Ever since I collated all those images from earlier in the thread I've thought about doing this but realistically I just don't have the tehnical know-how so it never really got off the ground. But I would love to help you out anyway I can.

I have games on DVD from every season 1991 - 2011 and I believe have examples of every network in each year over that period of time, though there may be one or two missing (I don't have any optus vision or C7 though) I would be happy to provide screenshots for any graphics you would like from any games. Obviously you would have the scoreboards/scorebugs, but perhaps also player name/stats, "top 5", interchange, "running hot"/"gone cold", etc.

Let me know of anything you need!

How big is your TV. Its a HD channel most HD displays these days are 46" or bigger. The score graphic is easily readable on a my 52", I also don't have an issue on my 32"

I'm not sure if it's HD ..... It's at work - up on a wall - really high! It's fine on my TV's at home too. But isn't the normal 504 channel just digital ....we don;t have HD package for Fox.

Maybe thats it ....work better buy me a new TV then !

Rounded up a lot more high quality stuff from late 90s to early 2000s from one of my old Greatest Marks DVDs. I used to have a Greatest Goals DVD but I believe that got lost at a mate's place to never be recovered Would have been great for extended score graphics but ah well.

Just for a previous question:

The first attempt at imposed scored graphics was done by the ABC in 1973. They were often a bit slow, though, and had to revert to showing the scoreboard. If I can find a screenshot, I'll post it. For a while there, the ABC - being national - had more resources, partly because it simply showed way more sport (tennis, golf, cricket etc.). That's why in those early GFs, the ABC version has ground-angle forward-flank cameras, where as 7 did not.

Random trivia: one day someone will dig up the 1973 Grand Final as broadcast on Channel 9 in colour. It's out there still, apparently. Locked up in a Channel 9 vault.

The colour film you are referring to is most likely the Rothman's film that was shot on Grand Final Day.
1967 + 1969 exist in colour and are at the National Film and Sound Archive (I actually donated the 1969 GF in colour). So the 1973 Grand Final in colour may be there also - have to check, but their search functionality online is down at the moment.

I seem to recall there was an early version of this one where the team logos were in the scorebug, which was dropped after a few weeks.

The logos were retained for stats view and after a behind was scored:

Yeah that's just stupid. Also I do want C7 to have individual score graphics, although I don't want the same ones as last year.

Keep it simple FFS. I don't know why they must make these graphics so unnecessarily convoluted. Do we really need the clubs logo, colour and name all at the same time? Surely the name alone would suffice. Plus they are all arranged in a single row, along with the scores and time. Could be so much simpler.

And the scores on the ground prior to the center bounce -> try-hard.

I kinda like the score on the grass... guess its just me. But I really hate fox footy's scorebug. It's way too bloody long. Do they really have to have the fox footy logo PLUS "live in hd". I know it's live in hd, I'm watching it!

I'd also prefer it to be multiple lines rather than one long line that takes up more than half the width of the screen.
