got dropped twice this season, so that would make 15 times he's been omitted (if it is true he'd gone out of the side 13 times). Count the injuries and the times he was dropped as youngster (it's not rare to see a youngin go back down to Coburg) and it's nowhere near being dropped 13 times for underperforming.

Not saying we should keep him, just trying to give something back in the guys defense. He's contracted for 2010, so if he's kept on or delisted...HOW ABOUT WE BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT

Saying he's been dropped 13 times doesn't prove that he has had chances at an extended run in the ones. In fact it suggests the opposite.

I will get the facts, I did a check with a mate a while ago. I'll do it again pal.....just to please you.
And while I'm going through the years.

Chew on this!.........2002 to 2010
And what do we have to show for it ???????????????
It will take me a lot of ****ing bricks to build a ****ing bridge that ****ing long to cover the ****ing failure and waste of time OF 8 ****ING YEARS!!

Schulz has NO DEFENCE.............Just like YOU.

To be continued......ffs

A bit of sense in here. :D

I'm sure you did check it with a mate, 'pal'. ;):D I bet no one else could stuffed going and actually checking themselves. I will check for you, only takes a while. By the way, before I start...I'm not even set on Schulz one way or another. It doesn't bother me if he's kept for the last season of his contract and it doesn't bother me if he's traded.

2003: Schulz played two minutes (if you don't believe that either, then look it up or watch the game) in his first ever game, the following week he was omitted. Schulz returned in Rnd17, playing the next two matches after that before being an omission going into rnd 20. He returned to the team Rnd 22. So, that's twice in his first ever season. Was he underperforming or was he a young kid (17 going on 18) getting games put into him for the future?

2004: Schulz went out of the team 3 times in 2004. He played 16 games for the season, not bad for 18 going on 19. IIRC, he got injured against Geelong in round four, missing a week before coming back up. That's 5 omissions in two seasons, one most likely injury related.

2005: Schulz broke his ankle in the preseason, he came back off injury in Rnd 9 and 10 before re injurying the same ankle. ONE injury related omission, he made his way back into the side for the last two games. That's now 6 omissions in three years, two because of injury

2006: Jay played the first two games but injured his shoulder in Rnd 2 against St Kilda by a tackle from Aaron Hamil. Another injury related omission. He came off injury in Rnd 13 and played the rest of the season. One omission in 2006 and it was because of injury, taking his total up to 7, three because of injury.

2007: Started off well, kicking two or more goals in each of the first four games. Was dropped after round 8. Came back in Rnd 10 before being dropped once again (I remember a few Tiger fans being annoyed about the change). He came back at Rnd 15 and played a few matches before being omitted again. He came back into the squad for the match where we beat Essendon in Hirds last match. So an inconsistent year where he was good in some games and quiet in others. Total up to 10 after five seasons, three because of injury.

2008: Schulz started off well again (lead our best & fairest after the first few rounds) but got dropped after Rnd 7 when he played poorly against St Kilda. Unlucky, IMO. Came back after one week and played the next month before going out once again. He came back in a few weeks later and played the season out, bar one match where he went out due to the weather conditions and was replaced by Morton. 18 games for the season. So, we're up to 13 omissions (the number of times you said he was dropped going into this season). But, after researching it I can say one time was for weather reasons in Adelaide and three were down to injury. Taking the total of times dropped to 9, 4 of those being in his first two seasons. Including this season he's been dropped 11 times for poor form in his career. Sure, that's a fair bit but it's not as many as you said.

Build the brick 'pal'. Build the bricks.:D:thumbsu::thumbsu:
